Bumper Case or Full Back Case - Nexus 4 Accessories

Hi Guys,
Do you think thr bumper case for Nexus 4 is good compare to full back case ?
I am currently using Capdase Touch case as shown on the link
http://www.capdase.com/en/product5.php?cid=1&bid=23&mid=3737&pid=34328
However i really love the looks og nexus 4 and dont want to cover the beauty but i also want to protect the device.
To the nexus 4 users who have this dumper case, pls give your comment.
Thanks.

as far as i know a case weakens the signal.

Bumper + dbrand skin ftw :good:

Well a bumper will pretty much just protect the screen and back from laying flat on the ground and a full back case will protect from falls. If you want a little more protection I recommend the full back case

Ringke fusion sounds like the way to go for you. I have both. I am currently on the bumper and dbrand custom skin setup.

I also have the ringke fusion and its good.

Case that shows off the back?

Because the back of the N4 is so nice i don't want to hide it.
Is there any cases with clear backs. I've seen some cases that are two tone, but the are mostly cloudy/blurry.
Anyone seen any good ones?
Cut one open........

Same. I want one too. My ideal case is...the back is transparent. Lol

I think I'm going bumper and full body screen protectors to see how that works. I usually have my phones naked, but this seems like it would scratch too easy without the fully body screen protectors.
I ordered full body protection. Thinking I might wait for speck or incipio to launch a case or else get a bumper

I ordered something like this http://www.amazon.com/KaysCase-Shel...8&qid=1353635692&sr=8-8&keywords=nexus+4+case
We'll see how clear it is. I think i got a i-blason version though....

I'm going the same route. I already have the bumper and I love it. The back is too slippery though so I'm going full body protector.

The guys at tech21 said they're going to release a case or the n4
They're impact bands are bumpers with an optional clear plastic backplate

I have the EXACT same issue and I think bumper should take care of the problem perfectly.
I want the bumper too but it's not available for order on play store.

I do as well but im not sure if its going to give me enough protection because your only sure to be safe if you drop it on a totally flat surface.
Here in Australia we can order the bumper but $19.99 + $10 shipping.
So essentially a 50% tax. And you can only order 1 so no split shipping

Bumpers are the only kind of cases theoretically that show off the back, right? Other than cases that have a transparent back?

That's kind of what I want, a case with a truly transparent back, but it might not have the same glinting effect, I'm not sure.
Bumper with optional transparent back would be cool
http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/apple-iphone/iphone-5/iphone-5-case-linear-metal-crystal.html
this kind of case do the same job.
But I doubt this company will make one for N4

Check out the cases from tech21! Their impact band seems like exactly what we need. Someone here said they would be making Nexus 4 cases, if I recall correctly. Source? Maybe we need to "pressure" them. But that's the case I'm waiting for.

Diztronic Hardshell Case VIDEO+WRITTEN REVIEW

Nexus 4 Diztronic Hardshell Case Review
$9.99- Amazon Link
$9.99- Diztronic Link
Design
5/5
First of all, this case is EXTREMELY thin. It's only 1mm thin, making it 25% thinner than the original TPU case. The back has a non glossy Diztronic logo on it and a slot cut open for the camera and speakers. It is a bit slippery, but won't catch lint on it or attract finger prints. Unlike other shell cases, this one isn't hard to take in and out. However, you definitely want to take it out periodically to make sure debris doesn't get caught in it and scratch the case. The edges of the case just barely go over the screen making a bit of a "lip". The lip is barely there and you may be able to fit a screen protector on it. The buttons are left exposed on the case making pressing the power button and volume rockers very easy.
Protection
4/5
This case does a decent job at protecting the phone while still keeping a thin profile. The top and bottom of the case are left somewhat vulnerable, yet I understand how it would be tough to cover that part while making the case a "hardshell". Keep in mind this case is only 1mm thick, so I'm grading the protection based on the case's target audience.
Final Verdict
4.5/5
This may be the thinnest case to ever hit the market. At $9.95 you get a lot of bang for your buck; this is a high quality case made with premium materials. You can tell Diztronic took the time to make sure they got everything right. This case is so thin you won't even notice it while still giving you some protection.
Great reviews. Thanks for taking the time to post these.

That's a tough question. If protection is more important than go for the TPU. Honestly, they're both great; I just can't decide.
Protection is very important as I tend to screw up sometimes diztronic ones seem to be the best ones available right now. So, what do you suggest? I know the TPU one is pretty awesome too!

lightest case

what is the lightest case for our n4? i have a nillkin frosted case but it added a significant weight to it. so significant that i strained my pinky that supports the phone when i hold it with one hand. i would go naked but i place my phone on the table often so i want to protect it atleast from scratches at the back glass. thanks

I can say Poetic Borderline.
Rearth Slim or Hybrid.
Definitely Rearth Slim...

This works great. However, in my case it eventually started to peel just enough to about me. So I put my bunker back on also so there's no way to peel at the edges.

dbrand back and bumper vs full case

as of right now I'm using the ringke fusion case but I'm not liking the bulky size, how easily broken is the back when it comes to bumper plus the skin for antiscratch or suck it up and use the case?
also can anyone recommend thinner case for the n4?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
If you want true see through case you only have the rinkle and the bumper
If your not looking for true see through look for some transparent tpu cases out this plastic ones
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I have the black leather d band skin and a poetic black bumper. Looks great. Prevents scratches. I rarely drop my phone, and when I have I felt the bumper defiantly helped from scuffing up the sides. I hate cases. Hopefully the n5 will not be do fragile, so in can go naked like I normally do.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
all though the bumper will add width to the device.. if you have small hands it might be an issue, like it did for me lol. Ive been wanting to try the poetic bumper but cant seem to find on amazon nor ebay, the color i want that is.
Also, the back is not drop protected with the dbrand skin, even tho you wont see it if its cracked either. So its a win win

the best life proof case?

withc you think us the best?
the obex
http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung-galaxy-s4-obex-waterproof-case-black-p/cswssgs4-br.htm
or the lifeproof?
http://www.lifeproof.com/en/galaxy-s4-nuud/
I like the life proof name more personally. I'm just being biased to the brand however I will add that I'd rather have the flat black design too

I bought the Nuud for the S4. I personally really love it. Not because the **** is expensive but lighter than my Otterbox Defender AND it's such a better design than my prior LifeProof for the iPhone 5. If you have anyquestions please ask. Tag me in the question so ill see it.

How is the sound? During a call and the back speaker? Do you think it would work with a thin class screan protector?

During sound playback you can tell a difference from not having the case in but it's not a huge let down like it was with my iPhone 5 Life Proof. As far as voice feedback in the ear goes it does take the noise canceling a second to catch up so on the first ring or so it sounds distorted but it quickly fixes itself. It's not making calls or listening to music. No more opening the bottom hatch to make sure someone can hear me. And as far as the plastic cover goes if you're meaning a screen protector like invisible shield then it will fit. They provide you an optional screen protector to put on (I used it). I do intend on investing in a better one later, probably Ghost Armor. Lmk if you have anything else

Thank you, and I'm asking if you think a tempered glass screen protector would fit on there with the case and still seal? I have the mime feather glass on my phone and its very thin for a glass protector, not much thicker than the usual plastic ones.

I just purchased the version without a screen protector built in. The nuud I believe. I have a Mime glass protector (not the thinnest one, but the one with rounded edges) and it fits. Now, I havent tested it because Im not going to submerge my phone just to find out on purpose, BUT it appears to fit and seal normally. ill try to get some pics for you later when I get off work,
Short answer, yes it fits.....

The Obex is good at waterproofing. It's got some cons tho. I reckon the LifeProof will be less bulky. The Obex makes the notification bar hard to pull down cuz it covers the part above the screen. I don't really like the plastic screen protector of the Obex case also. But it's still a good case to consider!

I'm not to happy with my obex anymore. The screen protector is pretty crappy, the case scratches fairly and the colored parts get dirty. I had it on for a while and I'm very careful with my phone and its all marked up case and screen protector. And the protecter isn't that clear either. Yeah it's good that tue case is scratched and not the phone but my otterbox commuter has been on my phone for a lot longer and still looks good.
