Hey guys, first off I want to apologize if this is wrong area for this or if this has already been posted, but yes I have looked and haven't found anything about it.... so I have a HTC One S running the latest MIUI.... the problem is, I go to the default camera, switch it over to video recording, and it'll take the video just fine.... problem is when you go to play it or even preview it, it has a ton of lines through it, it's blurry, you see triple of everything, etc....same thing if you plug it into computer and play the vid.n help is greatly appreciated guys!
Are you on the cm9 base or the Sense base? I know the cm9 one was having camera/camcorder problems.

I believe CM9 base? I ran cm9 before and I froze the HTC sense **** lol. Not positive though, I can check if needed but I'll need to know how xD I'm still a little new to messing with Android.
There is no fix for this yet on roms that are not sense based, due to HTC using a special undocumented imaging chip for the camera in one S. If/when it is fixed I guess it'll come to miui quick.
Hi All,
So Friday I unlocked and rooted my Verizon Galaxy Nexus for the first time so I could load Jelly Bean 4.1.1. I have to say, Wow! such a huge improvement from ICS. I love how fast and smooth it is. Its like having a hole new phone! But I have found one problem so far, and was wandering if any one else is having the same issue. So the problem Im having is with the camera... It looks like its a white balance issue. all the pictures I take are coming out with a yellow or green hue to them, and if you try to set the white balance manually to incandescent or any thing else it gets really yellow or green. I have also noticed that if I go to the gallery app, it won't switch to landscape when I rotate my phone to landscape to view my pictures. But if I go in to the camera and swipe left to get in to the gallery, then I can view pictures with no problem in landscape.
If anyone hase any ideas, or has noticed simular problems pls hit me up... I would love to get this figured out.
The sample picture I am adding to this should be white, not the hew it is...
I have a Galaxy Nexus SCH-I515.
I used ToolKit v7.0 to unlock, root, and load ClockworkMod...
I loaded JB411_toro_signed_071012-1130.zip and Jellybean GApps files to get it up to 4.1.1.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Matt,
So I loaded a different version of 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and all is well..

Issue w/ JB
In this case, it most likely is just a major error in the software itself, and will be noted by testers and fixed soon.
have a great day.
That was a software issue in the first JB release
Maybe try flashing the newest gapps?

I used to have a ONE XL on AT&T back when they first came out, but I suffered from the delayed push notifications on wifi bug that was apparently pretty prevalent, so I returned it. I was planning to get a Nexus 4, but after seeing all the reviews about poor battery life, mediocre camera, etc., I'm now not so sure about that. One thing I do love is stock android. I despise Sense and other manufacturer skins/bloat. So when I saw that CM10 had a stable release for the One XL, I am considering come back to the One XL. I loved the build quality and LOVED the camera.
Anyways, so my question is this-- how good is CM10 stable on the One XL? Is it as fast and stable as the stock HTC rom? Does everything (bluetooth, gps, wifi, notification LED, etc.) actually work properly?
I see two threads in this forum that give me some concern. One about messed up wifi on CM10, and one about messed up GPS on CM10. Are those threads unusual? Or are wifi and GPS problems on the One X common on CM10?
Also, does anybody remember the delayed push notifications on wifi bug that plagued the One XL when it was first released? Does anybody know if that is completely fixed on CM10?
Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated!
Edit: And yes, I posted a similar question in one of the CM10 threads but wasn't getting much feedback, so I decided to start a new thread.
Wifi bug spoils the experience
I also love to use the vanilla Android Experience and have tried CM10 nightlies every now and then with hopes that Wifi bug will be fixed but it hasn't been fixed as of now. The UI is smooth as butter, the camera is good too but, for me, the battery life was very bad with CM10. I'd rather go with CleanROM V till the CM10 wifi bug is fixed.
I felt that the camera UI, Panorama and Burst photo capability of Sense is second to none and that is the one reason I keep moving back to Sense based ROMs every time I find CM10 wifi bug is still there.
WiFi an GPS work on mine with Cm10.
Always has for me, hit an miss for a few.
YMMV

Pictures taken with a Sense based ROM are better (more features, sharpening, imagesense chip, ect). That said, the camera on CM10 does work pretty well anyways. I've been running CM10 for a while now, and I don't have any complaints. Once the new camera in Jellybean 4.2 hits our device it will be much better.
Been running flawless. Not a problem since using the stable CM10 build.

CM10 has been flawless for me. I did have battery issues soon after my flash, but discovered the reason (Spotify burning immense background data), and once I fixed that it's been great. I get two days of use on one charge, with about 2-3 hours of screentime. CPU set to ondemand, min 192, max 920. No performance lag whatsoever.
Wifi has been no problem for me. GPS is only an issue for navigation, but if you start nevigation and then press home to run it in the background, it gives you turn by turn. I also believe that that issue was fixed, but I can't remember where I read that.
As you probably know, the stable build was released a few days ago. I haven't had any crashes or force-closes, or any other issues.
Pictures with sense are better than AOSP because Sense contains HTC's proprietary Imagesense tech, which is undoubtedly fantastic. That said, unless you really need great pictures, CM10 pictures are perfectly good.
Don't use bluetooth myself, can't vouch for it, but the only issues I've seen have been resolved or are obscure. LED notification works perfectly and can be customized lots in CM10, which is useful.
CM10 running sweet for me on a Telstra HTC One XL.
Haven't had any major dramas. 4G is working, wifi is working, and my battery life is a fair bit better than the stock ROM.
Download install and test it for yourself.. every phone will act differently

This thread has some comparison pics between Sense and AOSP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943160
Bottom-line: Sense is a little bit better, especially for panoramas - but I think the difference is overstated by most people.

The video camera on cm10 records a very high pitched sound you hear on playback. Its an interference between the two mics while recording. Its a feedback.

Figured I'd throw in my 2c.
I found the Bluetooth gimped, at first (pre Nov) it was very bass'y and hollow sounding on my car stereo, using the latest nightlies it's better but still doesn't sound as good as stock, (yes I disable Beats Audio). Also the stock CM camera sucks a **** compared to the sense one.
AAAnd, no project butter support (yet), so it's not as speedy as it should be.

it drains fast!
Good afternoon everyone. Total noob. Second post, as the first one was in the wrong HTC One X forum.
About a week ago I found a thread that suggested a different ROM build for some problems I'm having, but I can't find that thread now.
My phone app will freeze the screen and I have to reboot. The phone is working when this happens, as in the call is completed. This is random. Also, I'm getting message after taking several pics in a row that the gallery has stopped working. I have to re-open the camera app. Then, some pics are not shown in the gallery, but they are in the filesystem. Battery life seems a little bad but it's gotten better...it's on par with the 5-yearl-old iPhone 3G I had, I KID! I'm using the phone on the TIGO network in Honduras.
Can anyone suggest a different ROM, or something? I don't know all the terms or what anyone would need so I'll list everything here. Thanks for the help!
HTC One X
Android 4.2.2
AOKP verson aokp_evita-jb-mr1_build-4
Build Number aokp_evita-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39 eng.sethyx.20120225.051151 test-keys
Kernel version 3.0.66-g2cee9f6 [email protected] #1
Baseband 0.19as.32.09.11_2_10.105.32.25L
I'm getting no love on this post at all!
Its hard to suggest a ROM to anyone. Different ROMs are for different people. If you are hard core, you may try viper. If you want sense 4+, you may try newts. Possibilities are endless. Look in the android development section. And look st the different ROMs. Look for features, screenshots. and of course user comments.
Also don't expect fast replies. Either people are not on, or they are just need interested in the post.

Herc, thanks for the advice.
AOKP, at least this build, on my phone's configuration, isn't functional.
I would suggest to anyone reading this thread to avoid wasting your time and to move on to a different ROM.
I had the same issues with every CM10.1 based rom that I tried. Neither Google player or player pro would work correctly. Had to hard reboot after phone calls pretty often. Gallery force closing. Pictures don't show up in gallery sometimes. Lots of other folks seem to be able to use them fine.
They ran so fast and smooth, I wish they had been more stable for me!
I went back to viper for now. Rock solid, no issues. Elementalx kernel. I miss some of the 4.2 features but I'm loving having double or triple the battery life.
The devs here rock.. Nothing against them, I honestly think maybe there's something wrong with my phone causing the issues. Maybe yours has the same problem.

I've been running several different aosp 4.2.2 ROMs and they all have phone issue which can half way be fixed by going to setting/accessibility and checking end calls with power button. And as far as the camera and gallery goes I've had those issues on some aosp ROMs but so far with jellybam v7.5 i haven't

hey everyone, first off thanks for all the awesome support documentation on how to get this phone running a new rom without having to post for help!
i tryed a few roms out there and really like the cm 10.1 based roms and the one i have had the least amount of issues with has been jellykang1.8 im open to trying again with other but the camera issues seemed to be worse at least to what i remember lol.
anyhow its been working pretty well with the exception of a couple things 1 is the camera. at first the camera button the the phone would only focus but not take a pic. after another wipe and reload it seemed to be working. now its doing the same thing again. another thing is the flash. when i use the flash it reboots the phone. i charge it all the way up and it seemed to work.. so i think its something with the charge level but im not sure
only other thing i have seen an issue with is the new google maps. seems to have rendering issue, like tilting back and forth the screen looks all crazy like the image is just way distorted and flickers alot and sometimes causes a reboot of the phone.

Not the first mention of camera issues. Can't speak for anything else as it's the first and only ROM I've flashed and I've been quite happy with it, but I'm using SilverL's unofficial CM10.1 and haven't had any camera issues like mentioned. I've successfully used the flash well below 50% battery, at levels the stock phone wouldn't even let me use it. My camera button will still focus on half press, and take a photo on full press. The only thing I couldn't get to work was the new JB gallery/camera. It worked, but was much buggier between transitions (portrait/landscape and FFC vs main) and also my reason for trying to load it up, photosphere, didn't work.
Anyway, I feel like I got sidetracked. Not sure if I'm lucky or what, but yeah the Unofficial CM10.1 been using as a DD for a while now doesn't seem to have any camera issues I've found!

thanks for the reply.
i decided to take your advise and try out silverL's and it is working better the shutter button works as expected, and the new maps app is working correctly so far as i can tell. the flash issue causeing reboots is still happening but im thinking it definatly has something to do with the battery level. the first thing i did after loading the rom was to use the flash and it crashed only had like 25-35% battery level. ill keeo playing with it just wish there was a automatic block of that almost like the stock app but ill just have to keep an eye on it
i do really like the rom the only thing that im not liking as much as what the jellykang rom had was the messaging app, the look of the other one was i think dark theme and the dark theme toggle is broken on this app, i would love to just import the one from jellykang but i am not sure how to do that.
anyhow so far so good. thanks!

well if thats the case then i really have no idea what it could be. i jumped in and did this test right after the rom past the setup and before it started loading all other 3rd party apps. im totally clueless honestly. maybe i should try a alt camera app see if that still crashes it. could it otherwise be the gapps im installing, looking at the rom thread it had a listing for the 2013 apps and 2012, i installed the 2013.. and when i installed the rom i reset everything. only thing i didint wipe was the sd card. so i dont know.
had this same issue..when i flashed jellykang...then i set d flash to auto...no more reboots...u can try this if u want...and if u still prefer an external camera...go for ucam from the play store
