Hello,
I have just installed the PACMAN Rom on my P920. It looks really nice, but unfortunately it is very slow. I often have to wait for seconds for the keyboard to show up after clicking into a text-field.
How can I find the reason for this?
Greetings,
Hendrik

I have tried the PACMAN ROM and found that problem an many others.
I really recommend to use another ROM.
The best one for now based on my experience is the one included in in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195753
Just follow the steps and don't forget to thank drastic00 for this clear tutorial !
Hello,
I will try!

No, no, I will not try.
Never again a Flash-Tool Orgy. Never again a 127 STep Guide.
I'd rather buy a new mobile. I have lost so many hours doing this...
But still, I appreciate your hint.
I would prefer a rom that can be installed in the Recovery system by installing a zip.
Greetings,
Hendrik

I had the unofficial (leaked) ICS before. It ran quite well, but I was missing google now.
I have now tried JellyBam. It is not as bad as Pacman, but using my wifes E400 I got jealous for the speed of her single core low-tech mobile... I think, this gives you some impression of what I am experiencing.
Greetings,
Hendrik
... thinking of it:
As now two roms are slow on my mobile, and I have not heard complaints elsewhere, I think, I might be doing something wrong.
Wiping cache and data should be enough, shouldn't it?

Hendrik

Hi, I want to know how to boot more than one rom using Boot Manager... i've tried to do it numerous times but each time I just get frozen on my carrier logo on reboot. What partitions do i need setup? I'm a bit of a noob so if it's really complicated can you simplify it. Thanks in advance.
Dude, I made a thread on this - did you need to make another one?

Are you sure?
Boot manager app has given official support for our device. And I have seen proof of it working - on youtube on a Desire S booting CM7 & MIUI.
Also bootmanager cleverly overrights the kernel with the new boot.IMG each time you flash.

Works like charm for me. (=

Update on this: The optimizing thing only lasted a couple of times. Now the phone boots up straight like normal! However, Google Now hasn't worked from the start. Ya.. maybe it is just 'one' of the ROMs that has it for the S3 but if you are trying to choose between some of those ROMS to get your multi-window feature then here is just my opinion between Synergy/Galaxy Mod.
If you want an easy, stable, feature complete ROM that isn't all about making it look fabulous (and most fail at the fabulousness), and feels polished... then Synergy is where it is at.
Day one from when I got my S3 I started with Synergy... ran great... but I decided to try Galaxy mod because of people talking about it's battery life and I was having a battery drain issue and ran it for a day. I was just disappointed with it's mods/tweaks/style that it tried to incorporate that didn't seem polished, work right, and clashed with the base style.
Went back to Synergy ROM with a full wipe, battery life had improved, and I haven't strayed since. However, I honestly don't care though for the other ROMs that already come pre-themed, and the other ROMs available just do not have the feature set.

So even now, with multi window, do you still feel it's very stable? I'm on Jelly 'beans' b10. I never tried b9 with multi window because in the forum they said it wasn't as stable and that the other roms with multi were having the same problem (stability).
Do you agree? I'm thinking about giving Synergy a shot.
Thanks

It is extremely stable. For a super stability when in the aroma installer choose custom install, read everything carefully as you go, check anything that says it will increase or maximize stability, and to reduce the chance of any random or quirky thing from happening choose stock kernel.

Hi, thanks for your reply My screenshot shows that in less than 2 hours, my battery went from 80% to less than 20%.. I have tried to reflash a fresh trick droid ROM. The only difference is that my battery life lasts a bit longer but it's still no big deal.. My battery life drains completely in 8 hours (even in idle mode !)
By 'wipe everything' you mean wipe the system also ? and no, I am not S-OFF.

No. A kernel is different than a ROM. Here is a link for a different sense based kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886010
I'm guessing the instructions are in the thread, but if not this is what you do.
1. Extract the boot.img
2. Place it in your folder that had fastboot 3. Boot into fastboot and type fastboot flash boot boot.img
Sorry those are quick instructions but I'm typing from my phone.

If you not familiar or comfotable with fastboot you can download Flash GUI from Play store. Once you have downloaded the Kernel use flash GUI to select the file, flash and reboot.
Its the easiest and quickest option, and just incase you ask you dont need S-Off to use Flash GUI
Thanks

this doesn't explain anything, and it's spelled "stunned". what you needed to do to avoid random problems was to read the stickies. you wouldn't be "stunt" and you would know what to do in the first place. it's really not that much reading and the best part is: you'll actually know what you're doing. :good:
