[Q] Boot Failure after installing Chainfire 3D - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Question:
How to turn back my phone to normal after installing Chainfire 3D v3.3? Or how to uninstall the chainfire 3d driver?
What Happened:
To improve gaming experience, I happen to tumble with Chainfire 3D. I read that this is not compatible with JB. But the notes in the page where I downloaded the Chainfire 3D apk says that it requires ANDROID - 2.1+, so I concluded that JB 4.1 passed the requirement. After installing Chainfire 3D, I installed its drivers, phone automatically reboots, then voila! I am stuck with the SONY logo.
I tried to do some research on how to undo the Chainfire3d installation and i found this:
"To uninstall it I installed ADB, I went to CWM and from console of ADB I executed this: adb shell /system/lib/cf3d_uninstall.sh"
And now my 2nd problem appeared. I CAN'T ENTER THE CWM! T_T
I am wondering why. I remembered entering it when I rooted my phone. (Turn-On, wait for blue led, then press Vol+ and Vol- simultaneously)
But now, it doesn't work anymore. I tried reading some posts here about entering CWM, tried all of them, still no luck.
Now, I am stuck with the SONY logo. What shall I do? T_T
Technical Details:
Rooted Phone: Yes
Bootloader Unlocked: Yes
Phone Model: Sony Xperia J ST26i
Android: Jellybean 4.1
Additional Details:
I rooted my phone using some tutorial that includes a fastboot mode. I read somewhere that using fastboot mode has only temporary recovery mode. Thus, it will be impossible for me to enter CWM since it is not existing anymore in my phone?
A shed of light will be greatly appreciated. A solution would be exemplary. Thanks.
Jay-Arr

Did you read/search the CF thread for similar cases? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1087427
It's better to ask this in the Xperia J forum, i've asked for this thread to be moved, hopefully it'll be done fairly quickly.
I dunno much about Xperia devices.

Yeah, I already read that. Unfortunately, after I installed the Chainfire 3D. This problem of mine actually leads me here to XDA.
And there's no information there either on how to undo it if someone happens to installed it on Android 4.1 and above.
I actually read several threads here so far regarding the chainfire 3D limitiations. But none has any solution to my problem.
I wanna try the solution i found, but I couldn't access my CWM. I also read several posts about entering CWM here. But just I said, all of them didn't worked for me.
The worse case could be, I dont have a CWM yet. Given that that is true, and given that I am stuck with the SONY logo, can I still install a CWM on my phone given these circumstances? I also read that there's no CWM yet for Xperia J 4.1 users yet. T_T

Yes that is what i suspected, that you dont have CWM but rather the stock recovery. But i dunno the flashing procedure of xperia well enough.
Maybe enter fastboot and flash a different rom? cm10?

Hi,
Can you check this link for me?
rootlord.blogspot.com/2013/04/root-sony-xperia-j-jellybean-112a021.html?showComment=1371884082709#c8724425202135341446
That's how I rooted my phone. As you can see, I accessed CWM there.
For reference, here's the process:
1. Connect Your Xperia J To Your PC
2. Download This Root File- Root_xperi_signed.zip
3. Copy "root_xperia_signed.zip" file to sd card (ext...)
4. Disconect Your Xperia J and switch it off
5. Launch Xperia flashtool
6. Hold volume + button and connect phone with usb cable to pc, you'll saw blue led light (Now You have entered to Fastboot mode)
7. Download this: Boot.img
8. Copy "boot.img" file to flashtool/firmwares
9. Click on lightening icon in flashtool and click fastboot mode
10. Click "Select kernel to Flash" on right side in flashtool
11. Browse and choose "boot.img" , flashtool will automaticly flash this file
12. Turn off phone after flashing
13. Turn on phone, when you'll see blue light at bottom phone not the small blue led up, start pressing all volume buttons + and - .
14. If you succed, you'll enter to CWM recovery, click "install zip from ext card" and find "root_xperia_signed.zip" file and flash it.
15. After flashing, click reboot system, but don't wait for reboot, just take battery out for few second and put it back
16. Now download: kernal.sin and copy "kernel.sin" file to flashtool/firmwares
17. Follow step 9 and 10.
18. Disconnect phone and Switch It On.
I am thinking, for me to have an access to CWM, maybe i can try to re-do Steps 5 to 13?
What I dont know is that, since I am re-flashing the same image file (back when i rooted my phone), can it result into something unexpected? such as bricking my phone? What's your opinion on this?
Thanks.

Yes, worth a try.
No, i don't think anything odd will happen from flashing that boot.img.

Failed.
I went to all the trouble this guy made, forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124668&page=2
I still ended up in SONY logo in the end. Nothing changed.
By the way, how can I turn ON USB Debugging from PC? From the flashtool it says that it's off, where in fact it's always turned ON before this catastrophe happened to me.

Not possible http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27745780
But you should be able to flash roms and boot images from fastboot successfully, wonder what's wrong.

Im down to my last resort i guess. Where can I download ROMS/IMAGES?

Here in the Dev and Original Dev forums http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1976 of xperia j, read carefully though.

same thing happened to me. Here's what fixed it
Yup same thing happened to me with my galaxy s4. Here's what you gotta do. Install SAMSUNG kie. Going to the tools and there will be a option to restore your phone. Click on it and it will have you enter your model number and serial number and this could be found underneath the battery. After doing that will give you a small directions to follow. Then it will download the latest firmware for your device and bring you to the installation screen. Here have you remove your battery and put it back together and boot into download mode. After this it will have a few boxes for you to check and you'll be able to start it. You'll see loading bar come up it will restore your phone to factory settings. Once you get it all set up again you could use kie to make a backup of your phone. Then you'll be all set.

chainfire not work for jellybean

I gave up on finding a solution for this one. I just flashed a stock ROM using flashtool to my Xperia J. Re-installed everything.
One thing I learned though, read before you click. ^_^
For anyone trying to find xperia official firmwares, here's the link:

Thanks guys.

INSTALLED CHAINFIRE 3d got Stocked on SONY Logo [Xperia J]
I've had the same situation too, here's the fix for it
if you UNLOCKED your BOOTLOADER
RELOCK it, I used Flashtools for UNLOCK and RELOCK
Then install SONY UPDATE SERVICE
REINSTALL YOUR FIRMWARE
that will do the trick

I got the same problem with my xperia j.. please Help

[Q] Bricked Xperia X8 after custom rom installation

I don't know if this question has been asked a lot. But i had a problem after installing a custom ROM. I installed the custom ROM using x recovery menu. It said something about kernel error. So i rebooted after that and the boot screen loads till the sony ericcson logo and it dims the screen a bit and freezes there. I cant even access the xrecovery menu. Nothing works from there. I have to remove my battery to switch it off. I tried using flash tool. I press the back button after connectiing the usb cable in flash tool flash mode. It detects the device in flash mode and says some error and says to disconnect. After the device is detected in flash mode the device start automatically and again freezes at the sony ericsson logo screen. Please tell me if this can be fixed. Or do i have to give it to the SE service centre?
same problem here .any help ?someone?
Was the ROM even designed for your phone?
I'd go as far to say as you may be screwed, if you can't even boot into recovery.
When I semi-bricked my phone and got it stuck on the boot logo, I had to hunt for 2 hours for it's stock firmware to flash through odin, because nandroid is stupid and the phone still didn't work after restoring the so-called "complete backup" that I had it make.
So basically, you can't boot into recovery, and when you go into download mode to flash through Odin it doesn't work? I'd try Odin again and follow the required steps exactly, because if your phone starts to boot, it should work, and I think you should actually be able to get into recovery.
i resolved with an older version of flashtool (FlashTool_0.2.9.1) which i found it here in the forum on a tutorial.thanks anyway
use SEUS
Hello, no need to return to Sony Ericsson warranty.
Just use SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) or a PC Companion, i think it works with all of the xperia phones, but im not sure.
Go to google, type "sony update service" without qutes, select 1.st result, click download.
TIP:If you have problems getting to recovery mode, then take out the battery, plug in USB cable, hold back key, insert battery, still hold the back key until the utility says so or there a notification light
The link is for X1 , but it should work. But remember, before you ask a question, search it up first, there are several tutorials out there.

[Q] Another method to root UCLB3 gingerbread update

After many many days and countless hours ive found a easier way to root UCLB3 2.3.6 gingerbread ATT official update. i have tried this on two different phones with success (HOWEVER TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE. IM JUST SIMPLY STATING WHAT HAS WORKED FOR ME ON TWO DIFFERENT PHONES ONE BEING MY WIFES AND THE OTHER MY SONS.) Ok this is what i learned. The Captivate Glide and the Infuse are near identical in build properties, boot sequences and partitions. they were close enough for me to try this and it worked. OK follow the steps just as listed... I did this on a windows 7 pc so i am not sure about any others.
1. Download and save CWM recovery tar to your pc.
2. Download the Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip from below and copy it to your phone via the usb cable. (you will need it in a few moments)
3. Make sure the proper drivers for your phone is installed on your pc. if not visit samsung mobile website download page for your device and download and install them.
4. Download and install Odin 1.85 if you do not already have it.
Ok thats all you need so now lets proceed with what you need to do. again follow these steps exactly or dont cry to me if it dont work.
1. make sure usb debbugging is checked on your phone.
2. turn phone off.
3. right click the odin file you downloaded earlier and click run as administrator.
4. put phone in download mode by pressing both volume up and down and power button while pluuging the phone via the usb in the computer.
5. once in download odin should recognize your phone if you took the time to make sure you had the right drivers for your phone. when odin recognizes your phone you will see a yellow com in the first window.
6. make sure repartition is NOT checked.
7. click the pda button and navigate to where you saved the cwm.tar file on your pc and select it.
8. then click go.
9. when done you will see the yellow box turn blue and say pass. if not you will see a red box that says fail. in that case go back and folow every step but do not unplug your phone from the pc until you see a blue pass. when flashing you will see it say recovery image dont panic this is normal.
10. after you get a blue pass and have successfully installed clockwork recovery reboot the phone into recovery mode by holding both volume up and down and press power untill you see the att logo then release the power button only.
11. once in recovery mode you will see install update from sd card. arrow down to that and press the power to select it. navigate to where you saved the superuser zip file at on your phone and select it. you may have to do this 3 or 4 times but keep doing it it will eventually root the phone and push superuser. one phone it took 3 tries and the other 4 tries.
12. when it installs succesfully reboot phone and make sure superuser is installed.
13. go to google market and down load two apps. one busybox install it, the other rom manager. install busybox first then rom manager.
14. open rom manager then click fix permissions. do not skip this. if you do dont wine to me about any apps that dont work any more or any force closes you may get.
and thats it. enjoy. as i said this worked for me twice with no problems but those are the exact steps i did and it worked for me....
hummmm?

Hello friends,
Please help me. I rooted my phone Tipo (Android updated to latest), Installed the startup manager. Permissions denied app. I denied permissions to a few games and apps. and then locked, then reboot through it. Now my phone starts for few seconds. When I unlock the screen and try to touch something, it hangs and shuts down immediately and restarts after a minute. This restarting is Cycling continuously.
I am removed the battery to stop the restart cycles.
I think its time to flash the phone manually. Its only phone I have right now.
Can you help me? Please show me a post, or link that will guide me with manual flashing.

first thing you need is flash tool .download from here http://androxyde.github.com/ download and install it
then you need a stock firmware download it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001567
copy it to the flashtool/firmware (where you install flashtool)
install the drivers from the drivers folder inside flashtool
you are ready to flash the firmware(make sure there is no other file in firmware folder exept you mobile's firmware)
1. start the flashtool
2. click on lighting bolt button
3. choose flashmode
4. make sure wipe data and wipe cache are checked
5.click ok
6. after flashtool prepairs files for flashing ( it will told you to unplug and press back button and plug it in BUT YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG YOUR MOBILE,, SWITCH IT OFF(I KNOW ITS ALREADY SWITCHED OFF) PRESS AND HOLD VOLUME DOWN KEY WHILE PLUGING IN YOUR MOBILE
when flash process starts release the volume down key
7. wait for flashing process complete .. .(it will stuck at 94% for just few seconds don't worry )
after flashing process complete switch on your mobile.....good luck
after flashing if you want to root it ..follow the guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1978
check the attchments..for screens
Hey Moderator,
Please remove or lock this post or something, just in case if it is not appropriate here.
The phone was a Brick who was constantly saying nothing other than "Look I am not a Brick".
I solved the problem. The Sony PC companion did not do anything. Using the old Update Service I reinstalled the phone software. Now it is completely renewed. Touch issues also seem to be gone. ))

A whole lot of problems with Xperia J - please read

Yesterday, I started unlocking my bootloader on Xperia J ST26i in order to eventually finish with installing ParanoidAndroid 3. It all went successful until I got to the last step of rooting the device. This - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183737 - is the method I used. I was confused when I got to step 16, because the kernel I copied for flash didn't show up. So, I'd finish with two choices after shutting the phone down, having exited CWM Recovery. I would either open CWM again, after seeing LEDs glowing purple/blue in order to press Volume down key to enter CWM - or to ignore and finish seeing grayscreen. Luckily, I was able to find a JB 4.1.2 kernel for my rooted Xperia J, so I put it and flashed it instead of the ICS kernel provided on the thread I referred to. That solved the problem. I had JB 4.1.2 installed and rooted with ROM Manager installed along with SuperSU app. The next step I was going to do was to install a ClockWork Recovery, I hesitated installing PA3 directly without a recovery image. Ironically, CW Recovery is what really made all the problems now. Searching on Google I found a way to boot directly to ClockWork Recovery, I pressed and held the buttons for initiating it but I ended up with literally no way to normally boot the phone. So, I couldn't turn on the phone except in fastboot mode. In fastboot, I whiped all the data, reset to defaults, reinstalled the boot.img and JB kernel, however after all the resets and whipping anything that, according to many sites and devs, should make the phone function again...it failed. After a dozen times of taking out the battery, button combos I ended up not being able to access neither fastboot mode with CWM showing all those options for whipping, installing etc. Only phone's upper LED was working and it blinked red so I recharged the phone, then it was all the same but it'd blink green. After another hour of trying to turn on the phone in any mode, nothing good happened. When I held the power button, it vibrated but after a minute or so only green LED activated. Then I downloaded recovery exit zips that I'd install if ever got to CWM again. I tried once again to directly boot into CWM recovering by holding the power button down and both sides of volume rocker. It blinked light blue, then green and later blue. Device flasher couldn't read the phone, so I opened flash mode. It read it, but any installation of boots or kernels failed because of the phone that either disconnected or simply failed. There was no way for me to put more files on Internal Storage or SD Card, only those LEDs started behaving the way I described. After another twenty times of battery removing, 10 second and 30 s waiting, button combos, anything I could find on Google, nothing changed. Except, suddenly, the computer is able to link with the phone after holding power button for boot that only activated the green/blue/violet LED. Still, no response from flashing program, still failed to enter fastboot, CWM, direct CWM Recovery etc. But, now when my phone is, let's say, turned on with green or blue light, I can access SD Card and Internal Storage via Windows Explorer. Just below the hard drives, I can see my phone. Great? No, it's not Xperia J as it should be, PC detects Xperia Tipo. I also noted that it's mistaken SD Card for Internal Storage... Let's see what happens when I remove SD card from the device. Please help...
Bricked
And yes, this means it's bricked. Can't boot into CWM or anything. It's only good as a storage unit, energy consuming or as a brick. I got this phone in January so please don't tell me it's irreversibly hard bricked.

Okay, so first calm down. Any sign of life means it's not hard bricked but just soft bricked.
1st download flashtool: link
2. download ur stock ftf link
3. flash it with flashtool
and u should be fine again, back to stock with a fresh phone.
Can't fastboot device - remember: button combos don't work
I've also found some solutions for more severe soft-bricking, by the way. Anyway, how to make phone open fastboot? I've said it's unresponsive to all of the button combo commands. Though, I tried one more time.
Opened the flashtool... Held volume up and plugged in the USB cable...

sony xperia j - alarm problem
Hi guys,
I bought Sony Xperia J and 2 months ago I upgraded the Android to the latest version 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).
After the upgrade the Alarm on the phone does not go off, it starts to ring (the alarm) only when I press the button to unlock the phone, I've read somewhere that when the screen is off the clock is not refreshes properly or something like that.
Can you please, help me?
Regards
Lol I know that feel bro.... It happened to me few days ago but no worries i just flashed the firmware using flashtool whenever i failed. Now i'm happy with my CM10 with vengeance kernel... its not the phone that's causing the problem its up to us how we handle it and i didnt find PA3 that interesting it was too laggy for me...
I didn't experience any of such problems that you have, but still listen to the man's advice. Install CM10. It speeds up your device, gives you options, frees your Android. My friend knows the feeling of switching from iPhone to Nexus 4 and he's like he's enlightened or something, well once again, the feeling is the same if you switch from stock Android to CM or Paranoid. I suggest you install CM because Paranoid made me a lot of problems when installing even though I did everything right, and people claim that CM is more stable...

[Completed] brick problem, noob here, plz help

my problem is kind of abnormal. i couldnt find solution anywhere so i came here. my device was zenfone 5(t00f)/lollipop.
so i wanted to root my phone. i followed this guide >>
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/general/zenfonetoolkit3-24-40-87-t3406557
the tool i used is called ZenfoneToolkit_20160719, downloaded from here
HTML:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B0AFmAAcGS5xbWpTQzBQVTN3b1k
. its a bundle of .exe, .dll, .img, .bin files. but no need to work on them seperately, there is a simple cli tool from which you can choose what you want to do and it executes that file for you. below is the list what you can do.
1. Wipe Cache
2. Factory Reset
3. Flash Boot
4. Flash Recovery
5. Flash Fastboot
6. Flash Stock ROM
7. Root
8. Unroot
9. Unlock Bootloader
10. Relock Bootloader
11. Zenfone Rescue aka Debrick
12. Fixing Generic IMEI 004999010640000
13. Backup MicroSD
14. Flash Boretz Kernel Lollipop
so wiped cache[1] first then i tried to root[7]. sadly it didnt work, when i turned the phone on it took me to fastboot screen, there i had only a few options like, normal boot(doesnt happen), recovery mode, restart. when i turned it off and pressed power and volume up together it would go to recovery where none of the options works. i though that was what called brick, so followed this guide to make my life better

. i dont know what "ww" means in those name but i saw it in my software version before so i went with it.
All the steps went smoothly, by the end of it i guessed my phone charge would be low so i put it in charge and turned it on. first time it turn on without a problem. i checked out a few things and leave it for charge. after a while i came back and battery was 0%. i thought i would be wise to plug out and in charging port again. as soon as i pull out the pin, screen instantly turned black and the phone went dead after a looooong ass vibration.
now when i try to charge the orenge light at top lights up but the animation that shows battery always show its empty. if i try to turn it on while plugged, it shows asus logo/intel logo and goes dead again. if i try to turn it on without being plugged, it shows a battery logo with a question mark, which i think means the phone cannot find battery.
i am stuck here.... plz someone be my savior.
