ok 1st of hello im new to the site ~ 2nd i want to buy a new android phone, i did some research and specs and features / price for the phones i liked and the 2 that fit perfectly are
Samsung Galaxy W and Sony Ericsson Xperia Play
the samsung galaxy w has an advantage cause of cpu and network speeds but im also a gamer and wants to have of course games on my phone so i just need advice, on which phone can do more app wise and will be more useful / more reliable (hate to break a 1st smartphone)

i am to thinking of buying galaxy w.but i am not sure is this phone is good for gaming.it is a mid range device and it looks like it can play hd games but any one can tell me about that is it good for gaming or does it have any problem with playing any hd games.
If your primary objective is gaming then xperia maybe be more interesting because of hardware's joystick.
yes my primary objective is gaming but i dont care about hardware joysticks.i just want a phone which have better performance on gaming xperia play have 1 ghz cpu but galaxy w have 1.4ghz so does it means it can play hd games without lags and give more performance than xperia play.can i play modern combact 3,mass effecxt,9mm,gangstar rio ,black stab.if yes i will buy this phone.plz tell me about it.

Im new to this forum and im going to buy my first android mobile. Im thinking to go for xperia j. I've gone through all the specs of this but still im slightly doubtful if this will get lagged after upgrading to JB.
My usage is
Hardcore gamer in pc but not in mobile. Will play in mobile bit rarely.
Heavy browsing and social networking.
App lover.... will install lots of apps.
not a big fan of mobile video recording.
Clicks pictures occasionally.
Does a lot of IM.
So now somebody pleaase tell me if i can go for xperia j. If not, what alternatives do i have.
android 4.1 will bring performance improvements like project butter = Vsync tripple buffering & intuitive touch. the internel memory is only 2gb. & app data partition is 750mb i think but there are ways around that to install more if needed. all other alternative devices like u & sola wont be updated to 4.1 jelly bean. i my self came from xperia ray i find xperia j better. with a few tweak scripts and things its alot faster than when i first got it. hope this clarifies things for you.

thanks gavster26. but updating to JB, will it not take more memory because of the new added features like Now, offline voice search etc....???
Yes u can go for it and new update will not take space !! U can also check lg l9 it not much pricey !

No mafter buddy if it will be jelly bean
My friends have problems with this mobile
Also it is of around 300$ still not capable of playing 720p videos
Also it has 480*854 resolution but it has andreno 200 which is quite outdated for this price
Better go for xperia u(no sd card support), xperia go, xperia sola
Samsung galaxy ace 2 these are far better for same price perform 3 times faster than xperia j:victory:

im not much concerned about 720p videos....thats ok for me.....
i do some serious multi tasking.... n i dont wanna get any lag while i do...this is my major concern..
More cores don't mean better performance my girlfriend has a xperia u and it lags and the screen redrawing is rediculase. I game a lot on my j and the only game it struggled is GTA my Xperia ray did aswell untill I overclocked it to 1.2ghz and then it was fine.
im using this J almost 2 month..
nothing goes wrong so far

and its cheap
if you want to stay in stock firmware , locked , just use V6 Super Charger make ur J peform better
based 512MB ram , 1GHz single core , i say its not for gaming , but i play a lot game on it LOL
i use EPSX there, lil bit lag only , some HD game , lil bit delay too , but low game , working fine..
if u decided to to unlock bootloader
theres is a Kernel ICS Vengeance overclocked it to 1.3GHz , its fine ofc *main problem cant use the CWM backup/restore*
if you want to use ClockworkMod working 100% just find "adfad666" thread
and CyanogenMod 10.0 jLo fxp 205 so far , its stable for now with sub lil bugs left , just wait till we get full fixed CM 10.0 , and J ready to rock
so far i think J its a cheap but valuable devices to learn new things *since im new on android , still got a lot to learn*
and J its not build to be extreme gaming device imo.
I think yes, this phone is cheap and it does have what you need..
Its around $210 in my country..
And this will be update to JB

its not the internal memory im worried about....im worried aboout the RAM. if its get updated to jb.... what then? will it consume more ram leaving me few mb?

I have xperia tipo, galaxy s2
And my friends have xperia go, sola and ace 2 these are best in this price
And u can search a bit at xda u will find xperia j is lagging for some people
And if u are a gamer than u must know the performance difference between single and dual core CPU
Also if u don't care about 720p videos but if u are getting 720p video playback than there should be no problem..
U can compare the review at gsmarena.com of xperia j ,go , sola and galaxy ace2 u will find yourself... The difference:good:
U want multitasking the Mobiles I suggested u above give u better.. Than xperia j
And also galaxy ace 2 has 768mb ram and is also upgradable to jellybean...
I experience a lot of problems while playing gaameloft games!
-Backstab closes after into movie
-Six guns closes inmediatly without showing anything
-MC4 and Gangstar rio both give the message: "the game has been succesfully downloaded, touch ok to start downloading while i haven't downloaded any files yet.
-MC3 keeps bootlooping
-Real football 2012 and 2013 both work fine
All this issues are strange because my tablet has 1 GB RAM, dual core 1.6Ghz A9 CPU, and a Quad core Mali-400MP GPU.
It runs real racing 3, nfs most wanted and all glu HD games buttersmooth.
These specs should be good enough to play these games (at least backstab and MC3).
The exact device is the "nextway F7"
Hope you guys can help me with this!
Is rooting an option? and is there an app for rooting all devices because my device is very unknown!

so when i saw youtube videos about gaming in both . i found out that
i9500 : bad optimized for real racing 3 - fifa 14 and runs gta sa well
while i9505 is bad optimized for gta and runs real racing 3 - fifa 14 very well .. not very good frame in asphalt 8 while i9500 gives wonderful fps in asphalt 8 .
now im seriously confused which one to buy .. wolfson audio chipset attract me in i9500 but i can't imagine myself not able to play fifa 14 and real racing 3 well on my phone ..
can some one help me a bit?
Fifa 14 is running very well in my i9500
All of the above are running well on my i9500. Add to that GTA: San Andrea's too.

-Has the best S4 camera with its Exmor RS camera senor (I9505 has inferior Exmor R only)

Why you don't consider buying the I9506 instead?!
It's better than both I9500 or I9505...
I got I9506 and I'm very satisfied with it... every game runs smooth....
I don't think it's device dependant. It's probably because you need to use this patch if you want games to run smooth.

Samsung should add something like gaming mode(for devices that use this extreme dvfs)for users that dont care about battery when playing games so we dont need to root our devices,this way they are forcing users to root/modify/flash their devices :/

My rating: Perfect in everything and there's no lag. and i think it's better than Gt-i9500 cause Gt-i9505 has 1.9 Ghz processor but Gt-i9500 has only 1.6 Ghz

gpu is open gl es 2.0 only :/ means the upcoming generation of games won't be running flawlessly on this gpu
and can u show me some videos showing real racing 3 and fifa 14 on i9500? cuz i am going to buy one of those phones after like 2 weeks

well . it's way expensive than i can handle . as well as it's not available in my country (egypt)

about this fix it maybe what i'm looking for . but mobile isn't all about gaming for me , i care for camera and speakers sound too . which version of s4 is better in these terms? as for 4g it's not available in egypt ( and i guess it will never be ) so it's not big deal for me
guys should i really care for the point that i9500 not having open gl es 3.0 while i9505 does? would it really matters with me? i will play games yes but i aint a gamer . not all the day i will play games .not even everyday , i want a version that can max out fifa 14 , gta sa , asphalt 8 , real racing 3 and to be good for daily using , camera and speakers ... so which one should i get? i9500 or 9505 ( no 9506 cuz it isnt available in my country) ?

OK, I said that because my phone wasn't available either on my country, and I got it on a physical store and cheaper than I9505...
I Know I9505 and i9506, but I never got I9500... so I can't help between those 2 models... choose wisely good luck

snapdragon 800 and 330 adreno gpu . definitely it's better .. but i want region unlocked sim version already . and i will buy used one not new . my friend is selling used mobiles and he will get me a best grade used one . i still got 2 weeks to decide take best care with ur mob
I have bought Htc one e8 (M8sd Indian version) Six months ago.. m a hard core gamer and its all well nd fine no lag or issue reguarding the OS.. Previously, before I my updated my One E8 to lollipop all high end games were running flowlessly smoothly I didnt had any complain at all... But after the upgrade to Lollipop my phone was looking good with some new apps nd most importantly i got the inbuild File manager.. But the new problem came out is maximum of high end games which I played very well before update are now not running.. Games like GTA San Andreas, Ganstar Vegas, Gangstar Rio, Amazing Spiderman 2, Battelfield 3, The Dark Knight Rises , GT Racing 2 which I played very smoothly now doesnt run on my after i did the update.. Amazing Spider Man 2 and GT Racing 2 these two games are atleast running but lagging very much means running too slowly.. Now m not understanding wat to do m unable to find any way to solve this issue. I have done factory reset two times but no change in gaming issue.. plzz some one help me to solve this issue.. plzz tell me wat to do??
