[Q] multicolour screen on boot - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody. I have flash a custom jb 4.1.2 samy based rom with dual boot 1.4.1 kernel and when booting the screen does some weird multicolour lines like broken for about 2 seconds. I read in cm10 thread that if i flash jb bootloader will be fixed. I never flash bootloader before. Will i lost root? Is it safe to do? Does anyone else has this problem? Thanks

Flash JB bootloader. People with ICS boot have the same problem. Boot loader will not lose root (It was tempting for me to write it does but it took all my self control to stop). Yeah its safe. Or you could just update to jb from stock ics.

Cant flash BAKED TF300T Blackbean rom anymore.

I would like to flash back the BAKED TF300T Blackbean rom. But after flashing sean's JellyBean-Hydro 1.4.6 i cant flash the rom anymore, i get stuck in Asus logo like many others. Im rooted and with unlocked bootloader. Im using TWRP JB version as Recovery now. Tried both CWM's also. CWM touch, wont make any difference. Normal CWM doesnt even work anymore.
I also played around with the fastboot and installed the stock WW30 (un-bootable), still cant flash the Blackbean. Is there currently anyway for me to flash it?
Hope i didnt forgot anything important to tell
Thanks

No, there is no way to flash the older roms after JB update till now. You are stucked with Stock JB or hydro until the devs come out with a solution to downgrade to ICS

Okay, currently im trying to flash any other JB rom to try out, stuck on bootlogo almost everytime. Even the Hydro's re-flash did cause the stuck in logo.
EDIT: Ok, looks like im currently stuck in Asus logo and no system. I hope that the dev's can figure something out.
I was just wondering, aint the Blackbean Jelly Bean rom?
EDIT: Is it the JB bootloader causing that i cant boot into any rom i have flashed?

Bkackbean and other custom jb roms are still using the ics kernel so until it's implemented on cm10 you can't flash after being on hydro or stock jb

[Q] flash properly JB ROM after a mistake on my part on ICS

Hi all!!
I'm a owner of TF300T, so there is a long time ago, I flashed CM9 (ICS) and when CM10 (JB) arrive I wanted to update the tablet but I didn't know that it was necessary to update to the last stock kernel to get the last JB bootloader, so when I flashed CM10 the tablet stucked on bootloader logo! :crying: After I tried to install different ROM like the last stock ASUS JB ROM or CM9 but nothing changed :crying:
Then I have flashed the JB blob with fastboot, now I can boot on JB but the tablet is very slow and there are bugs often!!
I tried to flash again CM10 but the problem stays :/
I don't know how can I do to install CM10 or an other JB ROM properly !!
Can anyone help me please
II didn't found anything which works fine , I would like to flash just JB bootloader but I have not found :/

I'll provide the links to blobtools and firmware to create your own blobs.
I think you would need to match the bootloader to your kernel which you can find under settings/tablet.
Blobtools Link 1
Blobtools Link 2
Link to Asus kernels if needed.
Good Luck!

Thanks man!!
I will try that tonight =)
Hi!!
I don't try to create my own blobs because I have not had time :/
So If I try to flash stock ASUS ICS ROM, is possible that it works well again?
Can I flash zip file with custom recovery or not? I think not, so How can I do?
If this methode don't works, I will try to create blobs Monday or Tuesday!
Thanks!!

Here is a link to the asus firmware check in the first three posts.
[INDEX][04 Feb 2013]TF300T & TG-INDEX of Roms/Dev Guides/Kernels/Recoveries/etc.
Bookmark the thread as you will find it very useful in the future.
I suggest using JB 10.4.2.9 (located in the third post)(choose the proper sku for your location) to get your problems sorted. Then upgrade to what you wish or flash non stock rom for the JB bootloader.
You will need to unzip twice to get a blob and flash with fastboot. I suggest this version since it was the first JB and set the stage for later updates. For stock rom I use 10.4.2.18 it seems smoother and less issues than the other stock roms. Once you flashed JB you can't flash an ICS rom; it is now JB or a custom rom for JB; no ICS. If you could get ICS to flash now it would brick your tablet. I suggest this method over just flashing the bootloader.
Good Luck!
Note: This will erase your apps and settings which is normal for flashing stock firmware. OTA updates do not clear data but I haven't found one for 10.4.2.9.
Hi !
I have done that and after I have flashed CM10.1 nightly and it works very well!
Thanks everybody

[Q] Cant install a single custom rom

Ive been at it all day but ive yet to install a single custom rom on my tf300t, all of them get stuck at the Asus boot screen. I started of with a stock ics tf300, i installed nvflash then tried to install Cleanrom (first flashing the posted jellybean bootloader) but it didnt work, stuck at boot screen so i tried installing the latest 4.2.1 stock jellybean which installed fine (im using the latest twrp) which i was over the moon about, but then tried both official and unofficial cm10.1 roms both to the same result, stuck at asus boot screen:crying:
I know i must be doing something wrong here but ive tried so many combinations and guides im all out of ideas. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.

Do you have a link to the stock 4.1.1?
Put a pin in this thread.
Boot-freezing when coming from 4.2.1 is because the 4.1.1 bootloader is needed and needed to be reflashed before custom ROMs would work. I just spent 6 hours dicking around the answer was right here.

I think you can get it directly from the Asus website

[Q] Installing CM10.1 on top of 4.2.1 bootloader

So, I decided to install CM10.1 on my TF300T, because I want to get some customization. But, there is 3 major questions where answers are yet to be found. I'm on official 4.2.1. My bootloader is locked. No root(but I've had a lot of root experience with my Xperias).
1) Is it safe to install TWRP on new bootloader? What are the pitfalls which I can encounter?
2) Is it safe to install CM10.1? Or I'll get the nice white and black brick? Again, what are the pitfalls?
3) What are the problems with current CM10.1? What is malfunctioning?
Thanks in advance and sorry for newbie questions - the process with this tablet is much different from Xperia phone, and the risk of bricking it is way too high for me to experiment(unlike Xperia, where I flashed BAT file into kernel partition on mistake, and restored it without any hassle).
You can't.
CM10.1 is using 4.1 bootloader. Forcing anything in this direction will result in brick. You can only flash stock 4.2.1 or CROMI 4.2.1
About twrp read guides. There are two versions for both bootloaders. Don't mess them or another brick will happen.
It won't boot so no point in trying.
If you want CM10.1 you need to downgrade the bootloader to 4.1.1. first. See thread in general for how to do that.

[Q] help with installation

Hi there!
This is my first post, ive ben around quite a while and never had to post this question.
But ive tried everything with the razr maxx hd to install cm11 because stock kk its really buggy reboots randomely
and terrible battery life, i have root, bootloader unlocked and custom recovery ive tried this:
1:
Stock jb, rooted bl unlocked, twrp 2.6.3.0 flashed a cm11(epinter build, the one that doesnt require kernel 3.4 ) and also slimbuild, aosp etc, and it doesnt boot
2:
Stock kk,rooted, bl unlocked, tried all recoverys to see if theres the issue (cwm 6.0.4.4, twrp) the .zip flashes correctly (unified cm11with kernel 3.4)
And no luck, it never boots
To get the phone back to life, i flash a stock sbf and boots back everything normal. I cant figure out whats missing or whats my error.
