ROOTING:
I rooted through Tpsparky Root. Thanks to Mr.SparkyM3 . I have attached the file for rooting to all friends.
First install the MTK 6575 driver in the system (PC).
Enable 'USB debugging' mode in mobile (settings - developer options)
connect mobile through USB cable to the PC
turn on file copy mode in mobile
Then simply click the bat file and proceed with instructions.
CLOCKWORK MOD RECOVERY
THANKS TO RUSSIAN developer - Mr.Arsenev.
I have attached the link to clockworkmod recovery. But, the file is complete Rom. So, you have to download complete Rom files.

Remove the recovery file from the downloaded Rom files and replace the attached recovery file. I dont know to separetly to flash the recovery. If anybody know, Please help. So, while flashing only select 'Recovery' and follow the 'bm-smartphone' guide. Your downloaded Rom is not waste, because that is 23.07.2012 build. so you can use also that Rom. But anyway stock rom is best.

Use google translate in browser. Because page is in Russian.
It is made by Mr.Alexey arsenev, russian developer for Star N8000. He told that it will match exactly to Dapeng A9230+. So I tried, and it exactly matched.. All tweaks are good. Rom is Very fast. "Awesome Beats" in this Rom is Excellent.. No need to buy Beats headphones.. Medium quality earphones are enough.. So, if you want , try.

3. GIONEE GN868 ROM (Micromax A90) - Stock ROM works well. has little problems. but we can solve that.
Little problems - we can solve that.
a. no signal - copy 'modem.img' from your stock rom (\system\etc\firmware) into GN868's Rom - same folder and change permissions (rw-r--r--)
b. bluetooth, wifi crashing - copy 'mtk_stp_wmt.ko' from your stock rom (\system\lib\modules) into GN868's Rom - same folder and change permissions (rw-r--r--)
Use your's stock ICS boot.img in the downloaded ROM .
Flash through Recovery.
Done .. Rom will be perfect.

I have attached new LEWA BOOT IMAGE (zip file- you have to unzip) made by Mr. Vetal-ok , Russian Developer through my Request. All credits go to him. So replace the lewa boot image in the downloaded Lewa ROM.. means.. you have to unzip the file and replace the boot image, then again you have to make a zip for flashing through recovery..
2. MIUI
MIUI V4 works good in Our device.Only one problem (for me) - There is no analog TV. Firmware is from Haipai i9220 (Russian) forum.

Sorry friends.. the old attached MIUI boot image has camera shot problem.

Please help. I successfully rooted the device.
But I softbricked my device due to my simple mistake. While using ROM Toolbox lite, I tried to change the font.
I have no problem, while changing the fonts (downloaded through ROM toolbox}, I successfully changed the fonts.
But Yesterday night, I changed the font from local folder of device , Afterthat the device is not booting..Only Android logo.....
So I have to reflash the fimware... Any developer having firmware of this device..... please help..
In service center (chennai, India), also still Firmware not available...
I have seen the firmware topic in the following Russian website.

But I cant understand clearly, because of unknown language (even using Google translator also)

Dear friends,
I solved my problem myself. I got firmware from Russian friends and flashed successfully before 2 days. My only little issue is back camera gives inverted shots. I am searching for rear camera driver. Other than everything is well.
After sending mail to NXG , they sent firmware after 4 days. But that firmware gives error (flash scatter file is invalid) and I cant flash the NXG firmware.

hi，This is for Dapeng A9230 ±. I am not sure that this is for your device. Make a nandroid backup of your Rom , Then you can test this recovery.

Sorry. There is no video call option presently in the Miui rom for this device. Maybe near future It may come.

dude, to back up your imei, your phone must be r00ted. open your root explorer or similiar, go to " /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/ ". You will find a file named "MP0B_001", copy it to your sdcard or maybe pc/laptop for future use. So you can paste it into the same folder, and you get your imei back if in case you traped inside "Invalid Imei" problem.

Cut 2mm of copper with a cutter as show, this operation unwire the original antenna from the connector
Isolate with electrical tape to avoid interference, leaving 3x3mm copper contact
Put the new antenna, secure it with a small piece of tape on the bottom to ensure the contact
If you have curved smoothly, the installation of the cover will press to ensure good contact

Probably you have the b92m 2013 version, i think it's a baseband or a kernel problem. I need a full stock ROM dump for the 2013 version then i can try to solve this problem

The 2.5gb option expand the internal memory storage to 2.5gb, that's all You can install the rom and and after apply the option if you want, remember that if you do this you have to wipe data, that means factory reset.

Buy year? 2012 or 2013? And the phone was presented as "NEW B92M" or "B92M" ?
Yes first you have to flash the TWRP recovery in your phone, after reboot in recovery and do the upgrade (wipe data/cache/dalvik first)

I've resolved all the problems about the software and,finally,all the problems about the gps (all settings are perfect without having to change nothing) together with this guide:

somehow I bought the phone in mid-January, has 1GB RAM, 2.5 rom. that is, unless it's the new.
in the description it said "* NEU * EZIO S92 4.7-inch 1GB-RAM ANDROID 4.0 GPS 12.0MP HD ..." .....
I downloaded the recovery.img file from the link TWRP Recovery.
swapped it with the original file contained in the ROM.
'll copy the rom to your phone
Now you only need to start the recovery mode and do the upgrade?

sorry for that. but I have to be sure:
1 replace the file recovery.img in the original ROM
2 lose rom zip file to your phone
3 fire recovery mode
4 do first wipe all or after installation
5 Reboot your phone and it should work all right?

I have installed it on my 2012 and so far so good. Good performance. No bug in the display as I have experiment with other ROMs. I think you should give your reference about the Antena though... This comes from Frandroid right?

Introduction
Here comes the Android 4.2.1 ROM with full Project Butter experience with UI running @ 60+ FPS* making our W8 a real beast!
It's based on the latest Eastcom W1 stock Android 4.2.1 ROM. It's a pure stock with a few fixes and mods on top (check out the Changelog in the second post).
For W8 16GB, W8+ and Beyond, the ROM is based on the official THL firmware and it uses official THL kernel.
Installation can be done via recovery (Instructions below).
Thanks goes to akim14 @ androidforum.cz for giving a tip about compatible Eastcom ROM.
* 60FPS is available for W8 4GB/8GB models only.
* W8 16GB runs at max of 49FPS since it's using official THL kernel
* W8+ and Beyond use kernel from Beyond running at 58 FPS
IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT COMPATIBILITY
Although this ROM seems to be working fine on majority of W8 models, there's still a chance you might come accross some issues caused by incompatibility.
Except for memory size, newer batches of W8 seem to have some other hardware differences (e.g. camera sensor) making them incompatible with this ROM.
Since I own W8 8GB version that came out in the very first batch, it is impossible for me to reproduce, debug and fix bugs that may appear on different or newer W8 models. I won't be providing any support nor bug fixes for these models!!! It is simply unmanageable for me! Thanks for understanding.
Therefore, you should rather consider sticking with the stock ROM and installing standalone GravityBox app which will basically introduce all the mods without actually having to flash any custom ROM. This approach avoids all the potential incompatibility issues you may have with non-official ROMs.
And remember, it's always YOUR decision when it comes to flashing ROMs or installing apps.
You should ALWAYS make a backup of stock rom before flashing anything on your device!!! I am getting too many personal message from people that didn't make a backup of stock ROM before flashing GM2 asking for help, which wastes a lot of my free time that could be used more efficiently (e.g. to work on GravityBox app)
Read carefully before you proceed
- full wipe is needed to upgrade from Android 4.1.2 or any other ROM that's not based on this one.
- returning to previous ROM that was backed up using custom recovery is possible only in case you used my ClockworkMod to backup your previous ROM.
All other custom recoveries will simply not work fully because they are not "MTK6589 friendly".
So I strongly recommend to flash my ClockworkMod and perform backup using this recovery before proceeding any further.

Don't even try It won't work.

Tried to install the compatibility fix that you uploaded.
Entered CWM>>Install Zip From sdcard>>Choose zip from sdcard
now I get a message that says:
"E:Can't mount /sdcard/"
how else can I install this file?
or any file actually..

CWM requires external SD card. It cannot install from internal storage.
You can just unzip the file and copy xml file into /system/etc/permissions
Set its permissions to 644 (rw r r)

It seems that not all widgets are displayed in the menu... Cannot even find'em. There's no possibility to put them on the desktop... But maybe that's because I restored them using TitaniumBackup (backups made on 4.1.2). It shouldn't be... Any Ideas?
Added: I tryied to romove an app and afterwards installed it again - no effect.

That's the withdraw of the stock launcher. Install e.g. Nova Launcher from playstore. It will allow you to install any widget when you long-touch the screen.

ROM installed, first positive impressions :
- very smooth UI,
- 4.2 Android is very nice
- no problem installing hot fix nor installing the ROM itself
- date & time settings bug corrected thanks to Sparcot tip
- I've installed the apk I use every day, no problem.
- Baseband seems to be improved, seems to work better that previous one, am I wrong ?
the "bugs" :
- we can see Eastcom logo at boot between ThL image and ThL animation
- there is no more music on ThL animation at boot
- proximity sensor : while taping phone number with digital pad (for instance a long tap on 1 for reaching my answering machine), then I wait for earing the voice of my answering machine and then I put the phone on my ear : the proximity sensor does not hide the screen fastly enough, and the contact between the ear and the screen taps on a number (3 for instance). this was not happening with ThL W8 original ROM. I've tried to see in engineer mode to catch a settings but can't find anything about that.

- eastcom logo is somewhere burried in new UBOOT image - nothing we can do about. We need this image to be able to have display working.
- original Eastcom rom doesn't have bootsound. But if you want one you can simply take it from original rom. It is in /system/media
I personally find the boot sound annoying so I am glad it's gone
- not sure about proximity. Seems to be working fine here

Minor Issues reported:
1) If you are gettings low volume on external speakers flash this. http://*******/MyHbv for volume. Not everyone is facing this issue.
2) No auto Brightness. This is not an issue, developers of this rom removed or didn't added this option because it drains battery. How? read this:
Consider this... when you set the phone to auto-brightness, the phone makes use of a sensor to judge the ambient (surroundings) brightness, then calculates (from a fixed set of values) what would be the optimum LCD brightness and then changes the brightness level. Everything that happens here takes up CPU cycles and hence, more battery would be used...If brightness is manually set, the phone does not make use of any sensor or calculate the ambient brightness so it would consume less CPU cycles and hence less battery use.Setting the brightness to the max at all times could make the above statement a moot point since max brightness means for power usage by the LCD and could basically mean more battery usage.Most often, I believe that auto-brightness battery usage is quite minimal... considering the fact that ambient brightness does not fluctuate too much for a particular timeframe when your display is on... I've not noticed much difference in battery drain in some random tests...
Use some third party app like Go Power or Viel Auto brightness if you still want this.
3) Storage menu in settings cannot be accessed. But what difference it makes? You just can't view capacity of SD-card. Update will be released if this issue is fixed.

How to Install Google Play Store
For FunTouch 1.2

In your phone go to Vivo App Store.
Type Google in the search box.
Install Google Play and Google Vivo (image below)
Go to Google Vivo app.
There will be 3 green bar.
Open the 1st bar it will install/load something (image below)
Next.
Open the 3rd bar. (image below)
A Message box appear and choose the left option. (image below)
This will download the Google Play Store.apk
Once complete, download and install it.
Note: In notification bar you can install it straight away)
(Apk Location is in SD card\下载\App)
Now you have Google Play Store.

Gmail Fix
For users who have "Unkown Issue With Google Play service".
Method 1
Install and run GMSCore.apk and clean data in GMail: Settings-> More settings-> Applications-> All-> Gmail-> Clear data

Ok, looks like many of you experience Gmail issue, since i got Gmail to work here is my full story.
After installing/flashing your Custom ROM.
Clear data/cache on Gmail.
Reinstall Gmail app in Play Store .
Freeze "Google Play services" using titanium backup.
Download APK link here and Install Google Play service 7.0.99.
Get gmail2.apk from ZIP 6.10.3/system/app or download link here
put Get gmail2.apk it with RootExplorer into /system/app.
Reboot.

Incase you're wondering vivoforums got shutdown.
Anyway.
I tried the lastest 2.0 Custom ROM v6.12.2 by Bine and Drov44.
Both can flash without factory reset.
Bine's v6.12.2 Custom ROM has Gmail issue, there is a fix for that and
Viper4android works.
Drov44's v6.12.2 Custom ROM Gmail is working so as Viper4android.
I can't get Xposed Framework to work for both ROM. Not sure this can work with wipe though.
So I had to return to 6.11.1. I need that Youtube Adway and Gravity Box.

Do you know why it was shut down?
I found bine on a Russian forum, not sure where everyone else went. I was hoping it was a short term problem. It's a pity it's gone as there was a lot of useful information for the Xshot and Xplay.

Yeah same. Lucky i saved most of my guide in a text document and Google Chrome Cached.
I already notice the RUS forum, can't seem to register.
Thailand Vivo Facebook is very active though.
So what ROM are you current using?

I'm still using 1.16.2. I am happy with the stability, all camera controls work as they should, too many complaints on the Chinese forums about deterioration in photo quality and the hard controls not working with zoom etc.
Also complaints about battery life was another factor for holding off.
Xposed framework is installed and all the modules are working. GPS is spot on, cell location works 100%, Google Playstore and services update without problems.
With Funtouch so heavily skinned, I see little point at this time to upgrade to Kitkat.
I did install Nova Launcher early on in my purchase, but saw no real gains in speed, and missed the layout and benefits of funtouch.
My wife has Lollipop on her Nexus 5,and having had a play with it, I don't think I'm missing out.
I will keep coming back to this thread as I may update when it looks like it's really worth it

Glad to found you here with the Xshot thread with you. Miss the Vivoforums. Anyway all is well now as I know you will keep this thread alive. Anything worth having in the new update (2.0 6.12.2)? Would like to have a crack on that MIUI Rom V6 as I have it in my MI2 but hate to flash & back if not that smooth as I'm expecting. Hope some people (Vivoforums members), will find this thread and can share their experience.

I don't know.
I'm on bine FunTouch 2.0 6.11.1 with a bit of modification like disable unwanted app, GPS fix and Gmail fix if you have. It's sufficient enough.
I find the GPS and Camera are working quite flawless but i'm no expert. The battery Screen On Time on FunTouch 2.0 is better than 1.2 in my opinion. I get 1 extra hour of Screen On Time.
For Nova launcher, i need the 5x5 home screen and the app drawer. Thus all my phone have Nova Launcher.
Agreed on the Lollipop. i tried CM 12.1, some of the feature is already featured in FunTouch 2.0.

For 2.0 6.12.2 update, i think it's minor so nothing interesting. I can't seem to install Xposed Framework on any Custom ROM running 2.0 6.12.2, so i decided to fall back to 6.11.1.
I'm in the same boat as you, just to lazy to flash MIUI ROM since you have to Factory Reset. Could Backup APPS only in TWRP Recovery and restore it but i never tried it.

I'm glad to know that we have this thread in xda. I didn't get any update and information for the last 4 month after vivoforum been shutdown. The website link you're providing is 100% Fake/Scam making users believe it's real.
Here's the reason.
- All duplicate content and put "device name"
- Putting ad survey means another red flag
- The comments are duplicate
Lollipop is still in progress i believe, just enjoy your current version you won't miss anything.
If you want to check any Lollipop update, Go to your OTA (Setting -> System Update) or Go to the Official Chinese Vivo Forum " http://bbs.vivo.com.cn/forum-138-1.html " to see any indication of Lollipop.

I've rooted my xshot. I try to update to rev 2.5.3, but after the download completed and I try to install it, it say need to boot into recovery mod (stock recovery). But when I boot to recovery mod there's nothing to install. Then I reboot to see if anything goes wrong, it just show the notification that my xshot got new update, need to download it again. I tried several time to update but still the same. So I decided want to flash any stable custom rom. So any suggestions? Which one I should try? V6.11 or V6.12? If I flash one of these rom can I just flash it without wipe data/factory reset? Can you please attached more screenshot?

All version are stable, but some have Gmail issue there is a fix for that but require extra time and cannot install Xposed Framework etc.
Bine 6.10.3 - No issue.
Drov44 6.10.3 - I haven't tried it, should be ok.
Bine 6.11.1 - Has Gmail issue.
Drov44 6.11.1 - No issue according to users.
Bine 6.12.2 - Has Gmail Issue and Can't install Xposed Framework.
Drov44 6.12.2 - Can't install Xposed Framework.
You MUST Wipe/Factory Reset if you are coming from any Chinese and International FunTouch 1.2
If you're on Any Chinese 2.0 Custom ROM if can flash with NO Wipe/Factory Reset. Example are you're on FunTouch 2.0 v6.9.7 Custom ROM, it can Flash 6.9.8, 6.10.3, 6.11.1, 6.12.2 with no Wipe/Factory reset but if you are experiencing problem if might have to factory reset.

How to Install
Installation via a custom recovery (TWRP, CWM) do a reset, clean the dalvik cache and select the zip on внутренней(внеш.sd map) install, reboot the system.

It would be more cool if we have pure cm12 rom without funtouch. Hope somebody can provide it for us xshot user.

I never have touch distortion issue, probably use a different keyboard might solve it.
I'm really confused of your situation. Just answer those question below might help.
What current ROM you're using right now?
Is your device Rooted?
What current Recovery do you have?
What's the desire ROM you want to flash/install?

Yes I rooted my device using towelroot.apk,
I used twrp,
My desire rom is cm rom that have cm function like my old s4, they used to have plenty of rom that based on cm.
Let us forget about it. Now this is my current situation.
I flashed funtouch OS 2.0 6.12.2rus. I love the new ui.
The problem is...
Battery drain too fast,
Cannot use other launcher,
Can't detect flashdrive,
Didn't have option to select 3g only,
Others work perfectly. By the way, about my touch distortion it is because I used my powerbank damaged USB cable. I tried with other cable and it's working, but when I unplug the cable, the distortion still there. Thanks again for providing this thread buddy ?
Hopefully they solve the battery drain problem for the future update.

Did you Root your phone at 1.16 using Towelroot.apk?
For Battery life
You just flash a ROM recently, probably need to wait couple of days to judge the battery life. Does the battery drain by standby?
To change launcher
Go to Imanager -> App mgt -> Default App Setting -> The Default Desktop -> Now select your Launcher
I can connect a 8GB flashdrive using OTG cable working fine.
And 1TB Portable Hard Drive using the OTG Y cable it needs power though so i plug one of the Y cable in to a Power-bank. Working fine.
To connect 3g only is to go to Setting -> Mobile Network -> Network Mode -> Select 3G(pref)/2G
I can't comment about the Touch Distortion issue, never experience this before.
