What is the best way/app to manage user profiles? - General Questions and Answers

Hi folks,
My first post!
I'm running CM10.1 on rooted HTC ONE X.
I would like to use profiles to automate some settings on my phone, such as home, work, car etc that toggle WiFi, adjust volume, brightness...etc.
I can see three ways to do this:
1) Use CM10.1 profiles and add shortcut to profiles in quick settings panel.
2) Use NFC Task Launcher and NFC tags
3) Use Tasker and activate profiles by connecting to home WiFi, Bluetooth, near cell tower etc
I suppose I could also use a combination of the above?
What do you do? What are the pros and cons?
Thanks
Sent from Tapatalk... cos I can!

Customise quick settings, data on / off ?

I'm on a low end PAYG tariff so manually turn data on / off over 3g. The Moto G doesn't seem to have a quick way of doing this and quick settings don't appear to be customisable... ? Unless anyone knows different ?
Press the signal icon in quick settings.

stock android is like that on every phone
you must use power toggles from play store, or exposed framework and some modules

This takes you to the menu to then toggle it..... I've come from a HTC where you can just toggle via the icon in quick settings since my first android back in the day HTC Legend. I guess thats part of Sense and I'll need to use a 3rd party app. It just feels like such a basic feature though coming from a non-stock android experience.
Swipe with two fingers from the top then tap the network button(middle one), then tap "mobile data"
Thanks all
You could also use widgetsoid from the playstore.
One tap customisable toggles in notification area.
you could also use gravitybox together with xposed to override system default toggle behavior for some toggles (wifi, bt, data, etc)

[Q] Looking for a root app to manage settings and save battery life in one click

Hi guys, I'm looking for an simple app so I can create profiles and manage all the settings in one click.
I'm looking for something that would:
Turn off localization
Turn off sync
Turn off data
Turn off auto-rotate
Turn off bluetooth
Put the phone in 2G only mode
Preferably something that will look like a widget, so I can one-click turn off everything. I've looked at DU Battery Saver but it does not affect the root settings (like 2g only) and I don't want it in my notification tray.
Thanks a lot

Replacement for Gravitybox Quicksetting tiles?

Since the idol 3 doesn't yet work with xposed framework does anyone know of an alternative app that provides configurable quicksetting tiles that allow things such as toggling network mode from 2G, 3G and 2G/3G....toggling wifi ap mode, toggling usb tethering etc?

I currently use Notification Toggle. Doesn't have all the features but has most of the ones that I normally use plus it shows up automatically on the lock screen which is convenient.

I used to use xPrivacy, but it was kind of a pain to configure and I switched to the English translation of LBE Privacy Guard when Lollipop came out. LBE didn't require xPosed, but wasn't much easier. So I've let those go. I used to use an xPosed clipboard manager that I liked. I forgot its name. But it kept me in KitKat for awhile after Lollipop appeared because I didn't want to give it up. On long pressing the "Paste" button, it would provide a list of recent clipboard items, any of which could be chosen to be pasted into the active text field. So I've been using Clip Stack, which provides a list of recent items in the notification panel, any of which can be chosen to become the current clip or be pasted directly into the active field. Very nice, if somewhat clunkier to use.

2G/3G/4G switcher or toggle or widget or...

ok i searched many but cant find good widget/switcher/toggle for non root phone that can switch fast and easy between 2/3/4g network....any help?
anybody?
Back on the Galaxy S2, I used to switch lots of functions thanks to the app named "Power Toggles". I can't guarantee you that it will have a switch for 2G/3G/4G, but it might have one. Basically, it's a widget that you can customize by putting the switches that you want, in the order that you want. So you might want to have a look at it, just in case it does what you need ; )
Such Toogle Apps have been blocked by Google security for most settings since Android 4 or 5, i think.

Slider customisation

Hi,
Has anyone found any way of customising the slider yet? I'm used to using LOS on OP5T, so could customise the slider to different profiles, but in lieu of that is there an app/xposed module/magisk module that anyone has found that works with the OP7 pro?
Thanks,
Liam
It will still make your slider switch between silent vibrate and sound but if you want to add extra functionality check out my guide.

I dont know if Ill ever use the silent option. Would like to change that to Shazam
I'll never use the silent option. If i want no vibrations, I'll use DND.
What I would like is the following three modes:
1. Vibrate
2. All sound on, except for media
3. All sound on
The should be some way to do it using either Tasker, Magisk, or Xposed. But I haven't found one yet.
Does anyone know if it is possible?
