Why not both?
it depands on how much data you want to carey aournd with your infinity
I went with one 32gb microsd and 64gb SD Card that I laying around and provides all of the storage I need. I do have a 500 DB external HD but don't use it. I love that both cards sit flush into the transformer infinity unlike the prime I had previously.
i have a 64gb micro, and a 64gb sd in mines. Plus i have a couple of usb thumb drives. Do you plan to take the portable every where you go?

Thanks for all your replies. But mainly I was thinking of just using the portable hard drive to watch large file mkv movies.

What is your 64 Gb µSD card ?
I noticed that some people had problems with 64 Gb µSD... I was going to buy a 32 Gb Class10 but if your 64 Gb works, it changes everything !

the SD works fine. No issues with that at all. Its in the dock.
The microsd, when formatted to ntfs or exfat32, gives me issues when copying stuff to it. so i reformatted to fat32 until a fix comes out.

I have one of those, but cannot get it to work, even if formatted to FAT32.
What allocation unit size did you use ?
Depends on how much storage you need, I prefer to have an microSD card in the tablet and an SD card in the dock all the time for easily removable storage.
Another factor you should consider is the filesystem. NTFS performs rather poorly under Android in general and under Infinity's .26 firmware in particular, so I'd go with exFAT on any external storage you'll be using with it.

I wish also to buy the same product but i'm afraid to buy with ebay or other seller and to receipt a fake or bad copy ... I'm from Belgium and i search the best secure seller for me ...
Your SD card is in classe 10 but for the micro SD Sandisk, it's only classe 6 ==> micro sd in classe 10 doesn't work with TF700 ?
Why do you want so much space? My 700 has a 32GB micro SD, and I barely fill it up. In the dock, I have a 64gb Class 10 and I dont even touch it. Are you storing lots of music and videos? See, I keep my videos at home on Plex Media Server and stream to my tablet. I just keep a couple local ones for if I'm out of range of the interwebs. I also keep a couple of gbs of music on the micro-SD, but most of it is up on Google Music and/or dropbox.

Class doesnt matter to much when in the device. Its more for when transferring to and from a PC. Try buying from Amazon or Newegg.

Not true. It does matter, my sequential reads and writes are up to 2x faster with a class 10 microSD card than on a class 4 card, same capacity.
I realize this might not be entirely helpful but my honest choice is neither. This is simply because I have no need for even 64GB of storage on my tablet. I don't store movies on my tablet.
If I absolutely had to choose, then I would easily pick the SD card. One reason, obviously, is because I don't even need the 64GB in the first place, let alone 500GB. The other reason is because of portability. You can just stick the SD card in there and leave it in. Don't have to worry about carrying around the hard drive or forgetting it.
1 TB Oyen Digital Drive. $119.99 shipped and Prime eligible.
Not many people are familiar with Oyen but I have a couple of their drives and I love 'em. Very thin form factor and the ones I own have been reliable thus far (almost a year since first purchase). WD drives in Oyen bodies.
I actually don't own the one I listed here, but I'm sure it's just as good as their others. This is the latest USB 3 and looks like its in the same chassis as the others I have (thin and sleek).
Hello there, I would like to know if it is possible to install an app which full size is bigger than your sd? In my case I want to install nova3 but my sd card is only 2gb(actually 1.8) and nova takes 2gb of space. Since the Atrix 2 installs directly to sd card is it impossibly for me to play it unless I buy a bigger sd card?
I tried to look this up but nothing showed up...
Thanks beforehand

32 gigs for 11 bucks was a seriously good deal
I bought a MicroSDXC class 10 64GB card. When the phone loads it reads it just fine. When I try and use CWM or TWRP to make a backup to the external card it doesn't find that it's mounted. When I had my 32GB class 10 card I didn't have this issue. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hmm if you go FAT32 you can't copy movies of over 4GB to the device can you. My movies are mkv files of 8-10 GB.

Ya I think you're right. So it would seem either backup to internal or use a different one to hold backups

Would be nice if the devs fixed this issue. We should be allowed to baccup to either file system.

It's not a "fix" issue. It hss to do with the fact that exFAT is Microsoft proprietary, so you can't legally use it without paying MS for a license. The recovery makers don't want to run afoul of the MS legal dept

No, there isn't any additional software to install. HOWEVER I would recommend putting it into your computer and formatting it FAT 32. This should make it readable by your TF.
Side note : I am seeing a LOT of this trend lately, with mostly off name brand cards. Neither myself nor my mother have experienced any of these issues with SD cards.
Anybody else with a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB class 10 / UHS-1 find the write speeds slow?
I'm pretty sure it's a genuine part. It's at 8 MB/s write with my laptop

So getting close to the advertised speed, like I have with every other SanDisk, is unreasonable?
Your sdcard works right? Slow or fast it works right? I'd be happy.

My card seemed to work fairly well until it crapped out. SanDisk is sending a new one out so I'll test it out once I get it.

That's like buying a brand new sports car with a turbo boost leak and then being like "oh well". My 2.3 GB nandroid backups take about 13 mins. So TWRP is writing much slower.
I suggest checking my thread on the SD card you may need to reformat it and clean it up. Also try ROM toolbox pro to turn the write speed up. I write at 55 MB a sec
