Anyone know how you could go about setting up lecture notes, or something similar, as a replacement for the mini floating s note?
Can tasker be used to do this somehow? I wanted to maybe use swapps, place a task shortcut there, have the task open lecture notes in multi window (open a multi window shortcut created), and have task then open a new lecture notebook in a specific directory?
Or, what simpler, but I didn't see, was if I could somehow set multi window to open a lecture notes widget that even just directed to one page only.

Hi all
Is there any way to have a widget or app shortcut that will send me straight into SuperNote (or another quality note app) with a new note open and ready to type into straight away? That would be be so handy. Currently have to launch SuperNote, select new, give it a name etc, before I can start typing. Need to be able to launch something that lets me start typing immediately.
Any thoughts on how this can be done, or other apps that will fit the bill?
Thanks
Gareth
For just a quick note that you type as opposed to write, I would just use evernote and put the widget on the screen. Just click the new note button (or voice note or picture note, etc..) and it opens up a clean new note for you.
I will give that a go thanks.
Any other suggestions welcome.
My only suggestion is the terminal. I.e. I have a vim running in dtach and use tmux (it's like screen), so when ever I am doing something, I can easily move to the "Notes" window (or run my notes script) annd scribble whatever; it goes into my "ScratchNotes.viki" and gets auto committed to git eventually.
For most people, just sticking a note on the home screen is more applicable.

I'm liking Evernote. Great suggestion thanks. However, I'd prefer a 1x1 widget size so that when tapped, it goes straight into a blank note. Evernote seems to have a 4x2 and a 4x1.
I'm picky I know but the quicker I can start typing the better.
If Evernote cannot do that is there another app you are aware that can? If I come across one that fits the bill I will post it here.
Yeah, I can't think of one that has just a 1X1 widget at this moment. I would just press the blank page icon with the "+" on it on the 4X1 widget to go directly to a new blank note. Not even catch has a single square widget that I know of...
What I would like is a note app that is as you describe along with the ability to directly handwrite (using my stylus or finger) instead of typing only...*shrug*

I agree a widget would be good, I am currently working on that. Thank you for your comment ^.^
Will have a try soon !!
Looking plain and simple... will have a look soon ...
You would be surprised how hard it is to find a notepad app that is plain and simple and not confusing the minute you look at it.
And then the few simple ones out there use really ugly buttons and colors.. =_=;
Maybe its just my taste and opinion though.
Looking good.
If you make a scrollable home widget and make a dropbox syncing option I would buy/donate in a heartbeat.

Bug on Xperia mini pro
Hey,
I am not sure if this is the right place to report a bug, but on my SE Xperia mini pro, it does not always save the notes.
When i open the app and no other notes are there yet, i press "Add Note" and type something. When i press "Save Note" then, it still says "No Notes".
I have to type my note two or three times, until it actually saves them.
Theres an alternative notepad app, called JotPad (you can find it on google play).
Unlike conventional notepads, you don't need to create new notes everytime. it comes with 5 empty pages which autosave, and allow you to write your notes. Just one click and you can start typing your notes immediately. It also lets you click any line on the page and let you type into that line immediately (without pressing enter numerous times)
Widget will be out soon hopefully...

I'm just wondering if someone can elaborate on this a little bit and let us know how to fix this. I don't seem to have the productivity toolbar or haven't found where to select it. Specifically I can't do the handwriting recognition.
Thanks
The first icon enables or disables edit.
Next to this, in fact to the right of it, is a group of 4 icons.
The first is the drawing icon, next is the icon that you're looking for.
By double tapping it you can change between various features including formula, shape and text recognition.
Maybe this is common knowledge but I just discovered today that different templates have different functions embedded in them that apparently aren't available in other templates, e.g. long pressing on the contacts field in the meeting template allows you to bring up your contacts, you can also bring up a change date window in the date field etc.
In the diary you can change the weather icon types, in travel you can open maps app and import a clipping of an area and so on. It's very disappointing that you cannot seem to insert/use these fields in every note. The functions you want don't appear to be in a memo based note but are in others.

Agreed. This seems like quite an oversight on Samsung's part. You should be able to use all of the functionality regardless of the template. This took me a while to figure out until I watched their videos over again and picked up on this.

Same issue here. You have to pick a template to suit what you want to create. Its quite confusing. There also seems to be little documentation about what template has what tool.I can understand the floating note pad not having all tools but everything in the full snote app should have them. Maybe a tools toggle button to turn on and off what you want in the tool bar would make even more sense.
But i still enjoy the device

Hi. Pls let me know if you ever found out if the memo template has the productivity tools icon. I also can't find it.
productivity tools
To reach the handwriting to text, click on the productivity tools twice or hover over the button with your s pen and click once (looks like the shape button) a drop down menu will show up with the handwriting to text on the last options. Hopes this helps :fingers-crossed:
HI all
I have note 10.1 2014, and the snote does not have productivity tool icon in any template I have tried. Can someone help me?
The attached image is what I get in snote:
thanks
couldnot attach the image, here is the link instead: image
The templates that come with snote have fields like date and time and other such objects not available within snote itself. The templates that are pre-packaged are nice but I would like to add others.
How do you create snote templates? Is there an app for this? Is there a how-to that details the extra features that you can put in a template?
+1
Also the possibility of using your own pictures as background would be great

Just wondering if anyone has worked out how to change the included templates yet?

For the Templates Background to be change, the images in the "template_custom_bg_q1" folder inside the apk need to be changed. It contains all the backgrounds for SNote.
For complete templates, you need to create SNB files and place them in folder assets\templates.
Not sure if this is in the Galaxy Note (phone) version of S-Notes but in the Note 10.1 (8013) there is an option to import your own image as a background file. Not sure about how to get the input fields to work but you can import a new image.
How to create a S-Note Template from a PDF file
When I imported pdf files, I just started Snotes, the app, not a new note, and under the menu picked import. Choose the pdf file but if you get the box that asks what to use to open it, ignore it, click on the screen with your pdf, make sure the file is selected and choose done up at the top. you'll magically go back to the snote screen with your pdf document showing. In order to save it, you'll have to at least make a mark and then can erase it so the save option will be available. When it's the blank you'd like to save to use each time, you can name it and save it as it is. Just be careful that whenever you open it to start a new blank, you need to rename the changed document so it doesn't overwrite your blank form. If it's helpful, when you're ready to save the 'template' open the menu and choose set as shortcut. That will give you the fresh template on your home screen. I put several running notes on my home screen that way and a blank 'template' - an Snote the way I like it set up. Just be careful not to overwrite it as I've accidently done a few times. Now I have extra blank copies.
At one point i had an application, thought it was Snote or Supernote.....
that when i did handwriting it converted to text automatically while i wrote (if i paused for a second).
It was really cool and in a cool font. I cannot read my own handwriting and this app did it amazingly fast.
Where is it and how do i get it back.
I have even flashed my Note Pro back to 4.4.2 to see if it was some sort of an update to Snote that i found while searching the forum.
Any way no luck.
Any help greatly appreciated.
I might be wrong but it sounds like you might mean the handwriting keyboard. This allows you to write in pretty much any application with handwriting. It puts a little notepad where the keyboard would normally pop up. As you write it converts to text with kind of a cool handwriting font. To access it make sure you have the default samsung keyboard. Then tap the little microphone/gear icon to the left of the spacebar. Then choose the handwriting icon. That should pop up the handwriting pad.
Alternatively there is a google handwriting input keyboard available in the app store, but I find the samsung one just as goo.
Yes I think thats it....i just am missing one piece of the puzzle....which app or application do i start to write my notes in?
I just tried Snote and it didnt do it and i also tries supernote but it didn't do it either.
I just would like to make some great notes and poems and such with a readable cool font....like you mentioned.
I cant seem to see how to attach a pic either... imgur.com/a/WuvaS
Also followed these directions,
tomsguide com faq id-1765262 enable-handwriting-text-note
but the function icon or the T button are not there.
Maybe I have the wrong Snote apk/application
Below is the process (from tomsguide website) that would help you enable the Handwriting-to-Text option in the S Note:
On your Samsung smartphone or tablet, tap the app drawer icon.
Tap the S Note icon to initiate the app.
On the displayed S Note screen, tap the + icon from the top right corner.
On the Select a template window, choose the template of your choice from the displayed list by tapping on it.
Once created, long tap (tap and hold) the Formula Match icon, i.e. f(x), from the Productivity Tools bar at the top left corner.
From the displayed options, tab Handwriting-to-Text icon, i.e. T, to select it.
You will see that now you can use the stylus to create handwritten characters on the page which are then automatically converted to the text.
In order to get the normal handwritten typing format back, you can simply tap the pen icon from the Productivity Tools bar.
You can also follow the 5[super]th[/super] step and select the Formula Match or Shape Match icon to make the S Note recognize the formulas or drawn shapes respectively using the stylus and convert them to their corresponding objects.
You can do it in S-note. After You open S-note make sure YOU select all from the drop down on the upper-left. Then hit the drop down men dots on the right and choose template. This gives you a much larger selection of templates like portrait notes and such. Choose whichever you like and write your note. You can either handwrite Your note or choose the T option and have it convert to text as you write. Once you have it converted to text use the selection tool. Choose properties and then change the font.
Thank you.
I am just flashing Nougat and will check in again later.
Yes the Handwriting Keyboard works.....just not the same as the Snote from before (like on the Note 2).
I did like the Magnetic Lasso.
