Hello, i search some custom rom for old BB. Have you any idea. Rom must be for old BB. If you have any idea, you can send mě, private message. Thank you for understanding
You can flash ANY custom rom. Just use the "old bb fix" after you flash a new bb rom and you'll be fine.

good day to all..
im new with this phone..this one is a korean version of galaxy s1(shw m110s)
im confused with how to install custom roms here...
what do i need to download..a kernel or a custom rom?
thanks xda
Moved to General Q&A.
The kernel allows the ROM to communicate with the hardware specific to your device. All ROMs have a kernel build-in. If the custom ROM is designed fir your phone, it will work fine. If the ROM was intended for a device in the same family as yours, you can flash that ROM, then flash the kernel for your phone, & it'll work. If the ROM was designed for a completely different device, nothing will get it to work.
Remember to always do a nandroid backup before flashing stuff!!

Hello xda. My friend recently ordered an one s and he asked me to make his phone good. I'm from another forum(u8800pro) and i post ROMs there so i don't have the time to work on this phone and I'm asking you here.
1)Is there any 4.2 ROM? If so is it stable?
2)In case he wants 4.1.x what's the best option for a guy that knows NOTHING about android?
3)Which is the best kernel for 4.1.x?
4)Which is the most stable ROM for daily use and hard gaming anyway?
5)How to root it?
6)Which recoveries are available for this phone?
7)What is the ROM flashing method for this phone and what is hboot?
8)What is needed to flash a ROM on the phone exactly as it comes out of the box?
Any help is appreciated because the phone will arrive in 2-3 days.
-UPDATE its an S4
Thanks in advance!

To answer any of this you first need to know if it's a S3 or S4.
Because this determines which ROMs or recoverys you can flash.

CM10 would be your best bet then and you will need to fastboot the boot.img and TWRP is the best recovery to use.

I'll never understand the deal with CM.
Personally I dont like it at all. There seems to always be at least one important feature not working properly.
I go against the stream and say, if hes not used to android I think rooted stock with maybe a different kernel would be more than enough for him.
The only downside with stock rom is that it lacks features for the more advanced users (like the majority on this site ).
Other than that the stock is actually pretty damn good.
Its by far the best stock rom Ive encountered, but this is my first HTC device though (unless you count my old QTek 9100 )

yes, i recommend to check cm 10, cm 10.1, pa 3.68, pac man good luck
edit: this roms are based on android jellybean 4.1,4.2 depend of version, tab will works smoother but not all options are working, u can read about this in threads.
Thank you. This is my second tablet. I had one (lepan) a year ago, but had to get raid of it. My phones were( and is) HTC and I am familiar with android kitchen. I am not sure if the kitchen support this device. I read that scary stories about the ICS brick and I did run the app to test my tab. It does have that brick bug. I do not think that I will "mess" with this tab. It is working good so far. Thanks.

Hello people!
I have one question about backup of stock ROM.
I want to put custom ROM on my HTC device, but I cant find my stock ROM and kernel in case I needed to return it on stock ROM.
My question is when I do a backup of my stock ROM, is it going everything stock? Even kernel?
For example, If my HTC broke down and I need to send him to mobile carrier on repair, If I put backup of my stock ROM is it possible to see that I was flashing custom ROMs??
Sry for my english,
Thank you!

official update for lg p500 is GB 2.3.3 it can be updated through pc suite if you want to upgrade to KK or JB you can flash custom roms available on xda. You don't need to unlock bootloader. No, it is inbuilt kernel. If you want to use kitkat you can use cm 11 by mukulsoni :good:

for custom rom do I have to update firmware first or u just flash on CWM recovery??? okay my device still froyo rightnow...
Most of the custom roms released recently will work only with new baseband (i.e. official update to GB 2.3.3 from LG) then root / install recovery / custom rom.
Make sure u do a nandroid backup !

Google Now works on my P500h. The only thing that doesn't work is speech recognition. Try clearing data or do a clean flash of the ROM.

To install, get rid of the quicksearchbox on /system and side-load Google Search.
May need to set voice speech language to something absurd to avoid FCs on type-in searches.
There is a an Google Now Speech Wrapper app to insert online speech recognition into Google Search. I use Overlays to place its shortcut over the mic icon, look ma, no FC.
Make sure hotword "OK Google" option, if offered, is off.
