Stock Rom/Root questions? (s5670L)

Hello every one! Ive been searching for a while for a nice stable and smooth rom for my Galaxy Fit. The problem is i have the "L" latin vrs. (s5670L). I was thinking about going back to "stock + rooted rom" and was wondering: Is it posible to deleted original system apps without any problems, by that i dont mean browsers etc because ive done that with root explorer.. what i mean is, can i delete stock touch wiz and add any one i like for example go launcher to it, and would i be able to move apps around to system partion on phone to make use of that extra space without any probs like i do in CM7. Just asking! Hope i get an answer

Yeah, you can definitely do that. But do add proper permissions.

I dont know if this is normal but everytime I uninstall any system app my phone restarts :S Do you now of any stable rom for Latin Fit?

Yes I am its pretty smooth, so ill stick to stock until any stable custom rom... do you now if i can use cpu no frills app to alter the cpu speed on stock rooted?

You can only underclock it unless you install an OC kernel

Well it did get faster in "performance" option but it dont overclock above 600 and my stock rom kernel says 2.6.35.7-perf-CL774231 [email protected] #1 with S5670LUJKPI baseband

I guess it doesn't show options over 600mhz...

some info about our ics 4.0

1. the rom may run 1.0 or 1.2GHz in different machine.
2. The stupid SD card problem seems to be fixed finally after the release of milestone 2.5 years ago.
3. The 4 GB internal ram/storage place(to charify the term) is released and set as 'SDCARD'. This brings some other applications problems such import and export.
4. WIFI is weak. You can connect but you can't download/upload data sometimes. Some people said they have no such problem.
5. GPS problem by the bootstrap still exist.
6. The rubbish apps can be disabled by the built-in application manager.
7. Quickoffice is upgraded to 5.0. The paid version is 5.5.
8. Double tap of home button can call any application you like. Great.
9. The lock screen is good. 3 apps are set in default.
10. the sensitivity of the touch is changed. You need time to like it
11. Reboot option is given by default.
12. No screen shot built in.
13. The new mail apps is great... Sxxx google.
14. You can set the profile by rules. Some of you may like it
15. No ics camera is given. OMG. I use instead.
16. There are auto power on and off options provided. The off function works only.
17. Overall is good. Few bugs only. Unbelievable!

i would like to see screenshots, we have had multiple trolls with this ICS stuff so we kind of want proof before we believe this stuff. no offense, its just a fact.

you have to mod it in gb or only the stock apps can be selected.

I'm a little confused man, I'm doubtful on this also.
My understanding was Xanadu was the first to successfully flash this. And that it was unrooted. And he took Screenshots.
So why can'y you?
By all means, we'd be stoked for you if you flashed it successfully, however, due to the massive amount of trolling lately, I do believe the community would like some proof.

Cm10 aokp tw punch! 7/21/13

If your running CM10 nightlies, AOKP or TW MF1 give this script a try. It will give them a nice kick in the pants to get it moving without additional battery drain.
Basically some ram optimizations.

After you download the script rename it by removing the ".txt"
Then place the file in /system/etc/init.d.
Then reboot

If it's based on cm10 but it may already have it's own optimizations.
Install it. It won't hurt anything. If it provides more speed for you than keep it. If not, remove it manually. I did not include a remove flashable. I bet you will find more speed though.

Heh, sr fo the delay coz I hav bin wokin on CM 10.2 also and had an exam plus a test comming lmao ^^ I will drop it out real soon tho.
Sneak peak fo next build:
Enable LVM in kernel plus fstrim support but we dunt hav fstrim fo CM10.1 as well as this phone doesn't need TRIM
Framework mods w proper battery info and some graphic mods based on aries common overlay
Focal support w libs but the apk will not be included coz it takes 11MB of system space plus u can push the apk to /system urself if u like
Added in Voiceplus, CMFilemanager, Apollo
...I can't remember more lol...

Just to make it more stable and added new basic apps as Apollo n CMfilemanager (for whom like me, dont want to install extra apps after flashing) plus voice plus (fomerly Babel) and fixed the camera lib to work w Focal, no FC anymore (I forgot to upload the apk ^^) if anyone want to use it can just push the apk into /system. In addition, the OMX libs were also updated to support new codecs that were instroduced in 4.3 plus some minor framework mods. That's all ^^.

I'm back to having the Google Now issue. I can't voice search; just crashes when I long press the softkey or touch the mic. Whats the work around on this again?

That was caused by text to speech crashed. Anyway, it's a well-known bugs of galaxy s 4g Aires

I found that all you have to do to fix Google now is get SD maid, remove system app Google search and reinstall from play store... Works fine after that

Not a noob question at all. First, check your imei number under settings>about phone>status if it's normal then check the APN settings, if it's blank then add your network APN manually.

@dwitherell is the dev that has tweaked. It is ICS, but he has talked about updating it.

I just don't think there is a strong want for touchwiz. It would take a lot of work to get it going. I would suggest finding a blaze dev that would do it and get some donations together.

Yeah the chops needed to craft JB TW on the Blaze are well beyond me. I started updating and further tweaking the ICS-based rom I put together, but I'm not a real dev, just a smali-hack sort that focuses primarily on tinkering with carrier-pushed stock packages.

Sure (that's what I was thinking), but it would likely need to be from a similar device (or at least much easier if so) - still out of my skillset though, and from my understanding they can be painful to pull off (disclaimer: never did one so I don't know - the exhilerate one doesn't count as I did next to nothing for it).

Since we don't have JellyBean for the Blaze it wont be "stock" possible. Unless you're okay with a CM themed ROM that makes it look like Touchwiz..

I recall someone working on remics-jb for the blaze.. Forgot who though.. :/

I have a non-booting one. Stuck with some errors (which I've forgotten what they were). If I can find it I might look into it. I haven't been on in awhile so if I my ask. Is there a 4.3 version of Remics-JB floating around?

Well for the blaze.. Not currently... If you're asking about a 4.3 version of Remics-JB, im not sure either, as since the only way i knew about it was cause of my galaxy player, which I traded for store credit.. But I'm sure with all our support, testing and whatnot.. Who's to say we can't get a booting remics-jb ROM? We've made it this far right?

There isn't a 4.3 of the Remics ROM. There is a 4.2.. Might give it a try soon..
