Run it using terminal?

Or simply copy the efs folder (the backup) onto / overwriting any exisiting files.
You can use root explorer or any other file manager that has root access (even a shell)
As mentioned in another thread, have you tried EFSpro?
It might help you out with restoring EFS folder! Take a look!

If you use the EFS Tool, within the zip file, there is a run efs_restore.bat (Windows) /efs_restore.sh (MAC-Linux) file. Just run the file with the phone connected via USB.
Here's the EFS Tool:

Dude my bad i did not search!! Thanks so much...
So here's what i understood-
The blob file makes a common back up file for all backups n only the difference in diff backups are stored in the folder' backup' right?
In other words when we make a backup
Only the files that are different are backed up.the rest are restored from blob
So both backup n restore well be faster

Re loneagl, do you need to to backup for a very long time?It took me at least 7 mins.

Yep..it stays at 'freeing up space' for long time.(i actually rebooted once thinking it had hung up)..the actual backup is only about 20 mb..the blob file about 800mb

there will be a folder in your SD card called twrp..go in that folder and paste the 'backup' folder in that.....make sure once you paste the back-up you reboot the recovery once again..just in case and than try it.
even after that if you face any problem than i would recommend using the latest CWM recovery.I personally find it easy to use and i have also faced few problems with twrp

than just do the back-up 2nd time after installing CWM recovery.
And,remember from the next time don't just cut-paste the folder with the name 'back-up'...cut the whole clockworkmod or twrp folder from the SD card...that would be detected easily...

it is unknown.. i saved a back up of my old efs folder.. will it help?? if it will how can i put in my device from my desktop?
i found a md5 file and a compressed file of my efs. how can i use it?
You could use a file explorer. Overwrite current .efs with the good one. Fix permissions & reboot. I don't know which file explorer you use. There are plenty of good ones in the play store. I use root explorer, but, it's a paid app.

just copy and paste it as it is? it is in .tar.md5
Did you use a program to back it up? Then use that program to restore.
If it's in a cwm backup, just extract with a zip program (winzip, 7zip). And yes, just copy/paste.
Check your file explorer, most have the ability to extract.

I used cwm on backing it up.. I restored my phone in stock I will try supermanager, will that work?
You might be better off doing one click back to stock again. Possibly reformat your sdcard. You should have imei back after one click

I'm using teracopy with MD5 check. So missing/deleting any data is most probably not the problem..
Any advice on how to extract useful data from this non-working backup?
Can I skip the data check during restore process? And is data an important part in backup?

No You Can't
You Should Now Try To Make Backup With CWM Or TWRP Or With ROM Manager Premium

Easy solution that worked for me is :
create a new text document [ empty file ] and replace its extension , txt --> .md5 it will look like : nandroid.md5 .
now replace the file or paste it inside clock work backup folder .... not it should work properly !
press thank button if it helped !
