[Q] XCOM UFO for android?

Anyone knows anyway to play our old XCOM UFO games in an android device?
I would kill for be able to play Terror from the deep in my phone .

I am running the official Playstation X-COM on my 400 mhz TYTN II (Kaiser, with Froyo) using PSX4Droid.
Works great. A little slow, but playable on my old device.

playing games consumes a lot of resources (you know it )
i have a htc desire hd... has a 1ghz powerful snapdragon processor, that if you "root" your device and installs a new kernel you can speed up to 1.8ghz!!!!the only thing that can not agree to you is that his big display (4.3")is only an LCD screen.
seems well for gamming but i recommend to you WAIT for thE htc SENSATION.. it´s cool because has A DUAL CORE processor sooooooo powerful!! and has a LED DISPLAY and the best resolution (comparing htc phones)
sensation has more than 1 gb of ram memory....

ut xperia play is the most comfortable phone for gamming... 1ghz processor overclockable of course... has the buttons like PSP...and the lastst android version 2.3.3 gingerbread..
But the graphical environment is the worst comparing it with desire hd, galaxy s (galaxy s have better proccessor than desire hd but the same speed) and certainly the sensation
xperia play has a super LCD display. (poor performance comparing with LED panels)

It's better with dual core phone for gaming I guess.. try galaxy s2..

the quality of the processor of SGS is better (arm cortex)and counts with GPU technology for better power and battery administration..
also the SGS has better display than DHD, sgs is a superlcd retroilluminated by LEDS (called SUPERAMOLED)
DHD display is a simple LCD DISPLAY (MADED BY SHARP certainly)
and the processor of DHD iS a QUALCOMM SNAPDRAGON...It has less quality than ARM CORTEX...
CONCLUSSION: SGS has better H/W than DHD..

htc Desire HD is my choice

Xperia x10 with any gingerbread rom or xperia play

- Dont like its design, fat...
- fast cpu 1ghz
- launcher not so nice
Galaxy S5830
- 800mhz cpu which is actually a overclocked 600mhz cpu, bad battery life
- nice design
- have bad experiences with samsung...
Wildfire S
- Sense? Is it worth? It looks nice...
- Slow CPU 600mhz holds me back...
Which is the best for me? I like modding and making ROMs. So far I have only experience with samsung. Is it also easy with Xperia Mini or Wildfire S to do it?
I hope one of these will suit my needs ... I don't play HD games... But I like having a good phone.
I use my phone for making roms and text messaging mostly. = which is probably stupid you may think. I also like using the GPS for navigation.

I also read that the Xperia has no illuminated keyboard :/ so I think I scrap the Xperia for sure.

Do HTC Devices get updates longer than Samsung devices? or is that just a illusion of me?

I was thinking of buying the wildfire but the ace is much more good lokking and the screen is bigger than the wildfires 3.2''
The stock ROM is nothing compared to the sense UI but I'm using cyanogen 7.1
which is great.
Though the wildfire has a higher RAM its processor is much slower and seriously the Ace isn't overcooked

I think this will be good. But the title is a bit disturbing. An airborne car racing game.. Yeah, i know its the jump or whatever you want to call it.. Just it doesnt suit it well.

Guys, dont forget with the 3.4 kernel in its way it will support all android versions I think and with GB performance will be SPECTACULAR as the 3.4 Kerenl generally offeres much better battery & performance!
When DooMLorD finishes up on the Mogami bord then he will start with the zeusc bored (play) and it should be done by the end of summer hopefully (not sure...) and then we will have AMAZING PERFORMANCE!

Yes if the 3.4 kernel brings better performance and a 1.6 ghz overclock using a good gb rom (there's already plenty of those) and these new gameloft games might be able to run well. And if they don't optimize them game keyboard will come through for us. I'm going to keep my play for a bit longer if this kernel comes to the play :thumbup:

Sorry to dampen things but it will only be for JB much more work would be needed for ICS and support for GB is highly unlikely. There are many devs working on Mogami board devices at the moment, if we had as many for the PLAY working on it we would fly, but for 1 or 2 it maybe a lengthy process.

Well True, :/, But if its smooth on Jb Then, meh...

Game looks amazing. Don't mean to be part pooper but I'd love to see and open world campaign mode like NFSU... not gonna happen.

I bought it, but it won't even download right now because the servers are so hammered. Same thing happened to the Modern Combat games, so I won't bother trying again until tomorrow.

Bought this on my JXD. Looks and runs lovely but no controller support without mapper. Can't complain for 69p though

It is unplayable (literally) runs very very slow, but you set the graphics on (very low) and then overclock to 1.6 ghz.
Gameloft is hopefully put batteries and optimize well this game (and all other new) and other companies (like EA) are games with better graphics than this and are excellent on Xperia Play ..
PS: I've seen complaining on google play, and also in other forums, a lot of people that has not worked well, or will run very slow on high-end devices (eg Htc One, Nexus 7, Nexus 4, Galaxy S3. . and others)
Too bad those gameloft I get increasingly worse with their little games, so I prefer to play emulators, rather than games android ..

You guys need to relax. As mentioned the game is fully optimized for our device even to the point that an XP controller comes up in the options parameter. Gameloft are most likely just working out the bugs and will release it to us when it's ready. Our devices are old now. We are lucky they are still producing for us!

I can't really help you with your temperature "problem", you may check the gpu frequency?
Well, I just found 2 benchmarks and compares for the Xperia Z and Note II,
you may take a look at them;

If the only problem is the temperature, it won't worth to sell your Xperia Z.
As the benchmarks says the Z is better for gaming, but the NII is also really good.

Note II is good for gaming as much as the other expensive phones of samsung brand. Many ppl have the same problem as you. You can check this topic "[Q] Galaxy Note 2 overheating ??" (Sorry but I can't give you a link becuase I dont have the requirements of posts)
In my opinion Note II is overheating because of the performance of the phone

I dont really understand what you mean, but here is what I think. If you have a problem with your xperia Z and if your guarantee still covers your phone then you could contact your seller and ask him what is happening to your phone. On the other hand if your guarantee is over, you could sell your phone and I suggest you buy the S4 instead of Note II, because S4 is more popular and has better ROM support and not only.

I am not sure. I have read something about overheating but not sure what exactly it was, so I dont want to confuse you. You can read some information for both devices and see which one is better for you, but as I said above I think S4 is the better choice.

The main purpose of the phone is to talk by them. If you want to play games I suggest you buy a tablet. Anyway..
I think S4 is a great phone, which is able to run every single game without any problem. However, in my opinion S4 is a great phone which you can use for everything and also I am thinking of buying it.

I am not professional. I am just giving you my opinion and I wanted to make sure you know that.

I recommend the QUAD core phones! They are awesome!
If you want GREAT gaming ONLY device , so get nVIDIA SHIELD!!! Or the new nVIDIA k1 tablet! (dont what what its name)
