I'm looking for a way to remove the IMEI from a NV data backup .qcn file and make it so anyone that has the same phone model can restore it and keep their own IMEI. I can locate the IMEI with a hex editor, change or remove it, but I'd like the file to work so it doesn't have to be edited every time to include the IMEI for each phone it's being restored to.
Is it as easy as setting all the blocks for IMEI to 00? Thanks in advance!

to restore it run efs_restore.bat /efs_restore.sh where you have your backup file.

Or simply copy the efs folder (the backup) onto / overwriting any exisiting files.
You can use root explorer or any other file manager that has root access (even a shell)
As mentioned in another thread, have you tried EFSpro?
It might help you out with restoring EFS folder! Take a look!

If you use the EFS Tool, within the zip file, there is a run efs_restore.bat (Windows) /efs_restore.sh (MAC-Linux) file. Just run the file with the phone connected via USB.
Here's the EFS Tool:

I just installed CWM (6.0.1.2) and made my 1st Nandroid on this phone. I wanted to store it on my PC so I navigated to the backup folder and there were 4 Nandroids, all with 1970 dates. I'm unsure which one is the one I just created, can I delete all 4 Folders and then make another Nandroid and have it be the only folder in backups?
Lastly, It's my understanding that I can rename the nandroid (folder?) as long as I use no spaces or special characters?
Thanks, I did a pretty extensive search without finding an answer.
I dont think u can change the names with cwm.. only twrp and to find the last one u did it will be at the bottom of the list u can write the numbers down on paper with a name if u want the 1970 is normal i dont think they fixed it yet.. it should say 1970-01 then ramdom numbers id use twrp

You can change the names in cwm through their rom manager app, I do it for all my backups. And by default for some unknown reason, cwm dates with a 1970 date. Still have yet to find out why.

I'm using teracopy with MD5 check. So missing/deleting any data is most probably not the problem..
Any advice on how to extract useful data from this non-working backup?
Can I skip the data check during restore process? And is data an important part in backup?

Easy solution that worked for me is :
create a new text document [ empty file ] and replace its extension , txt --> .md5 it will look like : nandroid.md5 .
now replace the file or paste it inside clock work backup folder .... not it should work properly !
press thank button if it helped !
