It can handle 4.2.2 fine
Then how come they decided not to update our xooms is it because of the system partition

Pretty much what Dyelon said. The xoom is two years old, and it actually takes a decent effort to port 4.2.2 to the xoom because of the system partition limitation's, definitely can't load it with any bloatware, so moto basically says "screw it" They already have our money so they will concentrate on their newer devices.
Besides, it isn't like anything moto would put out could best what the EOS and baked developers already have out so, does it really matter?

Didn't Google buy Motorola? Any way why beat a dead horse. The reason we didn't get it is kinda irrelevant at this point. We didn't get it, we won't get it OTA. Like Drex said, the devs here ported a better version of it anyway. (I would imagine)
I'm still on 4.1.2 because 4.2.x just isn't that impressive to me. I can wait for the 5.0 port, if it comes, if not... 4.1.2 does what I need. No complaints here. Just saying.

Well, mainly that it has been so stable and fast for me. The only complaint I would have is I haven't been able to find a CPU overclock option in the settings. Not a big deal I only overclock when playing demanding games, and other apps do it too but, it was a convenience I had become used too. Not to say it isn't there necessarily, just I haven't found it. Other than nitpicking, I would recommend it if your looking for something else.

I love how everyone always assumes that it's Samsung's decision. It isn't, or at least it isn't completely their decision. They're at the mercy of the chipset maker as to what they can release...they're using proprietary VIA code, and it's up to them as to how much Samsung is even allowed to release.
Bet Verizon is part of the problem as well.

JB for certain (AOSP was too large). For ICS, they were at minimum saying that OS plus TouchWiz would be too much, let alone after VZW adds all of their bulk.
This is sad news, especially when this p.o.s can get ICS, and the charge cannot. Makes me even more regretful for buying my charge for 300.

one word: BB10, blackbery's new os is entirely gesture drive
but we don't have enough devs for a port of something like this, its massive... I truly believe that unless a device with similar chip set/CPU gets it we likely won't. Don't get me wrong our devs are great, just few
Would be nice, as would Firefox OS but i'm more hot for Ubuntu for Android as that would finally rid me of having a technically unnecessary pc
I use a gesture based OS on my blackberry playbook daily. It is incredibly smooth when done correctly. If Ubuntu does it correctly, then I wouldn't mind having it ported. If it's done badly, then it just wouldn't be worth it.

Cannocal has already made a flashable zip for the nexus devices. You have to fastboot flash a .img file.

The original purpose of this thread was simply an appreciation that 4.3 is now leaked, which means it's only a matter of time before we see it available for other smart phones, regardless of whether its changes are big or small. The same goes for 5.0.
That's the beauty of open source. While some are more comfortable staying with GB, many get the benefits of what's available in the new releases. Very glad for that.
And very grateful for our developers who give their time freely to benefit a much larger community.
I'm definitely looking forward to the new notifications API in 4.3. I hope it comes soon, so that my liveview (Sony Smartwatch predecessor) can actually be useful.

I've been wondering the same thing but from the looks of things I think it might be longer. So far Nexus devices sort of have it, but it's extremely alpha. Your best best is to watch CMs Google+ page for the release on the nexus devices. Once that hits the person responsible for our device needs to get the drivers working. Basically we are waiting on CM to get a working product. Paranoid is working on it too but they aren't trying to get PA to work because they are planning on rewriting the entire ROM for Kitkat I think.
And the answer is... November 10th!
Wow devs, you've outdone yourselves here!
