Ok, I must have done something to cause this... when I boot up the mighty TF300T it says "english" across the screen for a few moments.. I took a quick look in the language settings but nothing leapt out... any ideas on how to turn this notification off would be great thanks!
The same happens here, with Português (Portugal).
Same here...I just reset my tablet and noticed it at the first set up screen as well...not a huge deal but I would like it gone as well.
Mine used to do that for a while after I first got it but has since stopped. I don't know for sure what stopped it but the best I could come up with was when I updated to firmware 30 that may have done it.

Do you see the ASUS logo when you boot up the tablet? Can you describe it a little better please?
Do you use ASUS's keyboard (for the on-screen keyboard, that is)? Every time I rebooted my Transformer it said slovenčina (which almost means Slovenian, since I'm using that layout) but stopped once I switched to Thumb keyboard.
Hey you could be on to something there. I switched to the jellybean keyboard. Perhaps that's what stopped it.

you know why? because its the London Olympic opening ceremony, and its dam proud...

It is indeed due to Asus keyboard. Changing to other keyboard stops it.
Observed it once I installed Swype

Hi, after I updated my Infinity with JB, I noticed the screen ocasionaly flickers, like for half a second one random line of pixels on the left side turns black, and other distortions, very ocasionaly and quick. Is anyone having problems like this?

yeap, sometimes a white horizontal line appears for a second o less in my tablet. I have to tell you that I don't have yet "the buttery" in it. Waiting to have time for a factory reset to improve the performance.
I saw other posts from the prime and the infinity as well, that after a while it gets worse, and a factory reset doesn't help at wall. I whant to resolve this without having to exchange it. I'm sick of having to go to the store and exchanging it. It's my 3rd Infinity.

I have not had what you described above happen to eithor the TF101 or TF201 I had prior to my current TF700T. My TF700T has not shown any of the issue you described after my upgrade to JB. It sounds like something you should take up with Asus right away since it could be a hardware issues and would be covered by your warranty.
anyone else?

I also get a screen flicker since upgrading to Jellybean on my
rooted TF700. I suppose I'll try a factory reset and will report back.

I also get it....was wondering of it was just me. I got my new infinity a couple days before the JB update so I wasn't sure if it was a result or not.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using XDA Premium HD app
Yes, it's a JB issue. I've only had it happens once, not seen it since.
It's just screen tearing. Happens on a pc, too, although there videocard drivers have Vsync options to forcefully match the refreshrate from the program to the screen to prevent screentearing. I suspect there's a difference between JB and the Transformer's refreshrate.
We're using an Nvidia card, has anyone send Nvidia a message? (I don't have the problem anymore, so I can't make a support ticket...) More likely to work than wait for Google or Asus to notice.
Also, I don't have root nor unlocked, but tp anyone who has, is there a way to change the refresh rate manually?
Should I do a factory reset after updating to JB? I noticed that it got faster, etc... But was wondering if it would still improve after a factory reset. If yes, how do I do a factory reset? And is there a way to have my infinity exactly the way it was (wallpapers, configurations, apps, etc.)?
So I shouldn't return my infinity? If it's a software problem... I'm sick of having to return this model.

I also have problems with my tf 700 after last update... tf 700 is having sistem freezing and restarting.

I have also the same issue than OP. I contacted Asus by email to try and figure out what's wrong. I got the tablet on Monday and upgraded to JB right away, so I don't know if the problem was there before in ICS. But reading this thread I think that it's related to JB. It's a "good thing" though, because this is my second TF700 and I don't want to send it back, again. The first one had a very white spot in the middle of the screen..*. But no flickering black lines issue.
So, you guys think that they can fix this with the next release?
I'm getting this too from time to time. Very annoying!

Are any of you setting options in Settings->Developer Settings? I have heard that the "Force GPU rendering" option was causing random reboots for some.

I'm really not sure then. Personally, I haven't had a singe reboot and/or SOD though, so it must be something specific to the setup for the folks that are having this problem. If you really want to figure it out, I'd suggest a factory reset and try running the tablet without installing all of your apps/tweaks at the same time.
How often does this happen? Can you try running a "bare-bones" setup and see if it still occurs? If not, then slowly start introducing your specific apps/tweaks one (or a few) at a time. Yes, it's a pain, but it's the only way to diagnose such issues... Have you tried looking at logcat outputs at all? That's another way to try and diagnose the problem. These types of issues are very hard to troubleshoot - it's a slow, tedious process. But, since most folks aren't seeing random reboots and or "sleep of death" issues, it is fixable (unless it's a hardware problem, of course).
So, here's a few questions that might help troubleshoot:
1. Has this always happened on your device or only since upgrading to Jelly Bean?
2. How often does it typically happen?
3. Have you tried installing Jelly Bean from scratch (not upgrading ICS)?
4. Are you installing your apps "fresh" or are you restoring them via Titanium backup (or some other backup app)?
Again, there is no quick, easy solution to this type of problem....

There's another thread going on this too.
I had a few lines and flickering day before yesterday, haven't seen this at all the last 2 days.
Another poster on XDA had mentioned that new OTAs take some time to settle down.

I'm back to ICS. Since I never ran my tablet with it (got it and upgraded right away), I want to make sure it's not hardware related. So far, no black lines... I won't upgrade to JB until they solve this!!!
I tried searching but couldn't find anything:
I have an unlocked/rooted/custom ROM'd TF300T. I don't have any issues, but just have a concern when rebooting or powering up: the Asus / Unlocked device splash screen sometimes becomes distorted, especially around the top left hand corner of the screen. Once it goes to the Asus splash screen, all is well. Is this something to be concerned about?
I had this happen to me it didnt seem to be a problem. I fixed it by reflashing the rom and kernel i was running after i wiped. Hope this helps

Also, are you running a tf700 kernel? That is known to cause a distortion where " This device is unlocked" is.

I had the same problem when I used Clemsyn 1,7GHz kernel.
Asus Global on Facebook has posted that tf700 would be updated to android 4.2 today. So lets keep hitting that check update.

Thanks! I've been lurking in the forums waiting for this. I'm just divided as to whether I should wait and see how it goes for others, or just download the update and see for myself. Not because I'm afraid of bricking (locked & unrooted here) but because 4.2 did have some issues initially on other platforms...
Anyhoo - thanks ASUS!

I don't think you should be fearing that much about bricking your device. There are a few unlucky people brick their devices every time there's an update.
I wouldn't flash the update on an unlocked device. That is how some TF300 users bricked their devices. Wait for Asus to put up the full rom.
I'm just going to wait. Mainly because a lot of apps aren't 4.2 optimized yet. I'm not afraid of bricking since i'm full stock, but I always have bad luck with updates of all sort.

now im really ticked off. the one option i was looking forward to in 4.2 was the ability to use the nexus 10 launcher instead of the current launcher they gave this option to the tf300 users just updated to 4.2 and this option is no where to be found. what the hell asus !!
The TF300 had a lot of bricks. Maybe that's why they did away with it? Could that have been t cause?

Actually i could get into cold boot screen. Only thing is that it vibrates twice before getting into the cold boot menu and that there are only 3 option on the cold boot screen.

How is the 4.2 running compares to 4.1? faster, smoother, no change??
I've noticed the "recent apps" function has changed. Instead of a vertical row on the left side of the tablet, you now get a full screen, horizontal look, of your recent apps. Will take some time getting use too.
On the cold boot screen. I believe you now how to manually start the cold boot (by highlighting the android icon) then pressing up on your volume key.
Lastly, I get an annoying warning about my sound being dangerous if to high, when I try to raise the volume. Anyway to disable that?

I got a notice that the system update was downloading, I waited then got a screen that said do I want to install, I tapped "install" and the screen said "Powering Off". Its been off for about 20 minutes and won't restart.
Any thoughts?
On edit,
Now its restarted and it's downloading the system update file again.
Its doing the same thing, checked system integrity and then powering off but this time it looks like 4.2 is installing.
One minor thing I've noticed is that the inexpensive 3rd party charger I bought off Amazon now no longer registers as charging (although my 3rd party battery app does, indeed, show that the unit is charging). That's an annoyance, albeit minor.
Unless the new tablet version is extremely different than the phone version, Asus is no longer using the stock camera app. So no photosphere.
Also, no quick camera access from the lock screen, not that I'm using the tablet often to take quick pictures.

Hello
I'm having some issues with my tablet: the touchscreen is WAY to sensitive if i com VERY close to it it recognizes it as touch! and when i have my headphones plugged in and the rubber touches the screen: it also recognizes it as touch anyway to change it?
i am also have some phantom touches from time to time but they seem to disappear after locking and unlocking the tablet again (hardware or software issue?)
