Sorry that I can't post this in the proper thread because I don't have ten posts yet. The thread I refer to is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248063
I am having a little trouble related to the MultitaskToggle app. My understanding is that it is supposed to allow you to leave apps running in the background, so I installed the app and developed a small app to test it. The idea is that it should append the time to a text file once every second for fifteen seconds, then there is a button to display the file. I know the app works because if I leave it open and watch it for the whole fifteen seconds, it works and the file contains fifteen string representing consecutive seconds. However, if I back out of the app (using either the start button or the camera button), one, I can't resume the app, so I have to restart it. Two, when I do restart it, it only has ten seconds worth of data. I suppose this means that it was working in the background, but it didn't finish.
The two problems that remain:
1) Why didn't it finish?
2) It acts the same whether I have MultitaskToggle toggled on or off. There is no difference.
Can anyone help me with this?

I got my Vario IV at the end of January this year. I've just had it replaced by T-Mobile under warranty due to some screen issues.
It appears that T-Mobile have upgraded the phone since I got my first one. For a start the d-pad now works 100% reliably!! When using the calendar I can move up/down/left/right using the d-pad with no problems at all! Like everyone else the left/right would hardly ever work on my old Vario IV.
TF3D now has a plain home screen with a normal digital clock, not the flip clock. It also has "MobileTV and Video" on the tabs.
When looking at the back of the phone with the cover removed there are several date stamps. The new phone has newer dates for all, but the revision numbers are the same.
Old:
By sim - 08/08/11 REV: G03
By card - 08/07/30 REV: B03
By battery - 08/07/28 REV: EU12
New:
By sim - 08/11/20 REV: G03
By card - 08/08/13 REV: B03
By battery - 08/10/24 REV: EU12
Before switching to a WM6.5 ROM I was using the latest ROM provided by T-Mobile. The current T-Mobile ROM download is the following version:
ROM Version: 1.69.110.8
Radio Version: 1.02.25.19
Protocol Version: 52.33.25.17
My new Vario IV is much later:
ROM Version: 1.95.110.59 WWE
Radio Version: 1.08.25.20
Protocol Version: 52.44.25.24U
I did do a search, but I couldn't find much up to date info on the Vario IV. I don't know if this is old news but just having a phone where the hardware buttons actually do what they are supposed to do is a good upgrade!!
This new ROM seems quite a bit more responsive than 1.69.110.8 as well.
Hi.
I may be imagining this but I recently updated my phones software to mango using Zune and the disconnect from internet method.. see below. Afterwards I have noticed a real decline in download speed and general connectivity. In my workplace eg. I usually get full 3G or H connection, now I cannot even get a signal to make a call... at home whilst I still have a 3g connection it is nowhere near as good...
I ran through the software update fine with no glitches and the software works fine but I am wondering if I have missed a trick along the way ?
Here is what I have tried so far (without success)
Disabled power saving
Reset to factory
Un-installed extra apps
Manually selected operator
Could anyone shed any light on this for me please?.
Many thanks

Hi,
I recently got this phone and I´m interested in update because of some bugs.
bug 1) Phone display go dark and the phone freeze when I try to call somebody until the call end (in 50% cases, sometimes it works)
bug 2) GPS jumps from place to place (some software doesn´t work at all). In google maps GPS eg. it jumps from place to place (sometimes it gets the right location but after few seconds it always jumps elsewhere) AGPS and internet connection was also on. It is worthless that way for a car navigation.
So I was wandering if it is possible to flas a new android and solve those problems.
Specs:
Brand: alps (label: Samsung on the back )
Model number: U920+
Android version: 4.0.9
Baseband version: MAUI.11AMD.W12.22.SP.V8.P2, 2012/08/22
Kernel version: 3.0.13
Build number: E1911_V77_ZGTX6_20120904
System updater says that the phone is rooted
The phone looks very similar to galaxy note, but it has only 480*800 display
Can you help me update this phone or fix those bugs?
U920+ update
Hi Johnnnnnnnnnny,
I've got two of the same phone, I'm not an expert, maybe one of mine (the other is clean, already in the box) the only bug is the flash on the screen on calls, not a great problem for me, resolved using the power button to end the calls.
The GPS is eccellent for my poor usage.
If it's possible, can I help you with an image of my phone clean? I had a backup complete with omegavesko-SimpleADBBackup but think is not sufficiente
My phones are localized in italian (NOT ROOTED, I search on the web to make this), but I think is not a problem, for you.
But I'm not able to do an image flashable of the phone, if you or somebody can help me to make this, I can try.
With an english for kids, You can see that: is not my language!!

how to fix the screen flashing when you call
go to the screen settings
at the very end is als_ps calibration
put a book on the phone and press calibrate.
when it's finished (display ok on the screen) your problem will be fixed.
good luck
This phone is sold was the LG Zone 4 at local shops. It's a prepaid of course.
Here is box cover:

Checking the stats and enabling the developer menu I found it odd that while it does have USB Debugging mode checkbox, there is absolutely no option for OEM enabled, nothing in the entire developer's menu has the term OEM.
Checking the hardware information the stats are as follows:
Model Number: LM-X210VPP
Hardware Version: Rev. 1.0
Android Version: 7.1.2
Android security patch level: May 1, 2018
Kernel Version: 3.18.31-perf-ga50810t [email protected]
Build Number: N2G47H
Software Version: X210VPP10c
PRL Version: 15371
The developer menu I enabled, I've done nothing else beside ads a blank SD Card for storage, it has usb debugging available but no mention again of OEM anything.
I'd really like to root this device as it's actually a fairly nice device. I have absolutely no plans to use it as a phone, just a wifi device, with of course Google hangouts and Google dialer installed since I have a 2 block wifi mesh network that I "could" use for phone calls. But that is beside the point.
Is this device capable of being rooted, perhaps if so if someone could say how easy or meticulously tough it may be. And I would most humbly appreciate any info and/or links to help me.
To be honest I'm not interested in installing a custom firmware, or a backup solution. I am just wanting to root it so I could install supersu if at all possible.
I would appreciate any help anyone can offer, if impossible I understand and will wait in hopes something comes along.
All I can find are for overseas versions with the OEM toggle in the deve, opera menu which mine doesn't have. Although it does have the ability to toggle option to install non play store apk's and the ability to enable USB debugging and change USB from charging to mtp, to midi to Ethernet tether, to audio source and PTP.
Anyone familiar with these devices and could possibly help me out or am I screwed for now?
I appreciate your time and thanks for any information you can give.
I need to find root as well

Hi All,
I need help with my Head Unit malfunction. ( Chinese aftermarket equipment ) worst buy of my life
it can be SW issue or Bugs or maybe also HW issue

All functions are working fine, from Radio to Phone, Steering week comand, and so on, but if no touch I can't use all functions. Just radio and not too much more. All possible interactions with physical buttons are ok.
As mentioned time to time works fine, no specific reason behind, at list I don't see just works. But as mentioned 95% of time no response from touch
Kindly someone had a similar issue? Is any SW upgrade / Downgrade possible? Is ANY ROM available to make it works?
Someone can send me related files and procedures to apply if any?
