About the internal storage of the device - RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I would like to know, owners of the Razr HD.
Is the internal space storage considered as an SD card, making the real SD an "external SD card" or a SD card 2"?
Thx.

Makes it a external sd card.

sdcard0 and sdcard is internal. Sdcard1 and external1 is external removable card.

Installing app bigger than SD

Hello there, I would like to know if it is possible to install an app which full size is bigger than your sd? In my case I want to install nova3 but my sd card is only 2gb(actually 1.8) and nova takes 2gb of space. Since the Atrix 2 installs directly to sd card is it impossibly for me to play it unless I buy a bigger sd card?
I tried to look this up but nothing showed up...
Thanks beforehand

Sandisk Micro SDXC 64GB in Photon Q

For anyone thinking about buying a Micro SDXC for their Photon Q...
I can confirm it works on my XT897! (See attached pic!)
Sandisk Part#: SDSDQUA-064G-U46A
This is the Class 10 card, not the cheaper class 6 card.
Nice! As of right now i dont have a need for storage that high so i'm still rocking my 16GB class 6, but that's definitely good to know.
Nice.. ima buy one.. did you have to reformat it in the phone? Or you put it in and it was ready to go?

I, too have a 64GB SanDisk and it works just fine. Only issue is it sometimes causes the phone to think the SD card is corrupted when I take it out of mass storage mode, but popping the SD card into my computer and running a disk checker tends to make that stop.

Yes, I did. Originally the phone said the SD card was corrupt (it had an exFAT partition).

I am joining the GS3 Crowd!

Hello,
I just wanted to say hi! I currently have a HTC EVO for sprint and was going to buy the N4....but after the N4 going out of stock in less than 20 minutes in the US today, I have decided to get the SG3 for verizon this weekend. I can't wait to buy and root! Looking forward to the SG3 and the great dev community at XDA!
Welcome! We have some great stuff going on, and JellyBean is leaking out!
Thanks! and I am looking forward to JB for sure!

welcome on board. Here are some tips before you start. Backup your IMEI and unlock the bootloader before flashing any ROMs.
Hoping to snag mine on black Friday from Sam's club. Love the dev support this phone is getting.

I honestly don't see why everyone has such a problem with no SD card slot on phones. You really need to carry so much info with you in your pocket?
That's what I have a computer for. And dropbox/Google drive.
I wish more phone makers would move away from slots and removable batteries. The phones would be more sleek and have more room for other features

I agree 100%.
I was immediately interested in this phone until I saw these two items.
I could probably live with the limited storage, but I will NEVER buy a phone with a non-removeable battery.

I can understand that, but I've actually already filled up my 32gb gs3. Even still 16gb isn't bad and I personally don't care too much about a non removable battery. However, the dna's battery sounds relatively small for the high spec guts it has plus that 1080 lcd.
That's also not to mention how bleak the prospect of development seems. Not to bash it, but the gs3 still has some pros

I'm already suffering the issues of low memory with my 16GB of space. Downloaded Need for Speed Most Wanted and that took a large chunk of space. already have other games that are taking up 7GB of space alone. then god forbid if i want to download some lossless songs from Spotify. thats almost 400MB an album. I can't put that on the SD card, unless i'm missing something in the way spotify saves music.
So Yes. I do need to carry that much info on my phone.

In a word, yes. All of my music is FLAC encoded; my 32GB S3 is totally full, and the 32GB MicroSD I have in it has about 3GB left, and that's just from about 50-100 albums. Honestly, I'd love a 128GB MicroSD right now... plus where I am 3G is unusable (40KB/s down D: ) and thus streaming makes absolutely no sense for me. No SD card slot makes any phone a no-buy for me.

Its not 16gb its really
11gb useable storage.
I just cant live with that.
GOOGLE and LG did the same thing with the Nexus 4
Conspiracy time: why put so little storage?
Maybe to force people to use PAY cloud based storage like Drive and backup assistant.
Dont forget the data charges store and access those GB of cloud data.
Games nowdays can be over a gig and I have 6gb+ of music. Not everyone wants to use the cloud to stream music and movies. Not only does it kill your battery but if you are in a bad area for signal you are SOTL. I also always have some movies on my phone for my 3 year old when we go out to dinner it keeps her calm. I have a 32gb gs3 and a 64gb card I don't have to worry about space on my phone.

exactly what i was thinking!
I should have added this: I wish phone makers would move away from SD card slots, however, give higher internal storage options.
Like I said before, I personally have no use for large storage space because I have my laptop for that. Plus my car has a built in hard drive for music and that's really the only time I listen to music. I can see how other users fill up fast, though. 128GB GS4, anyone? Lol

No, there isn't any additional software to install. HOWEVER I would recommend putting it into your computer and formatting it FAT 32. This should make it readable by your TF.
Side note : I am seeing a LOT of this trend lately, with mostly off name brand cards. Neither myself nor my mother have experienced any of these issues with SD cards.

Solved! Have a tf101 won't see 64 gb micro sdcard

How do I from Android on my note 3 tell what format that I formatted it in?
Can't find a smaller one laying around the house.
I'm sure I have one.
I was just wanting to upgrade the rom to the newer omnirom.

Sigh forgot Google hates external storage and does not like exfat.
You know I almost went bonkers wondering why it wouldn't see an 8gb card from my camera...
Fat32 baby oh yeah.
