1.6 Accounts & sync = off
1.7 Location services = all off2. Install AdFree or use AdFree host - advertisment spend a lot of battery
3. Delete all programs that you do not need. For me this is:
Calendar
Calendar storage
Google backup transport
Google partner setup
LGSetupWizard
Maps
QuickMemo
Remote support service
Setup Wizard
SmartShare
Software update
Street View
Bubbles
Email
Live Wallpaper Picker
Market Helper
Music Visualization
Music player
News and Weather
SmartWorld
Sound Search for Google play
Talk
World Clock widget
and many many others... i do not remember. look around the forums here - you will find many threads - not only in Optimus 3D.
Remove or freeze first all programs that are visible in your phone but you do not use. Developers use to put a lot of them in the custom Roms4. Unisntall all widgets that you do not use
5. Install custom Kernel with functionalities - use power save Governors - look in the forum the see them. Put the maximum screen Off to be not more than 400MHz. Use Kernel with low power consumption for Wifi.
6. Do not overclock, do not overvolt, do not undervolt - use kernel that have smartreflex implemented.
7. install WakeLock to see which programs lock your phone in On state
8. Use battery monitor to see which programs use most power on live an sleep state
and many other tricks that i do not remember at the moment

Nice App! Is it possible to change the color according to the status searching for sats = yellow / fix = green?
Hi,
Installed on my DHD with CM7 and it works perfectly. I really like the little notification telling you that service is actually switched on and off when you open and close apps, does this show that my GPS unit is actively seeking sats or just your service? I need to have a test on the open road as i am sat in the office at the moment and can only see 1 sat. I'll have a look and see if i am getting much drain.
Personally, my suggestion would be to have a option to have a timeout on the notification icon and keep the info in the drag down drawer as it is at the moment. I don't really need to know that GPS is active but i often find myself wondering if i have a good fix when Maps has me driving in the sea.
On Garmin-Asus A50 it works ok, exept u get a notice "GPS position changed" wich notice will not go away.
number of fixed sats instead of sats i can see
Hi,
I think that number of fixed Sats gives better information than number of sats i can see. I am currently using GPS Status program to see how many sats are fixed when i am using GPS program without feature that can show fixed sats. Your program with notification in the bar will be definitively better alternative.
Nice little program OP, can't see the PRO version in the Market though
I just installed the app and so far it's working ok... I like knowing how many satellites are locked in.. I believe this is an app that has been needed for some time.. I'll be interested to see how much battery it uses.. I'll be looking forward to more updates..
Edit: my phone info.. Droid X running Liberty v .8
Hi,
nice app. Thanks.
But logo in taskbar ist hard to read (grey/green). Not enough contrast.
Maybee you can change logo for better readability.

The application is supposed to be passive, the notification icon won't be visible unless the GPS is in use actively by an application (eg. Google Maps)

Tips & Tricks for a better battery-life

Hello O3D Users,
I just have switched from my Xperia neo to the O3D, but before buying it I have checked this Forum.
I have noticed that most of the people here keep complaining about the battery life of the O3D. I have been heavily using my mobile phone now and the battery life isn't that bad at all!! So i started this thread to gather tweaks to extend our battery life.
1.Root
First of all you will need to get root to be able to make changes to your O3D (see Link below)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1518771&highlight=root+lg+optimus+3d
2.CWM
-After getting root i would suggest to flash a custom rom, since most of these are heavily optimized and tweaked.
for that you will need CWM (see link below)
3. Custom rom
Choose and flash a custom rom/kernel, dont forget to backup your phone before
-http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1076
-after flashing a lot of custom roms, you should reset your battery-stats. Charge your phone to 100% -> reboot into recovery -> advanced -> wipe battery stats -> recharge your phone to 100 again.
4. Optimize your phone!!
-Install Linksd ( https://play.google.com/store/search?q=Linksd ) and freeze/deinstall apps you dont need (A lot of preinstalled apps keeps running in background). Just check in system -> running apps which apps you dont need but keeps running in background and freeze them.
-Install easy batter saver ( https://play.google.com/store/search?q=easy+battery+saver ) and check in the menu "consumption" which app is draining a lot of battery% and try to replace it with a similiar app or get rid of it
-(Maybe we can start a bloatware list here but i will need your help for that)
5.
Underclock/Ram-management/Govenor
-Its always usefull to underclock your phone, because this will save your a lot of battery: I have my phone underclocked to 800Mhz normal use and 300Mhz while screen is off.
-If you are using a custom rom you dont need to take care of Ram-management, if not and you have installed a Ram-management app you should NOT use presets like very aggressive or aggressive. (They cause more app reboots -> more battery usage)
-Choose the Hotplug Govenor. It is the govenor from Lg and our phone run the smoothest with it (also most custom roms have tweaked this govenor).
6.
Sysctl tweaks, Vm heap size and Kernel tweaks:
-Install System Tuner ( https://play.google.com/store/search?q=System+tuner ) go to SysCtl -> recommended
-Install Rom Toolbox lite ( https://play.google.com/store/search?q=rom+toolbox+lite )go to Performance -> build.prob tweaks -> increase Vm heap save and reboot. Repeat this process up to Vm heapsize 124
-With System Tuner go to CPU-> Boot Settings ->Govenors behaviour -> and if your are using an Ondemand governor set Power-save bias to a value like 30-40.
7.
Other useful informations/tools
-Widgets: They are very useful for many apps, but widgets keep running in background. So if you don`'t really need them, replace them with an app-shortcut.
If you are using a Widget check if there is an Refresh-Intervall (Weather widgets) and set the intervall to a higher number
-Install easy battery saver. Its a great app, it calculates remaing battery capacity, shedules your data-traffic and monitos also battery usage of different apps.
-keep your Screen-Brightness in the lower end.
- turn wifi/gps/bluetooth off when you are not using it.
-2G network consumes less battery then 3g and data connection consumes less then wifi.
-don´t install apps you dont need/use or try to install an app that can do various things (For example Rom Toolbox can block ads, underclock your phone and manage your ram or easy battery saver)
-Live-wallpaper looks nice but consumes more battery and (i think) that a dark background consumes less battery then a bright/colorful one
-get a micro-sd card with higher class (like class 10)
I hope we can gather more tweaks here and create a Bloatware list.
Credits go to the developers, which do a rly great job!
Sorry for my bad english, but its not my native language.
-----I recommend you to install Titatium backup and before removing any app to make a backup of all app-----
Bloatware list: (First freeze the app(s) and try if the rom is still full functional, if yes you might delete it)

Not sure, if I understood your questions ... but yes, you can add the network mode activity, like any other activity, to this tile.
BUT the network mode is a tricky one ... the network mode activity uses some heavy workarounds and standard Android, manufacturers and even roms (looking at you cm/lineage) mess around with this feature .... sometimes adding a 3 seconds wait activity between the network mode activity and another activity will solve issues, sometimes it does not ... If it does not work for you, send me a message with details (device, rom, root methode, quicktile activities and a log file) and I will have a look ... but don´t expect a fix.... some things are not fixable

you are welcome. thanks for the feedback!
Hi all,
QuickTile has more than 50 different activities, some easy to understand (like the standard device settings activities), some more unique, complex and powerful. A lot of users ask me which activities to use and how to handle complex setups, so I decided to introduce some use cases. A lot of these activities are unique (no other app will provide something similar), so I will focus on these activities. In each post I will introduce 2-4 features/ activities ... so let´s start with:
# Text-to-Speech:
QuickTile has a powerful Text-to-Speech engine. Currently 3 different activities are supported:
- Text-to-Speech: Let QuickTile Speak any text you want ... you can combine this with any other activity to give you some audio feedback, for example combine the text "WiFi ON" with the WiFi ON activity ... or you can use it for fun and let your device say "good morning ascsa" or something completely different.
- Speak time: Tells you the time
- Say Date: Tells you the date
# External Plugin:
This unique feature let you use standard automation plugins with QuickTile. What does that mean: You can use a wide range of automation plugins (the same you could use with e.g. Tasker) to fire automation task activities ... for example you could fire "Secure Settings Plugin" activities with QuickTile or use "Pushbullet" to send notifications to other devices or you can fire "Greenify" tasks. All you have to do is install the Plugin App and choose your activity via the "External Plugin" Group.
# HttpGet and HttpPost
You can use QuickTile to send HttpGet and HttpPost request ... Very cool and powerful feature, you can do all kinds of cool stuff with this...
Some users control their Smarthomes via QuickTile ... You can for example switch on your smart Hue lights with just a Tile in your quick settings. Pretty cool isn´t it?
QuickTile has a lot of other cool and unique features and if you enjoy this post, just let me know and I will present some other cool features in similar posts. ...
QuickTile unique and cool features Part 2:
Received a lot of positive feedback for the previous "QuickTile cool features" postet, so let´s have a look at some other cool activities and features in QuickTile:
# Music Player (Start/Launch)
You can fire up your music player and start playing music (play/pause parameter recommended)....
Yep, doesn´t sound much, BUT you can combine this activity with other activities and features and create your own customized "play music profile" ... e.g. add the "Set Music vol" activity and bring your media volume to 100 % and also add the "Ringer" activity (both -> Device settings) with the "Do NOT Disturb" parameter to enjoy your music ....AND you can add an additional cycle to stop the music, bring back your music volume to e.g. 34 % and bring your Ringer mode back to normal ...cool :good:
Cycle 1:
- Music Player : Play
- Set Music Volume: 100
- Ringer: Do not Disturb
Cycle 2:
- Music Player : Stop
- Set Music Volume: 34
- Ringer: Normal
Remember to choose a Pause icon (II) for cycle 1 and a Play icon (>) for cycle 2 and matching labels, because QuickTile will always show you the icon + label for the next cycle ... You can also add more activities like bluetooth on/off or Navigation to this Tile
#Navigation (Start/Launch)
Start a Navigation ... Just enter your desired address as parameter and you are good to go ... or keep the address empty to just open your navigation app
You can also combine this activity with other activities start a custom car mode (e.g. WiFi off, Bluetooth on, Music Player Play etc.)
or you can try out the Android Car Mode (depends on your rom / device)
#Car Mode (Start/Launch)
Start the android car mode ... I would recommend to install Android Auto and you should be good to go
Should be enough for part 2 of this "QuickTile cool features and activities" post ....
Feedback always welcome
Update 1.10.1
Update 1.10.1 is out in the wild --> Google Play
Contains a new Set Orientation Activity. You could now fix your display orientation to Portrait, Landscape, Reverse Portrait or Reverse Landscape :good:
Update 1.10.+
* Set Orientation activity
* Bugfixes

Screen off time: Have you tried the Display timeout activity ? just add a parameter (ASAP depends on device/ firmware, but all others should work on all devices :fingers-crossed
volte: VoLTE has no native Activity ... not sure if it´s possible via shell or root shell command (I do not use it and can not test it) ... Anyone with feedback regarding volte ?
For VoLTE switch I found the correct option, see my attached pic....
For screen off time I looking for the right set up if I have more time ^^
