I recieved the new JB 4.1.2 OTA from verizon a few days ago and I am encountering a few problems. The first is that when I am connected to my wifi at home, my phone scans for connection every few seconds. Prior to this update I never saw this happen. The second is that when I end a call, my screen goes black and I have to pull the battery to turn the phone back on.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has any tips for this new update that would be appreciated as well.
Thanks,
Joe

Hey all,
So I bought an essentially unused Nexus One about 2 months ago. It came with froyo, and a day or so after I got it and turned it on (T-mobile btw) it updated to 2.2.1-partial or something. A couple weeks later it notified me that system update 2.3.3 was available (woot!). So download.....install.....reboot......problem.
So basically, now almost every time the phone boots up, it shows the static X for a bit, and then when it tries to switch to the animated particle-attractor X, the display just shuts off and nothing shows up. It apparently boots ok and everything else works fine: I can press the power button, and swipe-unlock...even answer phone calls....but the display stays off. I can eventually coax it into turning on the display again by numerous rounds of taking out the battery and reinserting with luck and random voodoo sprinkled in, but I have no idea what's going on or how to fix it. I've found a couple other cases by googling around, but no fixes.
So is this something people are aware of? Will the 2.3.4 update fix it? I would try to root/install CM7, but while I can get into fastboot, going from there to recovery is a crapshoot because of the display issue. So any help would be awesome, thanks in advance.
To re-emphasize, this is completely stock Gingerbread on a never-rooted/modded Nexus One.
2.3.4
Just got notified of the 2.3.4 update today, downloaded, rebooted......same problem.
hi everyone
I have a galaxy tab 7.7 which runs ICS and its firmware version is P6800XXLQ2. last month when it was just a week after i purchased it i tried to root it and it went well but after it started up the screen went black after a short time(about one minute) ,6 seconds later screen came back in landscape mode showing only half of the screen(the other half was black) and 1 second later it was alright. this issue just got happening every minute. so I pasted the official ROM using odin and everything looked fine till last night that it happened again and now even though I flash the official ROM it happes again.
Have you encountered the same issue/ Do you know a way to repair it?
I tried my best to describe what happens but if it was unclear I may post a video showing it. and one other thing, when the screen comes back its like the tablet has just started up meaning the wifi and the simcard and the sd card just start connecting...
thanks everyone, please help me if you please
i have not seen anyone having this issue... i have rooted my device and have flashed many custom roms and officials roms on it and i have never faced this issue... this is the first time i am hearing about it...
Ok so i flashed my phone to JB 4.1.1 about 1-2 months ago. It didnt connect to wifi, and i couldnt talk to anyone on the phone. Then i cleared cache and hthe wifi problem went away. but the calling issue didnt. the day jb 4.2.1 came out, my phone went into a boot loop. idk why. it just did, so i checked for any updates and i saw that jb 4.2.1 has been released. so i flashed to that. but the bootloop issue keeps happening and when i call some one or someone calls me i cant hear them. they can hear me but i cant hear them. PLEASE HELP !
Odd as it sounds, a lot of weird problems, bootloops and random reboots in particular, went away for me after I cleaned out the power button. I didn't even need to do a full disassembly. Just got it open enough that I could blast a few quick shots of compressed air at the button.
I have an HTC One S (unlocked T-mobile) which runs on stock 4.0.4. And over the last 8 months all I have been doing is looking for a solution for my Wi-Fi issue. It worked perfectly fine initially. But then Wi-Fi suddenly stopped working. I don't remember clearly if this was after an OTA update or not. The Wi-Fi keeps trying to turn on but doesn't go past the "Turning on" phase. I can't even shut it and it drains my battery very fast because the phone never goes to sleep. I don't know if this is a software or hardware issue. I have tried practically everything including a Hard Reset. My phone is not under warranty so I need someone to help me fix this issue. Will a jelly bean update (whenever it does come) solve the issue? Or maybe rooting the phone to CM?
Old phone died, so after getting a new Pantech Marauder (Verizon) on ebay everything was working well. Then I decided to update to Jelly Bean because... why not! There didn't seem to be any major problems posted online.
Well, now the phone constantly reboots for no reason. The phone isn't rooted and is all stock. Only a small handful of apps are downloaded. Any ideas/advice?
So far I've tried battery pulls, restarting the phone properly and resetting the phone.
Thanks in advance!
The phone is still rebooting randomly, but the reboots have become so fast that you can barely tell now! All joking aside though, it's still kind of annoying. Haha. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
