Mountek car mount

I know there's a thread on the EVO forum but not everyone checks that forum so:
Myself and a friend both bought a Mountek car mount. It works great for me. It mounts into the CD slot of my '06 Frontier and remains very stable.
Worth a look if you don't like suction cup mounts (they never work for me because the phone ends up too far away from me and shaky).

I got the one for the hd2. It us close enough in size that it should pose no trouble.

Great buy
I had this for my Droid X. I really love this thing! I never listen to radio and use the aux out to plug the phone into my car's stereo keeping the phone out of the windshield and closer to me has been great. This is definitely worth the $20!

So for those of you with this, what are your thoughts? Is this mount worth the price?

And I was correct, it fits the Inspire perfectly and does not hit the volume buttons, which was my primary concern. Overall I would highly recommend this mount.

ordered this afternoon. All that was available was the universal mount. Will give it a try and see. if not will wait for hd 2 to get back in stock lol.

They probably are no different at all. This one looks like it would fit down to an iPhone, and up to almost a Streak.

somehow I think you might be correct lol. But for 20 dollars, if it does the job I will be satisfied.just need for it to get here soon. Lol

I've been using this mount for about couple of months and it is the best I've used.
- Resonable price - Got it on eBay for $17 from Mountek
- Doesn't shake like other dash or vent mounts.
- Easy to reach. No brainer really: Audio controls are usually located in the most user-friendly area in the center console.
- Portable. Used it on a rental car on a recent vacation and it worked great.
- No tape or suction cup marks on the dash/windshield.

Got mine this morning. Seems really solid. Will give a test run on way to work tonight.

I want to report back in and say this thing is awesome. I use it about 2 hours a day and just love how it works. If you had any doubt at all erase them and do it!

I have an '02 Tacoma and never use the CD player. What a great idea!! I think I'm going to have to try this. For $15, why not? I waste that much eating out during the week while at work.

What a pity, Moutek seems to have disappeared - website down, not available on Amazon - does anyone know if these are still available somwhere? Preferably in Europe

The battery in the status bar, though, doesn't have the electricity bolt icon that you see when it charges. So I'd assume it's just a regular stand. Not wise when using GPS constantly

I'd say PRECISELY because it's a commercial, they would want to make the charging part really clear. At least from the years I worked in publicity video production, the director and representatives from the ad agency and brand itself were always paying huge attention to details like those.

I have to assume if it was a legitimate accessory for the Nexus it would not have a universal cradle as shown.

Looks like a style matched screen holder with magnet to me. Hope it does have a charging capacity.

It looks like the official charging orb with holders on it! I hope so bad this comes out!

I don't see how this could be a charger its not connected to a power source so i can't see how it would charge your phone through just the windshield would be nice though but highly doubtful
this is the closest i found to a charger/dock for it which would be nice but i don't use my gps enough for this

true that would be awesome accessory to have and have the charging orb at home. This phone would be to wireless lmfao if that's possible granted there are workarounds like charging mats just be nice to have official stuff

Please Tell me a Case Like this Exists?

I want a case with room to hold my drivers liscense and 2 credit cards. Thats basically the only useful stuff in my wallet anyway so sick of carrying it around. Oh and no book like cases

I had just saw one at Spencer's at the mall yesterday. Its made for blackberry and apple and also android but similar sized ones.

The ones I saw at Spenser's were more like clutches that you wife/girlfriend would carry. It would work just not my style.....

Kickstarter backed microSD card reader!

Just received my kickstarter backed project, microSD Card reader. Project cost me about $12

I have to say this thing came out really nice, the blue light was a nice touch. So far its worked on everything I've plugged it into (galaxy nexus, nexus 7, Gs4, RAZR M)

Yeah they had a problem with quality of the first few samples, and then some machine broke at the mold factory so not entirely their fault for the delay.

Got mine yesterday! It looks pretty damn awesome though I haven't tried it yet... I was planning on using it exclusively for my Nexus 10 but since it has a keyring I can carry it around with me so that's pretty cool. :good::laugh:

Very cool idea..but shouldnt the key ring be on the cap side? I mean, you want your keys dangling from that plug into your phone? Or do you want to take this off your ring when you need it?

This OTG microSD card reader is small in size and looks nice but OTG cable is quite long and big

I didn't take a photo of the clip that attaches to your keyring, its a quick disconnect clip so you don't actually dangle your keys from your phone .

Nice one, cheers for posting this, ordered one mainly to use with nexus 7 but this could be great at transfering stuff quickly to my S4 and the advantage of being small and unobtrusive like an otg cable and flash drive.
This could really change my mind about getting the upcoming nexus 5.Although i think they're great phones I thought i'd never get one because of the poor storage and no sd slot but as the extra space i need would be for music files i would only need to plug it in when listening. rest of the time it would be on my keys.
My only concern is how secure and safe from knocks the sd card is when inside the reader and inside my pocket. I'm pretty forceful when dry humping bins and bollards when waitnig for buses. Can anyone comment on this? (The sd card safety not my dry humping?)

Hi, ive been looking around for a nice sleeve for my S4 unfortunately have not been able to find one that suits my needs I would love one that has card slots. I use the wireless cover so the phone would have to fit with it. Im currently thinking on this :

That pouch is for the S3. I have a genuine pouch for the S4 in black that I used for a week while my Spigen Slim Armor View case didnt arrived. It´s pretty weel designed, as a matter of fact, I recommend it.
