downlaod this app and dont run it this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu
reboot to recorvery and go to advance and fix Permissions ,
reboot and run the app and try to update the app and let me know what you facing

Install SU app from play store (same as mentioned above). Then go to SU app settings - access option - & change it to 'grant' instead of 'prompt'.
Good luck!

Help... CyanogenMod 10 Jellybean 4.1.2

Hi everyone, I tried the rom on this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1782009 and so far everything is great, I installed GAPPS... I think... I'm kind of a noob :/
Anyway everytime I open the Play Store it just closes in a nano second! And when I open the internet browser or other apps like that it says [Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped]
I used the HTC Sensation 4G AIO kit by Hasoon 2000 v2.0 for everything.
Can anyone please help me
you haven't done full wipe ..before flashing the ROM i think
go to recovery ...and do full wipe
if CWM recovery -> wipe->factory reset + wipe cache + wipe dalvik
if 4EXT recovery ->wipe/format->format everything except sdcard
then flash the ROm and then gaaps
that will do
btw when you do full wipe ..you lose all data of the phone ..apps/messages/call logs etc etc

[Q][ANSWERED] Gaining root access... Fail!

Hi. I have searched the forums and have yet to find an answer to my question. I tried following this tutorial (CWM 6.0.2.3 / 5.5.0.4 Official CWM Recovery for JB/ICS + ROOT) to root my TF300. It's gone pretty well, except it doesn't actually give me root access. I'm not really sure what's going wrong. I unlocked and installed CWM (recovery-jb.img) fairly easily. I flashed root-signed.zip and it says everything's ok until I try rebooting, whereupon it gives me the following error:
"root access possibly lost. fix?"
I tried both yes and no, but after each time, I try a root checker, and try updating su over and over again, but no dice. Am I doing anything wrong?
Thanks

First off try using TWRP instead of CWM. Not only are people having issues rooting using CWM, some are also having trouble making backups. TWRP is definitely the way to go. Its more dependable and the UI (user interface) is much better.
As for rooting, why not just install a stock based custom ROM that's already rooted?

Giving it a try. Fastbooting TWRP 2.3 (www(.)teamw(.)in/project/twrp2/97) as we speak. Im fairly new to rooting and just started researching it yesterday. Most tutorials show CWM so I used it. Love the TWRP UI in the screenshots. Never knew there were more options.
And another question; will installing a stock rooted ROM whipe my data?

Yes, you will want to do a factory reset 1st before flashing anything. You do not want any data that may have gotten left over to be on the new ROM. I also recommend wiping the cache and Dalvik cache too.
All you need to do in order to restore your contacts is to sign in to the market or Gmail.

Excellent! I cannot count the times I've recommended members to switch over to TWRP in that past few days. It really is a better recovery. Many are having issues with CWM. Glad you got it working. :good:
If I were you, I would make a backup with TWRP as soon as you can.
Just remember that if you DO decided to flash a custom ROM, make sure that you do a factory reset, wipe cache, and Dalvik cache. There's a very good chance you'll have problems if you don't. :good:
Aye.

I backed up using TWRP fairly easy as soon as I got most of my rooted setting up and running. Whenever I have a problem, the first thing I do is wipe them both. After some more research, I'll get into some ROMS with backups now that I am able to do some nandroids. Thanks again. :victory:

I think I may have messed up putting a new ROM on my phone

So I'm still extremely new to rooting/ROMS/ODIN etc. Well I finally decided to throw caution to the wind and attempt to root and install Slim Bean on my phone. Honestly I think because most help sites can't keep up to date with all the current ROM updates and what not that I may have messed something up. Also, before anyone rips my head off, I tried to post this question in the developers thread but I'm still to new. Anyways here's what I did:
Downloaded ODIN v1.85, SkyrocketCWMrecovery.tar, Slim Gapps and Slim-i727-3.1.0-OFFICIAL
I first ran ODIN (left all the check boxes alone as they appear when you start up), chose PDA, and chose SkyrocketCWMrecovery.tar to install.
Preformed install and rebooted my phone, everything works fine
Put Slim Gapps and Slim I727-3.1.0 onto my Internal SDCard
Disconnected phone from USB and started CWM (the version CWM is v5.0.2.6)
I wiped data/factory reset and under mounts and storage format/system
Then I installed Slim I727-3.1.0 and Gapps
I rebooted my phone and it starts loading, gets to the slim bean screen and stops
I've also tried Cyanogenmod 9.1 and 10. 9.1 does the same thing Slim bean does and 10 gets an Status 7 error, Installation aborted. I've read so many posts about this but nothing has seemed to fix my issue, at this point I would happily go back to a stock phone (I wish I'd just backed it up when I had the chance, live and learn I guess)
If someone can please help me, I'd really appreciate it.
Why using a Old Reciovery?
Head to ClockworkMod v6.0.2.7 Touch v14.4.6
Download the Latest Touch Recovery File and put it on your Sd Card and flash it Via Recovery.
After that Boot into Recovery
Format system (usually in mounts and storage menu option) X3
Format data X3
wipe data and cache partition X3
After that Flash the Rom.
In case if the Issue still persists revert back to Stock and Try Again..

Ok, I got it to flash to the new version (the website I was using had the download for the old version I was using). However, when I try to wipe data and cache partition it tries to preform the action but it just sits on the screen saying formatting data....
I tried just loading cyanogenmod 10 on there and see if I got lucky, with the new version I can get the zip file to install but when I tried to reboot I get to the cyanogenmod screen and it just sits there..... any ideas?
You have to start learning doing things in the "correct" and "safe" way ..
1.Leave all other websites and stick here for the flashing and roms and what not.
2.Never use ODIN for anything ever (except for flashing stock ROM)
3.An exception also for using ODIN is the bone stock phone , you'll need ODIN to just flash a custom recovery in .tar format (this is usually just done once , even if a new recovery comes out , you update it also from a custom recovery) , once your device has a custom recovery (and a recent one) do everything from there as the custom recovery enables you to do everything from inside the recovery ..
4.Learn from the stickies here on the skyrocket section .

Awesome, my phones back. As for trying again, I'm thinking I may skip that lol. I came from a jailbroken Iphone to trying this on my android but the android is 10x more complicated (read: way more options/routes to go to do the same thing, which is way to confusing for the first timers). Thanks for all your help!

Again, still new, but I don't think I used ODIN for anything other than installing the CWM recovery and even doing that (notably was directed to an older version) the ROMs wouldn't take. Even after upgrading the CWM to most updated version it still failed to get any version of cyan 9-10 or slim bean to work, all of them get to their respective screens and load. I even got tired, went to bed and 7 hours later the phone still wouldn't boot.
As far as I can tell I did everything this website has said to do, unless you can point me to something otherwise? Not to be rude, just trying to figure out where I would have messed up, but I just can't see where I'd have messed up OTHER than running a old version of CWM. But even that was corrected with an update and still I received the same results.

Also, not sure if anyone else is having this issue but when I try to format cache, either using wipe data/cache partition or going under mounts and storage format cache it locks up. Does data just fine but cache is a no go. I'd mention this in the development section but not enough post counts.

Always read the stickies. Always read the stickies. Always read the stickies.
This is a magical mantra, if typed three times it comes true))
If you're having trouble with cwm, try flashing twrp. I find that it is easier to use for the basics.

If your recovery is up to date and its just bootlooping after flashing, reboot into recovery and wipe cache & dalvik cache.

Instructions
Quote:
- To avoid any problems, I suggest you flash coming from Stock ICS or Stock JB...Coming from ICS is easier though ( .31 FW)
- Root your phone and install a recovery ( ICS RECOVERY IN 3RD POST )
NOTE: ICS REVOERY IS DIFFERENT FROM JB RECOVERY ( JB CWM here: Click Here! ) ( Use that if COMING FROM JB otherwise use the ICS recovery )
- Copy the ROM to your SD Card ( External )
- Boot into CWM ( volume down/up button like up-down-up-down )
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset then Wipe Cache Partition
- Navigate to advanced and Wipe Dalvik Cache
- Format /system ( ONLY SYSTEM )( V4 and V5 only ) ( no need for V4.1 and Below )
- Install/flash the ROM and install/flash the Rootfix.zip
- Navigate to Advanced and Fix Permissions
- Flash the .31 Kernel provided in downloads
- IF COMING FROM ICS ONLY DO NOT POWER OFF YET !!!!
- Remove Battery then put it back again
- Flash the .31 Kernel ( download in links ) using flashtool ( UNTICK FINAL DATA VERIFICATION )
- Done and Enjoy the ROM
step no 7 Navigate to Advanced and Fix Permission ....after this what should i do? go to reboot or just pull out battery before flashing (flash the .31 on no 8 step) this where i getting confuse
Try both

hmm....look I have not tried this ,the Normal method is to flash kernel and reboot then install rom
So I would recommend u to try both
After "fix permission" I removed the battery and then used flashtool to flash the. 31 firmware.
It worked fine.

Have you try this:
-First install .31 (JB) stock ROM, then install the recovery
-The open the recovery and Wipe Data/Factory Reset then Wipe Cache Partition
-Next, go to advanced and Wipe Dalvik Cache
- Format /system and then flash the ROM and the rootfix.zip
-Then fix permissions
Hope it worked on you! Good luck :victory: !

and before you complain to me saying "kirin is s***, qcom is better" and then closing the rom thead, i'm installing the exact same way as i do with other people roms (such as askuccio pixysos) and treble roms from the treble section, they even work better to be honest

and before you complain to me saying "kirin is s***, qcom is better" and then closing the rom thead, i'm installing the exact same way as i do with other people roms (such as askuccio pixysos) and treble roms from the treble section, they even work better to be honest

I don't care then. for me is works! go rude another place! why not say same thing on AEX? do me one favor: do not come here and rude like a child each time I post a rom, you are not forced to flash it.

you probably cant boot his roms because of the way you wipe data, you have to do it in stock recovery not twrp but i know a trick to do that without uninstalling twrp:
1.install haky's rom
2.change data partition type in twrp for something different than f2fs
3.try to reboot to system
4.phone will not boot and it will take you to stock recovery
5.in stock recovery you will have an option to wipe data because of "damaged" data partition but if you dont have an option to do that (lowlevel factory reset instead of data format) try to reboot a device once again
6.then you can boot haky's rom
i hope i helped you

I also did dirty flash and boot like charm, if he keep wiping data with twrp of course will never ever boot because we don't have a fully worked twrp, I use Pretoriano80 TWRP to install only then I run factory reset with stock recovery. that's all.!

i did this
1. install askuccio twrp via fastboot
2. install the rom and the opengapps nano
3. flash the stock recovery on twrp
4. reboot to recovery and wipe data from the stock recovery
after that, it boots, but hangs on bootanimation, i have used the same method on other roms such as the treble ones, and they boot up fine

Probably it's a twrp issue, isn't?
for me it's booted with:
* Dirty flash coming from my AOSP 9 flashed via this twrp (without wiping anything)
* Flash and run factory reset with stock recovery.
* then reboot.
* for gapps I use SimpleGapps are better than opengapps.
can I ask which device is? on my pra-lx1 boot fine, screenshots isn't fake!

thats what i ended up installing, works like a charm
but i installed the official generic gsi version from their website https://downloads.aospextended.com/treble_gsi , not the one from the p8 lite section since that one is paused
Bad news for this community:
Since most of you have to rude on my works, here my opinion from my side:
* I'm not gonna support Emui 5/8 for this device anymore (this time is seriously) so if I delete my roms for PRA-LX1 don't come to me and cry like a child in pm to ask me re-uploading them again. because I will not do that.
* I manage to boot Pie on Emui 5 for P9 Lite 2016 so I will support just that device and his variants that's mean I'm not gonna support pra-lx1 variants. so when Android Q come don't count me, I bet that someone will said "we don't need you" but don't cry if most huawei developers move to qualcomm like me. I'm not gonna waste my time and money for bunch of idiots and noobs.
Moved Officially on P9 Lite 2016 developments that I already start fixing Pie on it. have a good permanence.
Developments resumed due to many requests, any OT or flames will be reported to moderators no matter who is.
Thank you. For this great ROM will definitely try this out
