We are now officially on CyanogenMod, this thread is old.
Bug list:
Minor glitch switching from video recording on FFC (switch to back camera before switching back to still images)
Flash while video recording
Pandora while using Bluetooth/wifi at the same time
MMS sizes set too big?
You tell me.
Wontfix:
Chargers that do not send any signals on D+/D-
Enhancements needed:
Panel colors/gamma correction code needs porting from d2 (Galaxy S III)
Seems great so far. WIFI speed is much better.
I am having no luck toggling NFC though. A small request as well: Can the default Bluetooth name be changed back to Relay instead of Galaxy S 3.
I'm finding that if I have headphones plugged in at boot, there's no sound until I unplug them and then reconnect. GPS also seemed to drop a lot on the way to work this morning, but that might be coincidence. Other than that, the new ROM seems to be working very well.

YOUR WARRANTY IS NOW VOID. WILL EAT YOUR CAT.
Will do proper write-up later
NOTE: You will need to be fully updated on bootloader and modem to use this. You can get the updated versions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41209211&postcount=1
Nightlies: http://ls.infernix.net/jenkins/job/apexq/
ROM Features:
Commonized d2 base (ApexQ blobs for now, trying to integrate)
Fully functional sound/wifi/bt/camera (including wifi direct, meaning your remote wifi display may work now [untested])

Regarding the bootloader and modem from that post, can the zip files be flashed via CWM? Also, what versions should it report?

I was able to flash them in CWM yes. Just mind the GPS toggle as stated in the previous post.
Going to add one more bug here, I'm having problems with certain chargers, especially if they're plugged in during boot. Looks like I need to spelunk into the kernel a bit more.
lbcoder fixed wifi mac addresses. Here's mine, just for fun

The wallpaper isn't covering the far left screen on my desktop (5 screens). It happens with trebuchet, nova and apex launchers so it might be something that needs to be adjusted from the d2 settings.

I flashed 196 yesterday and everything seems to be working, except that it would not boot (stayed in the boot logo) until I started the boot with my character unplugged. GPS took a long time to sync up right until I did a cold start, and then it took about as long as that normally does. There are still possibly some charger issues which I will report as I find them. BT works (had to repair everything), Wifi works, haven't used headphones yet, am using a 4100mAh w/o the NFC, so I can't test that.

Seems to work well.
1)
However BetterBatteryStats tell me the phone is not achieving deep sleep at all, rather in 'Awake' state 100% of time (under Other) & CPU States illustrates no info for 'Deep sleep'...
2)
Just tested 'wifi direct' with a friend running cm10.1 Stable on his Nexus 4... he can see my device yet the relay cannot see any devices when scanning. Progress but not yet functional

I am noticing that screen on takes a while once the phone has been locked and screen off for a while. It almost feels like sleep death, but after a while, the screen comes back by itself.

Flashing up to 198 fixes this. I think that fixes all of my "daily drive" features. I'll try it with a bunch of chargers today and see if any of them don't work.
Runnning on198 and everything is smooth, even underclocked. Using conservative and very little if any slowdown, and I have 142 apps!

No matter how I try to install the latest 3.4 nightlies I cannot achieve 'deep sleep' ever (100% awake.)
Before installing the 3.4 rom, I installed the MC5 modem & Bootloader & rebooted (as per original post here.)
Back into recovery & I initially tried full system/data/cache/dalvik wipes (and also for the first time on this device I also wiped "/data &/data/media" in the mount menu) before installing the 3.4 rom & gapps.
No deep sleep.
I revert back to my 3.0 nand backup and deep sleep is restored.
Then attempt a flash over the 3.0 restore with the latest 3.4 nightly... same dillema - no 'deep sleep.'
Am I alone or Is anyone else experiencing this?
For anyone who is on 3.4 and achieving 'deep sleep' (I know lbcoder & nard have confirmed they achieve deep sleep via IRC chat) can you please share your exact method in migrating from 3.0 to 3.4 (including when & how you exactly flashed the modem &/or bootloader.)
For what it's worth the recovery I have been on for a while now is CWM Version 6.0.2.8.
Baseband under settings/other shows " T699UBVMC5."
I'm using BetterBatteryStats to determine 'deep sleep' status.
Using 'Android Root Toolkit' (the only method I could find to detail bootloader version) to tell me my bootloader version as "T699UBVMC5."
I can't see that I'm doing anything out of turn.
I'm a well seasoned CWM flasher (well atleast I thought I was ), tried builds 197,8 & 9, same effect for me.
Any thoughts, ideas, cures, methods would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Here is a related thread that may help http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...keeping-my-phone-awake-eating-my-battery.html. also there is a deep sleep app on playstore. I had it but I usually toggle everything on and off from pulldown menu as a need it, which saves enough battery for me.

My in-car charger still makes my phone stupid, where after I unplug it still says that it's charging. Power consumption is definitely up, my 4100mAh battery is behaving like the 1800 used to.

I am on AOKP B31 without fast charge enabled but seem to have a problem with the phone charging when off. If I plug it into a USB or wall charger, both samsung, the initial battery screen will come on but after the screen turns off it will not turn back on. I left it there for 30 min turned it on and it showed 50% more battery. We all know with a samsung that is not possible. Just want to see if others are having this issue, or a fix.
Thanks in advance.
I am sporadically having this issue as well- Samsung charger, AOKP b31. I will play with it over the weekend and see if I can figure anything out. For the moment I am not seeing this behavior, but initially after flashing I did...
I have not had this issue on any other THS or AOKP build and I have used a lot of them. The last one I was on was milestone 4 and it was fine.
Sent from my AOKP ICS captivate using XDA
Hmm, still doing it. Setting the Min CPU to 200MHz has not helped, as I have seen posted elsewhere. Charging screen turned off at some point, and when I booted up it was at 64% (from 7%). I'm not super worried about it though, seeing as how I flash like crazy and will not be on Build 31 for any length of time. If I get this on other builds or other Roms I will update again.
Edit: Build 32 is out, so I am going to flash and see if that resolves the issue. I am wondering is this is a kernel issue, as the Glitch for Build 31 was the first time I had switched from Glitch version 14 beta 6. Maybe I'll try the Semaphore kernel if the issue remains.
I flashed 32 and it still is the same issue. Also tried the min CPU increase but nothing. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. My concern is that it will continue to charge after 100%.

read the first post of AOKP. report bugs where it tells you to. they will not look here, or will they care if they do look here, if you do not follow their instructions for reporting bugs.
look to see if the bug exists, and if it is there, click the STAR to vote for the issue as that page says to do.
I have read the OP but I did not want to flood the bug tracker if it was a problem already found or known. I did not have the 10 posts needed to post in the development section, so I figured start this to see if anyone had an issue. I know how much everyone hates the development thread being diluted with dumb question after question. I did report it on the bug reporter site.
P.S. - Thanks for your essentials mod, makes everything much easier.
Just wonder - will disable fast charge help?
I have not enabled fast charge. I thought that only effects charging when on USB? I could be wrong though.

I have been testing with both i897 and i9000 bootloaders. This may be a Glitch kernel issue, as I have flashed Semaphore ICS kernel 1.0.0 and have not seen this. Looks like there is already a bug reported in the AOKP page. Not a huge concern though, I think, because the phone seems to charge nevertheless.
So I just rooted my Nexus S for the first time and started messing around with custom ROMs and kernels.
I'm starting off with CM10 M2, and I've noticed that a few features seem to be disabled regardless of which kernel I'm using.
Under the Advanced settings for my Nexus S, the option for Deep Idle is greyed out and cannot be enabled.
Also, over in the display tab of Advanced settings where you should be able to controls colors and such, everything is greyed out as well.
If I recall correctly, the screen color settings were only clickable when I still had the stock kernel installed, and with both matr1x and marmiteCM they were greyed out. Deep Idle seems to be unavailable with all three kernels.
So is there anything I can do to enable these settings? Is it a kernel issue? Will deep idle work properly on my phone and save me battery life?

Well, upping this thread.
I'm experimenting with roms and trying to install different kernels. And I've got same symptoms — in Settings/Advanced disabled everything but BLD tuning.
Using CWR 6.0.1.0, latest marmite and matr1x, several CM-based roms (starting with CM10.1 M1).
Tried full wipe before/after installing kernel. Tried fixing permissions in CWR.
Main thing I need from there is voodoo colors, otherwise I'd just use nstools.
Currently I am using Endymion as the stable ROM on my device and I am pretty happy with its performance as well as the battery life, except for some random reboots.
But because of the limitations on some apps on Play store, which are not compatible on gingerbread, I wanted to try some JB roms.
With the andromadus builds (I know they are betas, but still many people say they are good for them, even if not for permanent usage at the current stage of developments), I have two issues:
1. My workplace wifi has wpa2 encryption with static ip addresses. And with both Flinny's and nk111's builds, both the latest and the ones prior to them, I cannot connect to the wifi despite several attempts. Though, my home wifi connection, which uses Auto-settings (with wpa2 encryption), the connection is almost instant. Is there any remedy for that or am i doing something wrong. Also, with few newer Sense ROMs like Fallout 5 and Sabsa 8.5, wifi has never given me problem.
2. Also, with those builds, I have severe graphical glitches with the default settings. I tried to toggle the hardware acceleration overlay in settings, but no success. The graphical glitches are in the form of suspension of the phone, and only when I touch the screen, the process goes forward. In other words, if I have to type 'abc' on the keyboard, after I press 'a', the phone stops, and only when I press 'b', the 'a' appears, and so on. I hope I am able to convey the issue. Is this problem common or only I am affected by it.
For flashing, I first do a complete wipe (Format all except sdcard option in 4ext Recovery), then flash the .zip and then the gapps followed by Fix permissions. But the problems start from the first boot itself. I have tried 5-6 times, but things remain like this.
I do have S-off, with eng hboot of 0.98.2000, and I had applied the latest radio 20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.110.
Thanks in advance.

I have tried out a few ics roms, namely fallout, iceds and sabsa, all of which work well and smooth without the two issues I have pointed out in the experimental jb roms. Except for endymion, all other roms give me serious battery drainage.
Eg, in endymion, the phone goes into deep sleep, with no change in the battery percent indicator overnight.
While with reaper (smooth, but overnight it goes from 100 to 45%), with ics roms (again smooth, but overnight battery goes from 100 to 0, and phone shuts off). In all cases the battery usage culprit comes out to be Android OS. I have tried the latest amidabuddha kernels too, but same result. All testing done using default Rom settings and the settings of my normal endy tweaks (245-1024, ondemand, noop, with low manual brightness, WiFi/data off, sim on).
It seems like my phone remains to be married to endymion.

Well i think you're battery is dying. i never had a 100%-0% draining in any rom i tested.
Have a look on Betterbatterystats here on xda to find which app is misbehaving. There are a lot of reasons which can cause this high drainage. Upload BBS logs after the night and we'll know more.

...tonyp's ParanoidAndroid JB so far, has been the go to ROM for my G2X; far smoother and slicker than the EB ICS I used to run. Aside from the foreseeable battery drain (I always keep a charged spare on me, but usually a single overnight charge lasts a full work day), this ROM is the closest thing to stable I've encountered.
But one question:
My G2X has always suffered from a Sleep of Death about two out of every three times, all and only during voice calls (incoming or outgoing); regardless of Android ROM used.
This makes it a headache retrieving voicemails (keypad not accessible), leaving voicemails (cannot end calls), or the inability to end calls with people (i.e., my dad) who do not manually hang up on their end. (Luckily, I'm more of a texter and people rarely call me; so I wouldn't know what would happen in a call waiting situation.)
My only recourse is to take apart my Trident casing, remove the back plate and take out the battery. Ugh.
After asking around XDA about an in-call SoD solution, a majority said to up the CPU processor to about 500-600 mHz. But alas, the minimum CPU configuration is greyed-out in Performance settings.
(I've flashed the new baseband file after the ROM installation because I'm using the V21y March 2012 kernel. As well, I've used the GetRIL app to match the recommended baseband, just to be sure.)
So how exactly can I configure the minimum CPU settings?
(Or am I just not allowed to?)
Again, this SoD during phone calls is universal to my G2X regardless of Android ROM. So any help (or plausible alternate methods and solutions) are more than appreciated.
Seasons beatings,
Francis.

I'd like to mention, that every time I use GetRIL I always get a lot more battery drain and it gives me problems, if you're using CM7 like me (or anything else) don't change the RIL, because someone mentioned before that it makes it somewhat incompatible or whatever and I have noticed that it makes my battery drain faster and my phone run hotter, thats just my experience from GetRIL.

Completely developed on the device for the device. Not one computer was used.
IF YOUR BATTERY LIFE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO YOU IN THE WORLD THIS MAY NOT BE FOR YOU!
Battery life hasn't been thoroughly tested and not expected to be great.
Welcome to ROM ZERO.
ZERO was developed for one purpose. SPEED! You will open apps, download, install apps, and browse the web faster than before. This rom is based on USABILITY SPEED and may not show in benchmarks. It's two totally different things. Battery life is not expected to be great but hasn't been tested so please Don't complain about your battery life. I would like some feedback on the battery life but as I said, don't expect much.
This is a stock rom lightly debloated with a few nice tweaks. I have added my yamato performance edition tweaks and some scripting in the frame buffer to help speed things up. This will give you higher frame rates in games and overall speed. Lean kernel is preloaded and completely over clocked including the GPU out of the box. There is no need to lkconfig. The GPU governor is also automatically set to performance mode. There are alot of adjustments made to this rom for speed. It's FAST.
SO WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE?
De-odexed system with ODEXED apps.
Lightly debloated.
Black & white toggles.
Black status bar.
4.2 keyboard.
Menu to kill.
Holo & stock TW launchers.
Adjusted Bluetooth for quicker connections
Complete rewrite of the build.prop and included all of my HWUI settings for speed and a better visual experience.
Frame buffer speed adjustments.
Full HW rendering.
GPU over-clocked.

I just posted a dropbox link in the op. See if that works better for you. The original link is working fine for me though.
I can start the hotspot from the status bar on top, but when I connect to my phone, get either a Limited Connectivity error or no connection at all. I can take some screenshots when I get home if that would help, maybe the app has an error log that I can find.
Just flashed, had no issues. Everything seems nice and smooth. Its also visually very smooth. Coming from clean ROM I would say as far as "speed" at least opening apps and such Clean ROM is faster, but Zero is very fluid. No issues with lag. I havent tested much else. So far so good though. Nice work and thanks! Its been kind of quiet on the forums since the S4 came out.
Unfortunately I found an issue this morning with some of the scripts loading. This rom is currently not running as I intended it as far as speed. The update tonight will be a huge difference in performance! Sorry about the bug.
Version 1.2 released.
Fixed scripting.
This will be a noticeable improvement!
Thanks for your patience.
I would love to know what battery life you guys get with this.

Crap thats a big battery. How much time do you usually get out of that?
Nice! Could you possibly remove Backup Assistant from settings? Always bothers me.
EDIT: Also, it's not allowing the setup wizard to complete. This is the only way to get my apps to auto-restore so could you look into it?

Well it's obviously easy enough to remove the app itself but removing the tab from the settings menu isn't something I have ever dove into yet. For me it's a bit complicated and over my head right now. I'm going to have to read up on setting tabs and learn a bit more about it. Probably in version 5.0 lol.

Darn another flaw! Ugghhh! Yes I will.
