Unable to get out of roaming - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Before people say there are other threads, I have not been able to have any luck with those.
First I tried the Odin Proper Rooted Stock image and proceeding to type in *2767*3855#. That didn't do anything. It would flash the hollow triangle above my signal but then just solid R after using the code.
I also tried the VRALG1 version and still no luck.
I tried going back to a backup from a month ago with titanium back up on CM10. Still no help.
I looked at taking the sim card out and telling the CDMA not to be on NV, however my phone was already selected on the other choice.
I installed CM 10.1 and registered without sim card, and then then rebooted with sim card in. Nope
Now I didn't see anyone with quite the same deal where if I was on wifi I can make phone calls and text. The moment I go off though it reverts to roaming.
Any ideas?

Yea I am on Verizon. I'm using the 10.1.0 stable release of cyanogenmod. Running Clockwork 6.0.3.1. But I had tried stock with root and stock with no root 4.0.4 and 4.1.1. Baseband I535VRLF2. I used Ez-unlock for bootloader. How do I find my PRL and ERI?

PRL = 15233
MEID all 0's
IMEI = 0
DIdn't see the ERI

So I updated my towers to the MB1 and now on the settings of mobile network settings -> system select -> home only, I can text and have 4g at the same time. Still not able to make phone calls unless I set the system select to automatic then I can make roaming calls. However, after about 30 minutes it goes back to roaming and sometimes it goes back, or I have to switch into airplane mode to reset it.
On MD3 it was like MF1 where on home only I could use 4g but no texting or calling. Then vice versa on automatic I could text and make roaming calls without 4g.
When I looked at section D repair, I clicked the link and it said it was an invalid location.

if you can, get your hands on the xda samsung repair utility...it will fix it

struggling to find and answer
For a few days I've been trying to figure out how to fix my roaming issue. I had an imei number, then ran a program that set it to zero. I used QPST to write it back to the phone. my phone shows no ERI version. I am currently not able to call out but I do have internet access and can receive texts. I've bee searching the internet for the "xda Samsung repair utility" program, but I've been unable to find it. If you've found it and it works, please let me know where I can get it. Thanks

The only thing I see for repairing the ERI involves that XDA Samsung Repair Utility which I cannot find.

[Q] Problem : No call, no SMS, but 3G ok

Hello, I have a big problem with my Nexus S Eur (I9023 SLCD)
I bought it used but almost new, and no bill…
The phone, not modified, worked fine for 3 months. (2.3.4 GRJ22)
But one day I could no longer use the calls and SMS, while the Internet connection (3G) worked fine.
The majority of other sim cards are not properly recognized, but mine yes, it recognize the PIN code, the network (Numericable, a French MVNO), and correctly read the APNs. I can go on the net with data connection, but no call, no sms… (No MMS in the subscription I chose)
I tried to restore it with ODIN like I read here, it worked fine, but same problem.
I tried Custom ROM, custom Kernels, I tried ALL the radios of the I9023, no change…
When I call, no error it just hangs up the phone.
SMS, it says sms was not sent
The only one error I can read is, when I want to consult the call forwarding settings : “Network or SIM card error”
Any idea?
If the phone is a stolen one, and if the IMEI is blacklisted (3 months after?!?), is it normal that I still use the 3G connection?
The simcard work fine in my old phone
Thanks !
PS : sorry for my english, I do the best I can
No idea?
Maybe Hardware problem?
is the phone rooted?
try the *#*#3646#*#* to select your correct baseband settings.
When the problem started, the phone was rooted
After, I tried rooted and unrooted
With the 4636 I can access to the list of the baseband settings (now GSM/CDMA Auto (PRL) ), but if I change it (GSM only for exemple), it is not saved.... It doen't say anything, but if i quit the 4636 screen and return to it, it is GSM/CDMA Auto again....

[q] evo 4g flashing to cricket frm sprnt

ok how are you guys doing? Me, well I'm stick trying to flash the EVO 4G to cricket....
steps that I have taken, are basically:
1. Rooted the phone (showin S-OFF)
2. followed all the setting configuration on forums to flash phone using QPST and CDMA workshop.
3. Uploaded the cricket.xml (with MY #) to phone, via APN backup & restore.
4. Flashed the rom to GB sense.
5. Called cricket to put phone is System.. And basically following everything on like three different guides. Excellent guides at that.
To make a long story short, I somehow enabled the WEB, but text, talk, and MMS does not work.... I've went over my values in QPST about 100 times, but evrytime I try to make a call it just loses signal. And if roaming enables during the call, Verizon customer service will answer the call. I tried to turn-off roam. But it just loses signal. Cant text as well or recieve text. However, the internet is good .

[Q] Not registered on network after 4.1.2 installation.

Hey all,
I have a Samsung S3 which I bought today, the guy I bought it from said he originally bought it on the Vodafone network (UK) but he had unlocked it. When I put in my T-Mobile sim in it worked fine, the phone was running on Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4. I installed Jelly Bean 4.1.2 after watching a Youtube video successfully.
However, when I put it my sim card, I can use the phone but it says 'not registered on network' when I try to make a call, and when I pull down the menu it says 'emergency calls only'. Internet works fine on WiFi.
I checked the Imei number, its all correct apart from the last two digits have changed, which I checked with the Box I got it with. What have I done? I am a noob at these things I hope I haven't messed up my phone Please help.
You should verify a few things. Are you 100% positive that you installed a tmobile rom? There are many varients for the gs3. For example i'm on atat, I can flash a sprint rom which will boot up but I cannot get data to continuously work. If that doesnt apply then go to settings menu>wireless&network>mobile network. U should see an option for selecting network provider. Select manual search and give it a few minutes to find the networks and choose your network. Reboot the phone after and it should be good to go. If after that you don't have data service then you need to verify the apn it's correct. It's located in the same mobile network menu. Good luck.

Always Roaming

I just rooted, unlocked bootloader, and flashed some custom roms yesterday on my second S3, and for some reason I am now always "roaming" so I don't have any cell service or data. Can anyone help?
Check to see if you've lost your imei and eri. Go to Settings>About Phone>Status. Your imei should read the number under your battery and your eri should say 5. If they say zero and none respectively you've lost them. Let me know if that's what's wrong and I'll point you in the right direction. I'm currently at work right now. Should be home in just over an hour.

check your mobile network settings and make sure to uncheck the two roaming setting then make sure your mode is on CDMA+LTE/EVDO and system select to home only and cdma subscription to NV then turn on airplane mode then turn it off and change the NV to RUIM/SIM
I had a similar issue when I flashed to a Carbon Rom nightly (I think 9/10). Anyway try sending an MMS message to someone. If it can get through, 4G LTE works. You are having an issue with 3G and/or CDMA. Now I tried these steps that SlimSnoopOS suggested. None of them worked for me, but hopefully they work for you.
If they don't I'd flash back to complete stock. If data is STILL not working something that oddly worked for me was TriangleAway. My binary flash counter had been tripped and after running TriangleAway my mobile data came back. Not too sure on that one...

Many people have posted issues with LTE where their cellular signal was fine for "2G" functions like calls and texts.
I'm having the opposite problem. After leaving airplane mode (landing at an airport today), I have a "No Service" message in the status bar drop down (notification tray), and the Settings>Network information page shows "Not Registered." However, I do have an IMEI (see details below). However, LTE data works perfectly fine.
I've obviously tried changing the settings in Settings>Mobile Data (preferred network to Global / LTE / LTE/legacy 3GPP mode) connection type global/auto/LTE/etc), to no avail. If LTE is connected it works flawlessly, but I cannot make calls or texts, and show not registered on the network. Data roaming is set to deny, but even allowing roaming does not change the situation.
Before this happened, I HAD gone through all the XTended Settings, and even 'looked' at (but did NOT change) some advanced settings pages, including the 'hidden' HTC network info page ( *#*#4636#*#* ). Again, however, I didn't change anything -- unless by accident?!
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Anyone know if I may have inadvertently changed something and can change it back (a setting that would persist in the hardware through NANDROID restores and factory resets...). Or, any other advice to restore the cellular service connection to normal?
I've tried a full NANDROID restore (multiple times) to a working copy, and a factory reset. I have limited access to a PC since I'm traveling, so re-flashing the VZW firmware or stock recovery or lollipop/verizon RUU would be challenging.
I did spend a good 45 minutes (at a library, my only PC access!) searching the forums and web, but to no avail.
Settings information:
OPperator Name: Verizon
Signal Strength -114 (I've had better but still have the same issues)
Mobile Network type: LTE
Service state: In service
IMS service state: Not Registered
Roaming: Not Roaming
Phone Identity page:
IMEI shows up (15-digit number...how can I verify I didn't mess this up?)
Phone Number is correct
IP Address: 100.66..... (looks good)
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
Same here
I'm having the same issue. When i try to make a call my LTE bars drop to nothing and it says call failed no network available. Any ideas or help would be nice. I was using venom rom as well. I'm currently trying to flash the newest RRU to see if that resets things. I'm wondering if it somehow my sim card. I took it from my droid turbo. I've made sure to turn off advanced calling on my VZW account though.

I had this same issue, running from ruu then rooted. I didn't noticed until I started seeing voice mail notifications but never heard the phone ring. When I tried to dial out I got the immediate call lost message. I couldn't figure what was causing it so I just did a reset. I made sure not to restore any systems data from prior to the Lollipop upgrade. At this point everything is working, the only thing I haven't installed yet is the xposed framework and sense 6 toolbox.

What kind of reset did you do? I know my issue is slightly different, but I did a full RUU-flash yesterday (latest lollipop version) and still no luck. Unfortunately I'm out of the country now and access to a computer is limited, and I don't even have a SIM card yet to check if cellular service would work anyway.
I do intend to do a flash of the stock recovery and radios once I have the time and access, but that may be a while...
Still, I'll keep checking this thread to see if anyone posts any other options

Just go into settings and to Backup & Reset , this will return your phone to a fresh install and remove all non bundled apps.
Before doing the reset try going into Settings then Call then change Preferred Network to Global, or toggle from LTE then back to Global.
