Why is the battery life sooo horrible on all cm10.1 roms?
There's already a cm 10.1 discussion thread where this should have been posted. But I'm getting great battery life on the latest nightlies.

I mean you need to figure out why your battery drains so fast. It's not common for this to happen.

yea i tried other 4.2 roms (aokp, toyes roms, carbon, chaos, pac, pa) and all of them have the same problem! What you guys mean by user error! its not helping me by just saying USER ERROR! Im back on 4.1 miui and my phone actually lasts pretty much the whole day but then why not on 4.2? If its something im doing wrong then what is it?

I haven't rooted yet. First Android device I have had for more then a day and not rooted. This device is so good I am in no rush. After root I am just going to run it stock anyway so figured no rush.
I score about the same as your screen shot. It varies up and down. Once after clearing all the Ram out I could I scored a 5500. Otherwise always around the One X score.

What I don't get is how stock ICS gets better scores than all the Jellybean variants out there. I was getting 5100 average on stock, on JB its more like 3900-4200 if that.

I've been using the Sky ICS ROM for about 4 months, loving it, works great. Wondering about the Jellybean, also Sky from Seansreamz.
Can anyone who has used both tell me if the Jellybean from Sean is as stable and ready for every day use as the ICS ROM?
Thanks

My experience with the latest T11 base has not been positive. Sean himself has said the T7 base with the matching update was practically perfect ... those can be found on goo.im, if they're no longer available here.
I prefer his newer JB version, his roms have always been the most stable for me regardless of the phone. Solid work!
I've been using Sky JB daily since Sean first created it and have had no problems.

Anyone have an opinion on battery life, Sean's ICS ROM compared to his JB ROM, assuming same usage, same power saving measures?

I have nothing but respect for seanz and everything he has done for our community. He has been with skyrocket for a long time and has contributed SOO much. That said, I haven't had a lot of luck with his roms for a while now. Could just be my device, I don't really know. I have used official Cyanogenmod for a while now and I've never had any issues. They are like butter and so clean.
Hey everybody....i just wanna ask that do flashing a lot have any negative effect on tab/battery health???
If yes then what and anyway to avoid it???????
Sent from my GT-P3100 using xda app-developers app
Depends on your usage, but unless the dev is bad at custom ROMs, they are generally more efficient in saving battery life. Read the user reviews before installing a ROM to be sure.

So I was asking abt that...if it has any problems due to excessive flashing??????

No problems due to excessive flashing will happen since you factory reset it every time. You may also want to reset the flash counter.

I think you'd like to know if the flashing itself or the behavior during flash has negative impact.
not worse than your normal usage as the SGT2 ha LiIon battery. it has a naturally limited lifetime.
you don't have to expect special negative impact from flashing.
just fully load the device if you flashed from time to time.

Now it uses less ammount then before. Before 80-63 mb free.
After -200-180 mb free.
Already flashed.
The system is much faster, respond more quickly to commands. For now.
See how this week-end is manifest.
PS: To ALL: Do a Nandroid Backup Before Flash.

But anyways thanks for the mod share

EDIT: CRT-OFF Now doesn't work
Flashed it on cm 10.1. Apps are opening faster although it maybe due to faster animation tweak.
So far so good. Thank you!

I can not see difference...
Flashed on PAC 4.2.2 No change in RAM consumption ( still around 220 mb) though ui is little faster than before.
Sorry for bad English.

And when I get out of recovery ,get a message ,"disable flash recovery"
Works fine on JellyMod 4.0... thanks for sharing!
Just flashed on cm10...
Working awesome. Free ram is now ~371mb
PLEASE BE AWARE. Read this post.

I've noticed that the ram managment still almost the same.
After installing this "mod", the only thing that I've seen, is, if you check in dev options, animation speed is set into 0.5x, and some changes in build prop, nothing special.
Please read carefuly before install this.
Lol..after I flashed this. It doesn't show awake time anymore. Gonna continue to test this for couple more days to see how it goes.

Hi. I am using Unofficial CM10.1 - 4.2.2 - 7/14/13 - MTD on Infuse. I bought a brand new battery, installed "smart booster" program and the battery can only last for about 24hours. Any suggestions?

24 hours is excellent, especially on a JellyBean ROM. Unless you're open to downgrading to Gingerbread, I doubt there's much you can do.
