Hello. When I use LWPs on my Xperia J, doesn't matter which, my launcher lags badly... I already tried the smooth LWP script but it didn't make any difference (Maybe I got the wrong process name? This what I've written in it: renice -15 `pgrep com.ra3al.launcher' I'm using the Xperia Z launcher and I think that's the right name...)
Is there any other way to make a launcher smooth while you have LWPs?

Maybe you don't have enough ram.
Try to stop Facebook, Skype etc. or kill this apps with Task Killer (I don't recommend to install Task Killers)

so i was just roaming around xda when i came across these, they are xperia launchers and timescape for the optimus black, i've tried out timescape and it works, will try the xperia arc launcher soon and see if that aswell. OBviously since its not made for the purpose of our phones bits and pieces would be missing, but still fun to try and maybe get it working with our stock launcher or something.
xperia launcher http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1397093
timescape http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1471578 . PS: can someone edit the updater-script file so it says "920" instead of "970" pleassse and then sign it so people on here can install on their optimus3d using cwm .THANKS
Xperia events http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1476946
this would be a cool feature to use on our phones
would this work on GB and Froyo?? or is it just for CM7??
yeh it actually looks good and is fairly smooth, well i tried it on gb (havent tried froyo), and didnt come up with any fc as such, only downside to timescape is you can only use it in the xperia homescreen

Instruction on how to flash must read and follow because if you don't i won't answer your questions simple as...
1. Make full data wipes TWICE*
2. Make cache wipe TWICE*
3. Make Dalvik wipe TWICE*
4. Flash rom
5. Enjoy if the home launcher does not appear try again..
The only reason i say wipes twice is because sometimes it does not pick up the launcher and you get a black screen so to avoid that i do it twice and the launcher shows up instead of a black screen..

Wow i heard a tonne of people complain about Liquid beats and that go ex launcher eats batteries and etc etc... But since there seems to be a few people messaging me about liquid beats then maybe i will update that rom and bring it back to life i suppose... So you can expect an update soon... My original project is going to make a come back lol...
Thanks for that after reading people hated LiquidBeats for its go launcher and stuff i kind of gave up on it seeing as it was my first ever rom but i will restart liquidbeats kinda wish people would just leave a comment and give feedback more oftern..
I would love a battery circle percentage icon, instead of the boring one that looks like a green stick of gum, lol
Just cook it yourself using the UOT kitchen, it's as easy as it gets.
I don't know, what if I break something?
could you make one, PLEASE, pretty please, lol

hey meemo,
can you also make an oc'd kernel for DNA.
i really like the look of it and adding more smoothness to it would make it even better. it's already smooth and fast but a little OC wouldn't hurt i guess
Now, i use Meemo23's XPlay3D ROM to replace the "LGHome" APK to use go ex launcher. This rom is very fast & stable.
is there problem with BT when i turn it on it restarts

It's because all the 21D roms have and must use 21A wifi and Bluetooth driver for the kernels to even work... So you have to sit down and fix permissions to the drivers manually..

Well, since you wrote "other launchers" you might as well install the Xperia launcher from the forum - it includes the OnOffTools and works on ICS and GB.
Make sure to make a nandroid backup before doing anything with it!

hahaha thanks anyway with other launchers i mean Nova or Go, i know that with xperia launcher it works
ah, you already are on sony .. my bad for not seeing it.. well, before I rooted I used Switchwidget pro, it's beautiful and I think it's quite close to what you need - it's not free, but it's highly customizable and it simply looks great!

There is no definitive answer for that question. Each user has different things installed on their phone so a theme what runs smoothly on one phone may lag a lot on another. The same goes for ROMS, each users personal experience is different from the next. You will have to test many different themes on your own device to see what runs the best for you. Make sure to follow the install instructions to avoid bootloops.
Oh i see, let me rephrase the question, "what theme for xperia j jb uses less ram?"
Try nova launcher and make all animations off. Also, freeze all unnecessary apps (play store, facebook) to get the fastest speed in menu.

Greetings,
I want to share some tips on how to get rid of annoying lag on stock ROMs. I have an Xperia J that now seems to have the speed of a dual-core phone (it's faster than an Xperia U). NO scripts, NO complicated or risky methods.
Requirements? Root - the most important thing, patience, Play apps, Forum apps.
1. Root App Delete is an easy, small and simple tool to get rid of the nonsense system apps. You can delete or only disable them - having a .bak file in system/app instead of an .apk
2. Greenify is an intelligent tool that helps you put apps "into hibernation when you are not using them, to stop them from lagging your device and leeching the battery, in an unique way! They can do nothing without explicit launch by you or other apps, while still preserving full functionality when running in foreground", as the creator say. You can only hibernate user apps; so many system, preinstalled apps must be deleted and reinstalled from Play.
e.g. Facebook is a hungry app, occupying large amount of RAM - therefore you have less battery and less response of the system when you want to open another app - because all Facebook's processes must be killed. Solution? Uninstall it from system/app and reinstall it as a user app. Then greenify it! It does not have to remain open in the background because of and hour or two of use per day.
3. Seeder is a lag reducing tool that "assists the kernel in "topping off" the entropy pool by re-seeding it with data from the non-blocking (high performance) random device", helping apps to load faster and avoid lag.
4. Xperia Honami Launcher. I know it doesn't seem much as a speed tool, but, trust me, it is. I have used many versions of Xperia launchers (including the one ported from Xperia Z) and, besides that the launcher itself wasn't as sharp and fast as on a newer, more powerfull device - the entire system felt somehow... slower. Opening different apps took longer, not very good multitasking experience...
The new Honami launcher is smooth, very fast - and my Xperia J is flying. Speed everywhere! System apps opening almost instantly, it's like a dual-core hardware experience.
Doubts? Just reply, ask.
P.S. 181 MB free when I entered 'Running Apps' just now.
Very good post, thx ^^ If you run facebook messenger, facebook, music player and a random game, how many free ram do u have??
This test is made on Vengeance 1.46? Have you tried that? Can u list me all trash apps you removed? Can you describe your Seeder's settings please?? Thanks in advance ^^

No, I use stock kernel, didn't change it so far. Perhaps Vengeance is better, I honestly don't know...
I deleted all social-related apps (Facebook, all it's plug-ins, all Twitter apps, special widgets) including all Timescape apps (Spine, Friends etc) and Sony's social widgets, like Friend's Music. Some of Google's stuff, like Text-To-Speech, Picasa plug-in, some ugly live wallpapers... The rest I don't remember.
I disabled: Playstation Certified, Connected Devices (and all DLNA stuff), Email (since I only use Gmail), Google Bookmark and Calendar Sync, Smart Connect, Chinese Keyboard, Xperia Diagnostics, Xperia Sync.
Use Seeder with all 3 options checked (Suspend RNG, Extend I/O, Start at boot). I use Light profile, seems to work very fine that way. :cyclops:

You can find all the links for download and installing info here: [APP][4.0.3+] Xperia™ Launcher 3.0.0 | Xperia Z Ultra | Honami | 24.Jul.2013
P.S. After installing the new launcher and widgets - you can disable the old/stock ones with Root App Delete. If you use both launchers, you will not have that much RAM.
