I tried to update to new baseband via this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1149530
I did everything as mention only mistake was that when everything was done, i directly booted into recovery and performed a clean install of ICYsnap 1.6 (by neko95)..
Now my phone is working without IMEI and serial that is it is not connecting sim..
Also LGMDP detects my phone only in recovery...
I have backup of nv2 file and need help restoring it..
have searched entire thread but no luck
Please give me instructions to repair and restore IMEI..
I am having CWM 5.0.2.0

Hi guys,
I'm very prowed to say that I succesfully downgraded my phone.
I nearly tried everything and nothing worked, always blackscreen
when booting with the old gb bootloader.
The probleme is that some p920s need a special
x-loader and u-boot file which nobody backed up. I just
got them and now restoring to gb will work for everyone.
Use this files too if you've downgraded from su760 ics port
and your having problems with network.
How to make your phone work on gb again:
1. Download this and extract:
mmcblk0p1-4
2. flash complere bootv21e when you are on ics
3. then go into fastboot mode with wkparks omap tool
4. open cmd and go into the directory with the downloaded files
5. type:
fastboot flash u-boot u-boot.img
fastboot flash x-loader x-loader.img
fastboot reboot
6. fix your imei
hope it works for you for me worked nothing else
WOW its working Thank u very much

Half a hour I read xbsals post the one whiches phones don't boot
after flashing the gb bootloaders would need a special bin which nobody has
because nobody made a backup. But then I remembered my post in samnos thread about downgrading from wrong flashed ics leaks with my first 4 partitions attached.

Likewise mate I stumbled across it after xbsall bootv21e did not work for me then I remembered samno's partition test which in turn led me to your files, I'm so grateful you backed these up. :highfive:

I had the same problem with internal memory, Booted into recovery and factoryreset/data/nvram wipe fixed it for me.
Thank you berni987654321
It works!
Now I'm sticking to GB until CM10 gets stable.
Should be a sticky imo given the amount of users unable to downgrade from ICS.

Hey guys, good news!!
ITS ALIVEEEE!!!!
Everything its OK!! Finally i could get back to GB with no problems, everything fine, no flaws, no mess...
The message "< waiting for device >" was because i was not on FAST BOOT, but on RECOVERY BOOT:
Just to clarify to someone who needs:
RECOVERY BOOT = no battery, volume UP press, connect USB, put battery (two arrows, sw upgrade)
FAST BOOT = no battery, volume DOWN press, connect USB, put battery (LG logo grayed)
After get into v21e, put usb in debug mode and flash your preferred KDZ or bin/FLS and be happy!
Thanks Berni... You are my hero!
just did a clean install v20d via lgmdp and then rooted it, thus loosing all the custom recovery (CR)
now here the problem arises...
installed ROM manager and found that it isn't showing the CR for new baseband (BB), just shows for the old one
installed goo manager and found that it still isn't compatible with our device
i found a file "twrp-thunderg-2.0.0alpha1.img" on internet while searching for device compatibility
now what should I do to install custom recovery?
all i have is .img files for both clockwork and twrp. I don't trust twrp coz they still aren't showing official status for our device
update -
i flashed recovery via lgmdp tool
but still, whats with the recovery mess?
Not sure. Possibly not supported anymore.
You can also use shinobisofts recovery flash tool.
I had done same as you and used it to flash cwm.

The recovery is a mechanism to repair or restore the devices OS. It is also utilized to install ROMs and updates.
sorry, what I meant was regarding the incompatibilities with the recovery. That was kind of you to explain what recovery is.
hello all, I'm a noobie. I'd very much appreciate any help... I want to backup my rom . no custom rom is installed, yet.
I'm rooted. have trwp on sprint samsung s5. build number kot49h.g900pvpu1ane5 .
I boot manually to recovery. the green android drops dead with a (!).
the choices are:
reboot device now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cach partition
apply update from cache
no option for backing up. any guidance would be helpful. thanks,
hal
That sounds like stock recovery. You need to get a custom recovery on there. You said you have twrp, how did you try to install it?

Thanks for responding. I used TWRP manager root when I tried to install twrp recovery. But I never actually booted into twrp.
I have philz_touch_6.41.6-klte
Will it work, and if so, how do I install it?
Have you ever used Odin? That's the best way.

here's what I did to get to where I was when I started the thread:
1. followed instructions in the qbking video that's mentioned in the step-by-step root thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2737724
2. that method uses odin. it seems to have worked. I verified root using root checker basic.
3. installed TWRP manager root.
4. could not boot into recovery using twrp manager or manually. could not back up to ext sd card from twrp mangr. . applied nextapp kitkat sd card fix.
5. using titanium root, backed up apps and data to external sd. no problem.
6. changed ext storage in twrp manager to ext sd. still won't back up rom to ext sd. tried "live backup" with changed storage location to ext sd. nope, the backup went into internal storage.
I am still rooted. can I switch from twrp to phiz? how would I do that? thanks for any help.
I never use 'manager' apps, I don't trust them. You can switch recoveries anytime you want to. I would use Odin since you can't get to recovery. Do you have the recovery tar file for Odin?

Hello. I have e8 version with single sim bought in China. I have to reflash the mobile phone because of the firmware in it with only English and Chinese. First I unlocked the bootloader and put TWRP. Then I reflashed the mobile with Oweida version 1.1.0. Firmware asked me standard questions, said that everything is in order and sent the mobile to reboot. After reboot I got a brick, not the reflashed mobile. The phone does not respond to button presses, it is not visible when connected to a computer. Steady HTC saver is on. My question is the following - is there any way to make it alive? Thank you.
I got Sprint E8 model and also bricked. Originally I thought I messed up with system/recovery so it will boot loop to fastboot screen all the time. However, after flash original RUU (either RUU tool or fastboot command method), it still boot to fastboot screen directly. Anybody have any suggestion or can probably help to resolve this issue? I believe my system/recovery has recovered, only I'm not able to boot to the OS normally.
Thanks a bunch!
If you can flash TWRP recovery and ask friend that have clean TWRP Backup you can restore again.

Thanks ian.anindya. I can flash TWRP but I don't think I can find anyone for its restore data.. Sigh..
Please do nandroid Backup or TWRP Backup before you do modification on your phone. This should be standard procedure to everyone.
Have you do wipe cache after update your rom? Sometime wipe cache could solve the problem.
Also, you can try contact pm with friend here that bring sprint model and favor to make clean Backup to share with you.
