HI,
Is there a way to really lock the phone from dialing last number? I mean,if I forgot to lock the phone and put the phone in my pocket. It dials my last number. Is there a way to prevent that besides remembering to lock the phone first.
Also, if its locked in my pocket, can the screen or buttons have a slighter delay from coming on to slide and unlock. I am trying to keep a longer battery life
Lastly, when I am on a call, and I press OK on the call and end up on the main menu while putting the phone back to my face, my face seems like it clicking on stuff. Is there a cab or tool to fix that so when you put the phone back to your face it does not start to engaged stuff.
Thanks

hi, is my question not valid? or am i not explaining it correctly?
1. I think it's easier to just remembering press the "hang up red button" before you put it in your pocket. It is that simple which you do not need an app for that.
2. By doing that will probably not save you much battery power imo.
3. There is a distance detector built-in right next to the battery charging indicator. Your screen is supposed to lock when you picked up a call and put the phone close to your face.
You can do a simple test just to cover the sensor or detector while you are on the phone with others. If your screen does not lock and goes completely blank, there is probably a problem with the sensor.
Hope these help.

Thank you ! I understand
Trying to get my sons unit to work, first thing was the screen was unresponsive, I read to try a factory reset, seeing as the touch would work, I tried the volume/power button. After many attempts I finally got that to work.
navigated around with the volume button and selected reset. Now I am stick in the select Language which I can do but cannot continue as the next button is unresponsive.
I am think of trying to get a new screen etc .. would it just be the glass or both screen and glass . (if someone could clarify which and what to order)
sorry if I am totally stupid android etc is new... been a windows man for many years
Open it up and see if any cables have come loose, they are renowned for pulling out the display cable if they are dropped, possible it could affect touch too
The display cable is wrapped around the battery, which shifts when dropped, and pulls the cable out
sounds like a good idea, as I got him to own up to having dropped it and the back un snapped. will check that out tomorrow. thanks
I found one flat cable with the lock clip up, tried again got a lot of the touch working, just the bottom 3 back-home etc that will not respond. wonder if I have missed something like another cable or something.
I'd hazard a guess that it would be that one cable, maybe not fully making contact with the port it was pulled out of, I'd try fiddling with it more, see if it changes the places touch isn't working
Also check that the cable isn't damaged, they are pretty thin, possible it has ripped inside the shielding
Sounds like you're on the right track though
Check that it is not just those three navigation buttons not working, such as the whole bottom 1cm of the screen - rotate the screen, see if the touch points are dead in the same places
And I'm not 100% about this, but check if the screen end of that cable is removable too
thanks my friend, yea I rotated the screen several times and those three will not work. I did have a funny effect before I did another reset. I would try and press the reset in settings and the wi-fi settings would open. lolol after playing around I finally got it to work. I will keep fiddling.
2nd eldest daughter handed me her ipod with a lovely pattern of cracked glass.. so ipod added to my list.
Oh the joys of kids and expensive tech!
If the buttons won't work in any orientation, it sounds more like a ROM issue for that problem, if it was touch, the same part of the screen wouldn't work in any orientation, meaning the navigation buttons should work in either portrait or landscape, whichever is the opposite of the non working orientation
Good luck
Hi,
my name is Frank and this sad post will be my first post on XDA...
My phone fell off my pocket when i was crossing a road, when i noticed it wasnt on my pockets i went back my steps and saw my phone on the middle of the road but sadly some car passed and my phone got smashed. Now i have my Oneplus One with the screen broken on 100000 pieces. The LCD connector/wire at the top right is broken, i only have half screen left , the rest fell off.
Ok, clearly im not going to repair it. But i have some important pictures that i want to recover, for example photos of my last trip to China and some PDF document.
By now, the phone is turned on, the notification led is flashing, windows 10 recognizes it like "One", Volume UP/Down button is broken, not the button itself, i mean the wires inside, i know it because ive opened the device to take a look. It had a 4 pin code to unlock.
Debugg Mode is OFF, Official Stock Rom (the version is the first one, lets call it "vanilla" i bought the phone on the first days and i never updated)
I used some "handsome" software found in google to recover the data, many of them do not find the phone, others ask for debug mode on.
ADB devices command from SDKPlatforms Tools do not detect any device.
What can i do? Help me please. Sorry for my grammar, but english isn't my mother language
Hello
My phone accidentally got dropped in water today (for less than 1 minute).
I took the back cover off and removed the battery and SIM card. I wiped everything with a dry cloth.
I put everything back together and the phone did turn up. Touchscreen display is working but unfortunately screen is not responding to touch.
I took a friend's phone and called my number. I could see caller ID on the screen and three buttons - for accept, reject and message - however touching them does not work.
I sent myself a message on WhatsApp and I did get a notification on my phone (lock screen) that a message has come - thus WiFi is also working
I connected the phone to charger and I could see the battery icon on top-right turned green, indicating that the phone is charging.
I can however see a headset/headphone icon on top-right as well, even though no headphone is connected - although I am not concerned about this as I don't use headphone at all.
My issue is that touchscreen display is not responding to my touch, which makes the phone unusable. Note that the display is there and the clock is updating the time.
Is there anything that can be done please?
When I first restarted the phone after wiping off the wet parts,
I received a screen with following buttons.:
Chinese
PCBA Test
MMI Test
MMI2 Test
Hardware Info
fastboot
recovery
download
Power Off
PCBA test: FAIL
MMI test: FAIL
MMI2 test: FAIL
Finish(==VolUP+Power In==)
However, after a few restarts, this above screen went away and I was getting a normal lock screen (which I could not unlock because the screen is not responding to my touch)
Also when I press the power button to shut down, I get 4 icons (as usual for shut-down, flight mode, restart etc). But I cant interact with them. I have to remove back-cover and take battery off to shutdown the mobile phone.
So, seems like it is the responsiveness of the touchscreen, which is dead.

Taking out the battery was the right thing to do. But you should have left it out for longer. Put the phone into a bag of rice or silicon desiccant and leave it for a while to ensure all the moisture has been removed. Its highly likely that your phone is still wet internally which will definitely screw around with the touchscreen. Right now you should just hope that your touchscreen controller hasn't been shorted out permanently, which can happen when moisture gets in.
My z-flip3 5g has a strange problem. If i close it (by folding the screen closed), then after opening (unfolding) the screen and touching the right side button/fingerprint reader to unlock it, i hear the quiet "click" noise that indicates the phone is unlocked, but the screen stays black. i then have to repeatedly push the lock button on the right to lock the phone again and unlock it again. after several attempts the screen finally turns on. sometimes it will go black a few seconds later and the same issue continues. but other times the screen will stay on and work fine.
i have noticed that if i do not close the phone (folding the screen together) then i do NOT encounter this issue. the phone screen turns on when pushing the right side button (or touching the fingerprint sensor) and everything works fine.
this issue started yesterday, a system update installed yesterday as well, could it be related?
i already restarted many times, booted into recovery mode and wiped the cache. nothing has helped. the only way to avoid the problem is by not closing (folding the screen shut) the phone.
One UI v 5.1
Android 13
Security patch level Feb 1, 2023
fully stock/not rooted
I have same behavior. Did you solve this problem?
Unfortunately no. Did a factory reset, hoping that would help, but the issue persists
Mine has recently started doing the same. Last update was right before this started several weeks ago. I don't have mine set to require fingerprint, it should just turn on after opening. If I open it partway, it will turn on, then turn back off when fully opened.
hi,
i have same problem, it's software problem?
Not completely sure about that. They update this thing so often, it could be coincedence that it started shortly after an update. I want to try blowing out the hinges as I've got some dust under there that I hear when opening the phone. Definitely not a phone to put in your pocket after working in the wood shop!

and donĀ“t take it to the beach either!
What is also strange is that when I close the phone and open it a few seconds later, there is no issues whatsoever. However, if I leave it closed a few minutes, then when opening it, the problems with the screen staying off happen.
Yes, definitely don't take it to the beach!
@netridah , mine is doing exactly that. Which makes me wonder is it a wake issue, or a mechanical/sensor issue with the hinge.
one more to the bill
I checked the flexes and I warmed up the logic nothing works
I have the same issue: Flip 3 - 5G with OneUI 5.1 - 1 April Patch level
When I open the phone I eventually see for less than one second the lock screen, the goes black and unresponsive.
Then I have to press the button to turn the screen off (even if it is already) and then re-press the button or use the fingerprint to turn it on and it will work (eventually, sometime I have to do it a couple of times).
I already googled it on many forums but no solutions, I've tried to:
Disable the always-on display - no result, at first looked like it did the trick but the day after was having the same issue.
Check all the updates of the system components like always on-on display (settings --> lock screen --> always on display --> info), no help everything is up to date.
Hi,
I have the exact same problem, only difference is that I'm on the z flip 4.
I get the black screen and sometimes when opening or closing the phone the screen can flash in a bright yellow or green color.
I got a motherboard but the problem continued
Next step changing screen is very expensive at the moment
This is driving me crazy - also started the day I updated to OneUI 5.1.
Hoping for a solution soon!
I am also encountering this problem, I went to samsung repair shop 1 month out of warranty, sales person said it is a screen issue and needs to be replaced for 430$. Mine was before the update, i took mine near the pool, got wet maybe, as the alarm for usb charging mentioned unplug it immediately, day after it began randomly dark when phone is openned fully. Zflip 3
Oh just an update, i did some tinkering today, Good lock all updated, disabled clockface, sprayed some contact cleaner on power button, and hinges, fold close and open for a minute or two, fell asleep for 1 hour, and when I woke up, my screen works back to normal, it wakes up when unfolded, no more waiting or hitting the power button several times. hope this stays like this.

Hi, few days now, I still have occasional blacking out, I've tried putting my phone on safe mode, and this seems to solve the problem. I suspect it may not be hardware fault, but 3rd party software, "good lock" or something else that conflicts wit one ui, that makes the flipping open lag waking up. Contact cleaner used for electrical stuff
Didnt use my z3 for about a week let the battery drain.. then charged it too 100% without turning on the phone.. my phone back to normal now.. hope it works for you guys
Hello,
I am using Z Flip 4 and last night I started having this problem as well. I can confirm 100% that my phone has no hardware nor a history of impact of any sort that's why it's really frustrating having this kind of problem.
Has anyone already found a resolution for this problem?
Z flip 4 here also. Had the same problem with the screen. Took the phone to Samsung and they changed the screen, frame and back panel's for free under warranty.
They said it's a hardware issue.
So better to take the phone to Samsung.
