I've read quite a bit about the bootloader processes, and it looks like once the bootloader on the XT926 Razr HD is unlocked it can never go back to stock locked bootloader. Is this true, if not is there a method of locking a bootloader on the XT926 Razr HD?
Once it's unlocked it's unlocked.

Over at the Photon 4G Forum somebody said it would be possible. But it seems unconfirmed and i don't dare to try it myself atm

The unlock method results in a hardware change that can't be undone. Look on the devs homepage for the full technical explanation.

Basically blows a (fuse) in latent terms.
Razr HD
Eclipse V 1.3
Interesting... i never thought of it that way... but sure you can make blow a fuse on the board by software, if the circuit is designed appropiately. One more bit i've learnt. Thanks for the info! :good:
I was told also that if Verizon saw that you have unlocked your bootloader that they will kick you off of their network. I was told there is a no root/unlock clause in a Verizon contract. Can anyone confirm or deny this.

Hello I wanted to know that if I unlock the atrix would I lose it if I switch roms in the future? I have seen some other forums that you would not but I just wanted to make sure
Thanks

You have to be careful when you say "unlock." In most modding forums, "unlock" means an unlocked bootloader. In most general android forums, "unlock" could mean SIM unlocked (so you can switch carries) or bootloader unlocked.
We currently don't have a way to unlock the A2's bootloader, so I assume you mean a SIM unlock. In that case, then flashing ROMs/installing OTAs will NOT re-lock you.
I have an SIM unlocked Atrix 2 AT&T, flash, up ROM, still unlocked.

People have been SIM unlocking their phones since long before we had Android phones with locked bootloaders.
I don't think you can be blamed for the ignorance of others.
I would like to start by saying sorry for NOOB question but i have to ask because i dont want to brick my device. I have a Verizon Motorola Droid Rarz HD, and i was wondering is this a XT925 or and XT926. I have tried going into Setting>About Phone looking there but it only says "Droid Razr HD" Thanks in advance to all responses.

if im not mistaken the xt925 is the droid razr hd and the xt926 is the droid razr maxx hd. and from what i understand their roms are interchangeable because the only difference is the storage capacity and battery size.

Totally incorrect.
XT925 = GSM International/Canadian Motorola RAZR HD (no MAXX Version)
XT926 = Verizon Motorola "DROID" RAZR HD & RAZR HD MAXX
OP - you've got an XT926.

correct, also should be noted that the xt926 is considered the "developer edition" and ships without a locked bootloader
To be completely sure, it's written on the back of the phone in really tiny letters and numbers at the bottom. The 926 is the verizon (cdma) version. It does not mean it's a developers edition.

I'm wondering if LTE is built into the Rom of the phone or is it a hardware issue? My carrier just added it in my area and if there's a custom Rom for my phone out there i'd most likely try it. thanks

Figured you might be.lol what about unlocking for using different carrirers? does that have to do with the sim lock in bootloader?
Here's my understanding of it
Simlock is where your phone will only accept one network...this is obviously an option in hboot
AAHK had SuperCID which sim unlock but since AAHK is retired. AFAIK, there isn't an easy option to unlock the sim for desire or inspire 4g..If you want to sim unlock to use a different service provider. You might have to Google for sim unlock codes

Yeah, that's something different. You need to look at the instructions for manual S-Off, posted by AAHK's author attn1, for SIM unlock.
That's no easy task, good luck OP...

Hi everyone, I want to unlock my bootloader and install custom roms, but someone told me that if I unlock the XT925 bootloader I would not receive anymore future OTA Updates, It let me wondering how truth is this? I've search throughout the internet but there is not much about this matter with my phone.

If your BL is unlocked, you can still take updates. However, the charm of having an unlocked bootloader is being able to flash the updates, after the DEVs get them and tweak them. One thing, though, if you're on the latest update already, you can't unlock the BL.
i thought the patch only applied to the 926, i thought the international version could still be unlocked. i could be wrong!
here it the moto page to see if yours can still be unlocked and how to do it if it can https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-b or you could just try the unlock exploit found in these forums.
If by lastest update you refer to jb 4.3 then no, this phone only gets jb 4.1.2 so far.

I try to unlock the bootloader but recieves this message during the procedure to get an unlock key: "Your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking."
This is the european version of Motorola Razr HD (xt925), bought from eXpansys. What do I do now? Follow the instructions at Cyanogenmods website instead?
Try using the exploit from one of the tools on here.

Probably. I think I'm gonna go with Mr.Parkinsons DroidHD Utility 2.0.
But it's just weird when it obviously should be working. Motorola...
If you have an XT925 you unlock through moto no matter which version of firmware you have. If you have an XT926 you use the exploit on whichever version it worked on.

Hey all. I just got a Razr HD Maxx, and am looking to root it. Version 9.30.1, with an locked bootloader. I'm pretty new to this. Anyway to do so? Thanks.
No. The bootloader cannot be unlocked on firmware updates after 9.16.6. Firmware 9.30.1 cannot be rooted.
