Hey all, was wondering if anyone could answer this who currently owns a Transformer Keyboard Dock.
Since the dock has a battery built into it, can I charge devices via USB without the tablet docked into the keyboard or does the tablet have to be docked in order to use the USB to charge the device?
Also, I have seen pictures of a usb adapter for the transformer but cannot find it anywhere. Anyone aware of it's availability?
Thanks so much for the help!!
I just plugged a mytouch 3g into the usb port of the dock with the tablet disconnected and it did not charge the device. But as soon as I docked the tablet it started charging.
The usb adapter you describe I'm pretty sure hasn't been released yet.
hope that answered your question

yes thank you, just unfortunate as to what the answers are. have been putting off purchasing a tablet but after seeing that $100 coupon off tablets at staples this morning i am very tempted to finally pick up a transformer. Just concerned about keeping my Thunderbolt charged while tethering it to the tablet since I don't really have a strong need for the keyboard dock as of now. hope the usb adapter comes out soon.
what are your honest thoughts on the transformer?
i tried to charge my Blackberry with my keyboard dock and it wouldn't work at all..with or without the tablet docked.
Strange.....
I have a B40 TF101, and recently got the Keyboard Dock to go with it.
I cannot get the Transformer to connect to it. It charges fine.
I have no Dock Firmware version showing when it's snapped in.
I have tried multiple ways of seating it, the switch is fully to the right, I have done cold boots and factory wipes. I've tried it with Revolver and just tried Krakd aswell to see if that made a difference.
The dock is described as EP101(TF101)-1b DOCK M/33/US. Is it possible this is a US dock and it wont work with my TF? I bought the Transformer in the UK and guess its a WW.
Is there anything I have missed before I RMA it?
So I've been searching the forums and can't seem to tell if anyone else is having the same problem as me. Just got a brand new in box tablet and dock from best buy. Every thing was working great until this morning. Went to use the dock and the key board doesn't work nor does the track pad and buttons.. The tablet isn't recognizing it as being connected.
The weird thing is that it seems to be charging when it is connected and plugged in. Also the tablet reads the flash drive I put in the USB port.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me. Thanks in advance.
hi,
is the battery of the dock empty ?
you can also try to put it back to factory default.
gr,
Did you try reboot tablet? Once my tablet didnt recognise dock too and reboot helped.
@up
When battery in dock is empty its using one in tablet. However he can try to charge it. Why not? Maybe there is a problem with his dock when its battery is empty

AD01? Is this the serial number? Because the TF docks are labeled TF101, TF201, TF300, TF500 and TF700. Check on the box what it says, because only the 201, 500 and 700 (which is either a re-purposed 201 or a 500) work for the Infinity.
Actually, Asus *does* have an AD01 dock now... For example:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ASUS-Tran...h=item337eb0076f&ssPageName=RSS:B:SHOP:GB:101
It is supposed to work with the TF700 as well...

What version of the firmware are you running on your TF700? Since it's a new dock, maybe you need the newest firmware on the tablet?
Either that or maybe it's actually a problem with the tablet... You are still in your return period, so maybe exchange the tablet if all else fails...

Same Issue
I also purchased the same models from Best Buy. I have recently updated the Android software, and am looking into fixes. My keyboard worked both before and after the recent update. I used it two days ago with no problem. I let it sit off the charger that night, the next day the Tablet didn't recognize a docked device. I charged the keyboard separately overnight, thinking the battery itself was drained (as the tablet seems to draw from the keyboard first while docked). The tablet charges without the keyboard attached (which is why I believe the issue in in the keyboard). I have an open ticket with Asus and will post any helpful information.
Edit:
Android ver: 4.1.1
build: JRO03C.US_epad-10.4.23-20121127
Also have the issue
Also have the issue reported above. Brand new tablet and keyboard. I can plug-in the USB or SD card, or pawer in the keyboard and they are accessible (and charge) but the keyboard, mouse, and extra battery appear to not be working, I've pushed the keys including the enable disable trackball on the keyboard, I'm guessing the keyboard is defective in my case but seems I'm not the only one.
I have the latest update Android 4.2.1 Asus TF700T tablet with AD01 keyboard. No other issues so far...
My tablet is gently used. I bought a "new" dock for my TF700T (Android 4.1). The dock charges but will not type.; no response on tablet when I tap on a key. Touch pad does not work.
The tablet does not recognize that the dock is attached. No dock software version is shown in properties.
1. Tablet Build Number: JOP40D.US_epad-10.6.1.14.10-20130801
2. Kernel version: 3.1.10-gb1a9af5 + the following text: [email protected] #1; Thu Aug 1 17:00:24ST 2013 (last part is date and time, obviously and an email address??)
3. I can get the dock about 95% open but it is really tough to open when I get close to the touch pad (I have removed all 6 screws). I was hoping to check for a loose cable but stymied. Not willing to pry too hard for fear of cracking the plastic.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John
Check the serial number on Asus website, if you register the keyboard/dock it will return the model "ASUS VivoTab RT Mobile Dock". Mine is a dock for the TF201 but it works fine on the TF700. Give that a try to make sure you have the correct keyboard dock. You can also check the sticker on the back, it has the model on it is very small type, did you get the box? - NP
Sorry for the delay in responding. I was upgrading my ROM to Android 7 and had a few challenges. I registered the dock and it came up as "Asus TF300T" assuming this is a TF300T dock. This dock should be good?
After the ROM upgrade the tablet recognizes the dock is attached; 2 battery icons shown when charging. Still not responsive to key presses. No box. I bought dock on eBay. When the dock arrived it was in the plastic "bag" that would be found on a new unit. The dock charges fine. Any other thoughts on a next step?
Thanks
John
I'm using a TF201t dock with my TF700, but I don't think the TF300 dock is compatible with the TF700. - NP
Digging around online & learned the TF300 dock will work with the TF700 if the dock firmware is 027 or greater.
Does anybody have any idea how to check the dock firmware version? How to upgrade?
Thanks
John
I'm on 7.1.2 and in the About section of settings there's not mobile dock version info giving and I don't know if you can "flash" the keyboard dock. - NP
I tried one last time to connect to the dock, the space time contimum must have been perfectly aligned because it now works as expected.
