[Q] Should I RMA my Dock? - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a B40 TF101, and recently got the Keyboard Dock to go with it.
I cannot get the Transformer to connect to it. It charges fine.
I have no Dock Firmware version showing when it's snapped in.
I have tried multiple ways of seating it, the switch is fully to the right, I have done cold boots and factory wipes. I've tried it with Revolver and just tried Krakd aswell to see if that made a difference.
The dock is described as EP101(TF101)-1b DOCK M/33/US. Is it possible this is a US dock and it wont work with my TF? I bought the Transformer in the UK and guess its a WW.
Is there anything I have missed before I RMA it?

HDMI out stopped working

I've had a TF700T since the release day...upgrading from the Prime and the TF101 before that. When I first received it, I tested out all of the features, including HDMI out, to make sure that everything was in working order. I even watched a few movies using the HDMI out. Now, all of a sudden, my tablet does not seem to recognize when an HDMI cable is plugged in and connected to a TV. I've tried several different cables and TVs, including the ones it worked on/with previously, and nothing.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? I have a few video players installed, and thought that one of them might be causing the issue, but they were all installed on Day 1, and there when it was working before.
Oh, and I'm not rooted or unlocked. Running with stock firmware for now.
You thoughts/assistance is much appreciated.
wouldnt know what to suggest except a factory reset
try a reboot, reset?

Haven't gone the reset route yet...I'm sure that will probably fix it, but it just seems like a royal PITA. Since I'm pretty sure that JB is around the corner, I'm going to try and hold out and hope that fixes it. If not, I'll wipe and re-install. Was hoping that someone in the forums might have had an alternate solution.
I had the same happen to me with my Prime. The 1st time the hdmi port was actually loose and I had to rma. The 2nd Prime it happened again but when I brought it back to best buy the Greek squad did a factory reset and it started working again.
If the connection is not loose, try a factory reset (I know - it's a pain). If not you may need to RMA.

JB install will very well fix it. Not because JB might have a fix, but because installing JB will reset your tablet.

I have inconsistent successful HDMI connections with both the Infinity and the Transformer Prime.
The simplest solution is just to unplug and replug the HDMI cable from the tablet if you don't see anything on your TV screen when you plug it in the first time. It will usually show on the HDTV screen, after a quick disconnect reconnect of the cable.

I'm not sure. My thinking, check your cables on other devices to confirm they're good. I had an issue when I got mine, but it was a short in the cable. I thought it may have been the port at first, but tried a second microHDMI cable, and no issues.
Other than that, what have you updated or install prior to last using the HDMI port? DId you try uninstalling those apps? There may be some kind of driver conflict.
When you have the cable plugged in, see if you get the HDMI options stuff in settings. Maybe there is setting you can change that may help. I know it shows up when the cable plugged in, but I don't remember what settings you could change other than stuff with 3D.
I have the same problem!
I've been connecting the tablet to a Samsung monitor via HDMI for three days now, succesfully too. I then went to work, connected the tablet to a display via VGA, and it worked. Tried again in the afternoon with the same monitor, randomly didn't work. Came home, now the HDMI randomly doesn't work! What is going on there?! A factory reset just for HDMI seems ridiculous but it's that or returning the tablet. No idea if the VGA converter (official ASUS) has damaged the port after I pulled it out?!

[Q] dock issues

So I've been searching the forums and can't seem to tell if anyone else is having the same problem as me. Just got a brand new in box tablet and dock from best buy. Every thing was working great until this morning. Went to use the dock and the key board doesn't work nor does the track pad and buttons.. The tablet isn't recognizing it as being connected.
The weird thing is that it seems to be charging when it is connected and plugged in. Also the tablet reads the flash drive I put in the USB port.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me. Thanks in advance.
hi,
is the battery of the dock empty ?
you can also try to put it back to factory default.
gr,
Did you try reboot tablet? Once my tablet didnt recognise dock too and reboot helped.
@up
When battery in dock is empty its using one in tablet. However he can try to charge it. Why not? Maybe there is a problem with his dock when its battery is empty

AD01? Is this the serial number? Because the TF docks are labeled TF101, TF201, TF300, TF500 and TF700. Check on the box what it says, because only the 201, 500 and 700 (which is either a re-purposed 201 or a 500) work for the Infinity.
Actually, Asus *does* have an AD01 dock now... For example:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ASUS-Tran...h=item337eb0076f&ssPageName=RSS:B:SHOP:GB:101
It is supposed to work with the TF700 as well...

What version of the firmware are you running on your TF700? Since it's a new dock, maybe you need the newest firmware on the tablet?
Either that or maybe it's actually a problem with the tablet... You are still in your return period, so maybe exchange the tablet if all else fails...

I was running the latest one JB 10.4.4.23 that dont work and yesterday night i downgrade to 9.4.5.30 and the same stuff.
I be taking everything to bestbuy to see if i can exchange the tablet.

Same Issue
I also purchased the same models from Best Buy. I have recently updated the Android software, and am looking into fixes. My keyboard worked both before and after the recent update. I used it two days ago with no problem. I let it sit off the charger that night, the next day the Tablet didn't recognize a docked device. I charged the keyboard separately overnight, thinking the battery itself was drained (as the tablet seems to draw from the keyboard first while docked). The tablet charges without the keyboard attached (which is why I believe the issue in in the keyboard). I have an open ticket with Asus and will post any helpful information.
Edit:
Android ver: 4.1.1
build: JRO03C.US_epad-10.4.23-20121127
Also have the issue
Also have the issue reported above. Brand new tablet and keyboard. I can plug-in the USB or SD card, or pawer in the keyboard and they are accessible (and charge) but the keyboard, mouse, and extra battery appear to not be working, I've pushed the keys including the enable disable trackball on the keyboard, I'm guessing the keyboard is defective in my case but seems I'm not the only one.
I have the latest update Android 4.2.1 Asus TF700T tablet with AD01 keyboard. No other issues so far...

TF700T and TF300T

I have both of the Asus eeePads listed in the title. The TF700 tablet works and the TF300 dock works (and they seem to work together just fine). I suspect the problem with the TF700 dock and the TF300 tablet are bad batteries. I'd like to get replacement batteries for these two...or at least the TF700 dock. I'm hoping someone can provide a part number for the TF700 dock and/or the TF300 tablet and/or the batteries for these two items. If you know of a source where I can buy these, that would be especially appreciated.
OR, does anyone know if the battery in the TF300 dock is compatible with the TF700 dock?
When I connect the TF700 tablet to the TF300 dock, under "About Tablet" in settings, I am told the "MobileDock version" is DOCK-EC20N-0207. Can anyone tell me the "MobileDock version" for the TF700 dock?

What's wrong with it? Dock keyboard or the on- screen keyboard? What rom are you using?
