Nice app, nice to be able to see how many sattelites I'm connected to right in the status bar, beats having to open a seperate app to check

Working on HD2 with TyphooN_CM7_v3.3.7.

I tested with google Maps but no GPS activation.
Maps keeps asking to activate GPS in settings... So I did...

The service itself is activating...but the service doesn't aktivate GPS.

Nice App! Is it possible to change the color according to the status searching for sats = yellow / fix = green?

Hi,
Installed on my DHD with CM7 and it works perfectly. I really like the little notification telling you that service is actually switched on and off when you open and close apps, does this show that my GPS unit is actively seeking sats or just your service? I need to have a test on the open road as i am sat in the office at the moment and can only see 1 sat. I'll have a look and see if i am getting much drain.
Personally, my suggestion would be to have a option to have a timeout on the notification icon and keep the info in the drag down drawer as it is at the moment. I don't really need to know that GPS is active but i often find myself wondering if i have a good fix when Maps has me driving in the sea.

On Garmin-Asus A50 it works ok, exept u get a notice "GPS position changed" wich notice will not go away.

number of fixed sats instead of sats i can see
Hi,
I think that number of fixed Sats gives better information than number of sats i can see. I am currently using GPS Status program to see how many sats are fixed when i am using GPS program without feature that can show fixed sats. Your program with notification in the bar will be definitively better alternative.

Nice little program OP, can't see the PRO version in the Market though

I just installed the app and so far it's working ok... I like knowing how many satellites are locked in.. I believe this is an app that has been needed for some time.. I'll be interested to see how much battery it uses.. I'll be looking forward to more updates..
Edit: my phone info.. Droid X running Liberty v .8

Hi,
nice app. Thanks.
But logo in taskbar ist hard to read (grey/green). Not enough contrast.
Maybee you can change logo for better readability.
Thanks schrej

Please add a 1x1 widget that allows me to clear GPS data and redownload with a single tap. I'd tap it before entering Maps so that I can have some super fast precise location results.

The application is supposed to be passive, the notification icon won't be visible unless the GPS is in use actively by an application (eg. Google Maps)

Would anyone know why after using this app successfully for the past 2 weeks on my rhodium htc tp2 phone, that all of the sudden now I'm getting a WebException error?
EDIT: I found the answer in another thread. Apparently the weather site is down and they're working to resolve the problem. I guess I'll have to wait for it to come back up.

What data are those based on? There's no speed data available in Google Maps so you do need some source to determine the allowed speed, what is that source?
Currently, it is the simple user-defined threshold system that is also used by some HUD-style applications, but I'm trying to implement something smarter for later releases .
hm, too bad, makes it pretty much useless
We will see what I'll figure out - having database of speeds is impossible with my budget, but I have some ideas how to make it better. But I personally use the threshold system, and it is actually not bad and it saved me from some unmeant speeding situations. And do not forget, that car's speedometer shows about 5% lower speeds compared to reality, so you know by sound when you reached the actual speed.
where i live there's no general speed limit but limits are different all the time (30,50,60,70,80,90,100,110,120,130) so manual tresholds just won't do it :-(
Oh, I see :-(
Just a small update today. The speed alerts will be improved later.
Changelog
0.2:
- Market license support
Like the app, just what I need. After minor update the app freezes however.
In what situation?
No exception. The first version worked flawlessly. This version gets stuck as soon as you open it.
Is there a way to revert to the first version? That one worked.
HTC Incredible S. Standard OS Android 2.3.5
Oh, I see it. Will resolve it ASAP.
Got a solution! I will implement one little feature and publish the update later today. Thanks for reporting!
Hey OP...
Quick question...I purchased the app in the market and on my phone i opened the beta app and registered it, now my question is why does the app in my app drawer still say beta? Did I not register correctly? Please help
The app is still in beta stage, but your purchase authorized you to use the Pro features. As it makes it to final version, you will get all the new features with no extra charge .
The update is here!
Changelog
0.3:
- Fixed performance issues
- Option to hide notification icon
App works again, performance issue fixed. Thank you for the swift response.
Found this app on the market and I have a question about the pro version. The main feature I like about pro is only showing the overlay when navigation is running. The only major problem is that it keeps the GPS active even if navigation isn't being used.
Are there any future plans for implementing a feature that will auto start this app when the navigation app is opened, along with closing it when navigation ends? This will prevent from having to manually open and close an additional app each time.

This is not easy to handle since Android does not tell you when app has been started. Only way I can think of is some service, but it might cause serious battery drain. But I can turn off the GPS if not visible. It might help.
I'd imagine, if it's possible it would only be for root users. I'm not a dev, just brainstorming really. The overlay looks great and it's 2nd to none right now.

[App][12.11.2012][V2.3.2 Release] AmberHome Weather

AmberHome Weather is a weather app that will show weather forecast data from the yr.no weather feed.
Release version now available in PlayStoreAmberHome Weather Free
Pro Version: AmberHome Weather Plus
Additional Iconsets: AmberHome Weather IconSets
I would be glad if you can test this app and tell me how you like it.
If you want to help to translate the app please register at GetLocalization.com and then go to this URL: AHWeather at GetLocalization
Translating the app should be very easy with this great community web tool. Thanks for your help.
If you like you can visit the AmberHome blog where I will add some news from time to time and follow me on Google+ if you like.
Unlike other weather apps AHWeather does not depend on cities. Every location in the world can be used, just search for it. The location search is the standard Android geolocation search and it is very powerful. You can edit some data for a location like name and country name. Additionally there is a field for the altitude of the location. Normally you can leave this to 0 which means the weather site will choose the altitude itself. Maybe this field will be removed for the release version since for most cases it is not needed.
About the weather data:
The weather data comes from yr.no, delivered by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute and the NRK. Yr.no is one of the last weather sites that provide weather data for free even for commercial use. Unlike some other weather feeds yr.no only has forecast data and no current condition! This means that everywhere in the app where current conditions are displayed (like in the widget) this is calculated from forecast data and may be several hours old. Most time this is not as accurate as in other apps which request weather data from nearby weather stations.
The weather forecast is very accurate in Europe but I have no idea how good it is in other regions of the world. Some tests I have made like requesting weather data in israel etc. looks quite good. Please tell me how accurate the weather forecast is in your region.
In some locations (mainly northern europe) there is hourly forcast data for the next 48 hours. In all other regions of the world there is 3 hour forecast instead.
Planned features for later versions:
tablet layouts
more widgets
weather chart
location based weather
...
Known bugs:
If you permanently rotate the screen, after some time (about 25 rotations on my device) the app will FC with an out of memory error. I think this is a general Android problem and can't be fixed easily.
On some devices if you rotate your home screen, the widget will not update immediately. This is because I hit a Android widget limitation with bitmaps. I hope to fix this in the next release.

Great start, but the layout seem quite of somehow. I doesn't like the background color and I would like to have it more simple a less cluttered. Like the choice of weather service, the Norwegians knows the weather in Sweden better than we do our self .

Normally it should work. Try to search for "<cityname> usa" or something. It should even find small villages with a few houses.
Location based weather is planned for a later release.
I live in the Boonies and it finds me just fine. My town doesn't have stop lights.
The barometer could be in inches though. That's the only gripe I have.

I think this one is close to a release candidate.
Thank you all for testing.
Great app, thank you. Will test it.
Very good app! running fine on CM9
Added 2.0 Beta5 to first post.
This version has a complete redesign of the widget. It is still not perfect but should scale better on different resolutions and should work better on ICS and up.
Couple feature suggestion
1. Re-sizable widget for touchwiz (or 5x1 widget )
2. Transparent widget
Works pretty fast on galaxy note,
1st version released to play store
The first version is now released to play store.
Additionally I added the release version to the first post.
Thanks to all testers and stay tuned. If new beta versions are available I will post them here.
Very nice. Only suggestion I have is to offer different weather icons.
Net me try the apps

Hi, so I've been playing around a lot with your app. First, I love it, it's great!
I tried sending feedback via the app, and the email returned, as unable to be sent to that address.
I would like to see 3 things, if possible:
1, being able to select a certain time frame on a calendar day.
2, exportable data, even just exportable to CSV or a spreadsheet... Something simple, or if possible with the maps engine api, the kml data...don't know which is more complicated....
3, quick screenshot capability...
I believe these 3 improvements would make your app stand out among the current ones and any future apps.
Thanks for your time and consideration

Great app, some improvement suggestions
I just found this app, tried it out and liked it very much. There are a few things I would like to suggest that can be improved. Some of them are very minor, others will be more work, I guess.
UI
- I would love to see a German version, and I am willing to contribute the German translation. If you want implement this, maybe you want to put it on one of the community translation services on the 'net. If you prefer, I can also just send an email.
- Also, the German text in Play Store definitely needs to be changed. Let me know if you want me to re-word it.
- The format in the title bar does not follow the local OS settings for date format. I see 15-02-2015 where (in Germany) I would expect "15.2.2015" or "15. Feb. 2015".
- same in the "Log" page.
- Also, the "14-01-2015 was registered 529 places." is not correct English. I am not a native speaker either, so I can only make a suggestion. How about "14-01-2015: 529 places recorded"
- When I tap on a red dot, the date has an extra "y.", for example "14 Januar 2015 y., 12:34:13." Also, there should be a dot after the day (i.e, "14.").
- the three dots usually open an app's menu. Here, they open a selector for the map style only, and the app menu is part of the left slide-out. So the three dots should be replaced with an icon that indicates this is *not* the app menu.
- when the grey "timeline" window is open, I slide the marker through the timeline, and that works nicely. However, when I start sliding from the far left, I open the date picker instead. I think the date picker should open only if I slide in the main map window, not when I slide in the time line window.
Features:
- the "Start day of week" should be used from the system settings. I do not think there is a need to make it configurable in the app.
- biggest request, I guess: make it possible to see more than one day. Maybe in the date picket, add a way to select a duration?
- it would also be great if it was possible to "zoom in" in the timeline window (by pinch-to-zoom), so it'd be possible to get the time more precisely. That would, of course, require a way to scroll that window horizontally, which collides with sliding through the timeline as it is implemented now. Maybe scrolling could be automatic when the timelien cursor goes near either edge of the screen?
- also, it would be nice to be able to close the timeline by just fling it down.
As you can see, except for the multi-day feature, all my comments are for rather minor issues, which means that in my opinion the app is already very good!
Cheers
Daniel

Not sure, if I understood your questions ... but yes, you can add the network mode activity, like any other activity, to this tile.
BUT the network mode is a tricky one ... the network mode activity uses some heavy workarounds and standard Android, manufacturers and even roms (looking at you cm/lineage) mess around with this feature .... sometimes adding a 3 seconds wait activity between the network mode activity and another activity will solve issues, sometimes it does not ... If it does not work for you, send me a message with details (device, rom, root methode, quicktile activities and a log file) and I will have a look ... but don´t expect a fix.... some things are not fixable

you are welcome. thanks for the feedback!
Hi all,
QuickTile has more than 50 different activities, some easy to understand (like the standard device settings activities), some more unique, complex and powerful. A lot of users ask me which activities to use and how to handle complex setups, so I decided to introduce some use cases. A lot of these activities are unique (no other app will provide something similar), so I will focus on these activities. In each post I will introduce 2-4 features/ activities ... so let´s start with:
# Text-to-Speech:
QuickTile has a powerful Text-to-Speech engine. Currently 3 different activities are supported:
- Text-to-Speech: Let QuickTile Speak any text you want ... you can combine this with any other activity to give you some audio feedback, for example combine the text "WiFi ON" with the WiFi ON activity ... or you can use it for fun and let your device say "good morning ascsa" or something completely different.
- Speak time: Tells you the time
- Say Date: Tells you the date
# External Plugin:
This unique feature let you use standard automation plugins with QuickTile. What does that mean: You can use a wide range of automation plugins (the same you could use with e.g. Tasker) to fire automation task activities ... for example you could fire "Secure Settings Plugin" activities with QuickTile or use "Pushbullet" to send notifications to other devices or you can fire "Greenify" tasks. All you have to do is install the Plugin App and choose your activity via the "External Plugin" Group.
# HttpGet and HttpPost
You can use QuickTile to send HttpGet and HttpPost request ... Very cool and powerful feature, you can do all kinds of cool stuff with this...
Some users control their Smarthomes via QuickTile ... You can for example switch on your smart Hue lights with just a Tile in your quick settings. Pretty cool isn´t it?
QuickTile has a lot of other cool and unique features and if you enjoy this post, just let me know and I will present some other cool features in similar posts. ...
QuickTile unique and cool features Part 2:
Received a lot of positive feedback for the previous "QuickTile cool features" postet, so let´s have a look at some other cool activities and features in QuickTile:
# Music Player (Start/Launch)
You can fire up your music player and start playing music (play/pause parameter recommended)....
Yep, doesn´t sound much, BUT you can combine this activity with other activities and features and create your own customized "play music profile" ... e.g. add the "Set Music vol" activity and bring your media volume to 100 % and also add the "Ringer" activity (both -> Device settings) with the "Do NOT Disturb" parameter to enjoy your music ....AND you can add an additional cycle to stop the music, bring back your music volume to e.g. 34 % and bring your Ringer mode back to normal ...cool :good:
Cycle 1:
- Music Player : Play
- Set Music Volume: 100
- Ringer: Do not Disturb
Cycle 2:
- Music Player : Stop
- Set Music Volume: 34
- Ringer: Normal
Remember to choose a Pause icon (II) for cycle 1 and a Play icon (>) for cycle 2 and matching labels, because QuickTile will always show you the icon + label for the next cycle ... You can also add more activities like bluetooth on/off or Navigation to this Tile
#Navigation (Start/Launch)
Start a Navigation ... Just enter your desired address as parameter and you are good to go ... or keep the address empty to just open your navigation app
You can also combine this activity with other activities start a custom car mode (e.g. WiFi off, Bluetooth on, Music Player Play etc.)
or you can try out the Android Car Mode (depends on your rom / device)
#Car Mode (Start/Launch)
Start the android car mode ... I would recommend to install Android Auto and you should be good to go
Should be enough for part 2 of this "QuickTile cool features and activities" post ....
Feedback always welcome
Update 1.10.1
Update 1.10.1 is out in the wild --> Google Play
Contains a new Set Orientation Activity. You could now fix your display orientation to Portrait, Landscape, Reverse Portrait or Reverse Landscape :good:
Update 1.10.+
* Set Orientation activity
* Bugfixes

Screen off time: Have you tried the Display timeout activity ? just add a parameter (ASAP depends on device/ firmware, but all others should work on all devices :fingers-crossed
volte: VoLTE has no native Activity ... not sure if it´s possible via shell or root shell command (I do not use it and can not test it) ... Anyone with feedback regarding volte ?
For VoLTE switch I found the correct option, see my attached pic....
For screen off time I looking for the right set up if I have more time ^^
