[Q] Wireless Miss call Notification - General Questions and Answers

I want to make a missed Call or SMS notification application. It works out this way.
A user receives the missed call on a primary android device. The name of the caller is transferred to the secondary android device like it can be a pop up on the secondary device with the name of the caller. The two devices are connected to each other through wireless network like it can be Bluetooth or Wireless LAN.
It is not necessary that you can guide me the complete functionality. Please guide me where to start with . Any similar thread that is already posted, any simple guidance where to start with ?
What I am supposed to make is similar to this but notification to the mail box is not required.

I am a complete newbie, so your generous help is requested. Thanks.

Blocking incoming call notification

I have to write code to block incoming call notification in Windows Mobile 5.0. I have read on various forums that it can be done by pausing the threads cprog.exe process. But despite pausing all the threads, the notification is still persistant. Please help urgently.
Do you only want to block notifications or the calls themselves? There is a program called Call Firewall that might help you.
Hi
I would like to to the same thing:
if someone calls the number of my devices, I want to suppress the "incoming call notification" and accept the call with an own application.
Acception the own stuff should work very good, but the notification coming from the operating system is annoying.
Any ideas?
thanks in advance for a clue,
regards

I need to do both in different situations. Can you please tell me how I can do that using TAPI? Specifically, how can I monitor a line and get the handle to an incoming call, so that I can check the caller's number and act accordingly?

how can i intercept a phone call?

what i want to do is to automatically add a specific prefix to all outgoing calls made, for the purpose of saving calling fee in my area. for instance, i want to add 1234 before any call number, whether it's from call history, contact, or any other sources.
im a .net developer, but i didn't find any managed library that can intercept a phone call and make modifications to it. i also explored the TAPI a little bit, it appeared to be able to do the work for me. but the problem is i've no idea of c++ programming.
so is there anybody here who can help me on how to wrap these native methods into managed counterparts?
any/other clue would be appreciated.
Take a look at Google Voice. Perhaps that might be simpler to use to save money on calls?
Hi,
try with Settings > Connections > Advanced > Dialing Rules
I think you can setup a profile that fit your needs.

doesn't work. and i don't think that setting is for phone connection.
actually i've changed my idea to developing a separate application to access call history and contact. and then when call button is clicked, use the managed Phone class to dial out. this still needs native dll as to accessing the call history. but this seems to be more practical than intercepting outgoing calls.
iDialer
http://supware.net/iDialer/
Not sure if this is exactly what you want, but I use this with my Googlevoice configuration to make free calls. Here's how I have it set up:
1. Installed iDialer
2. Installed configuration CAB that I built through the iDialer website
3. Click the phone icon within iDialer to set it to "Ask" which service to use.
4. I also have installed iContact, so I then go the contact I want through iContact.
5. I select the number for that contact that I want to dial (Home, Work, Mobile, etc.)
6. My phone brings up a pop-up asking:
-Alltel
-GoogleVoice Internet
-GoogleVoice CallingCard
7. I select what I want and it dials that instantly.
This works VERY well for me, and I am able to use my callingcard for out-of-network calls, and Alltel for quick in-network calls.
Hope this info helps!

thanks for the details.
i have 2 queries b4 actually trying it:
1. does the phone call get available via the network? if yes, then it's not applicable for me, cos i'm using gprs which is slow if i want to transfer voice.
2. i checked out google voice and found that it only supports numbers in US. true?
Moved as not software release or development.
Please take your time to read the rules..

Disconnected Number app?

I apologize if this already exists, but I was unable to find anything on Google or the forums here.
I'm wondering if it's feasible to create an apk that will do the following:
Upon incoming call, check the number. If it exists in a database of user-added numbers, or is Unknown/Private (if this setting is selected), then the call is answered by the phone automatically (without playing a ringtone), the mic is shut off, and it plays back a recording of the "The number you have dialed is not in service". Set it to disconnect after 30 seconds or so, if the other end of the call doesn't end it themselves.
I believe this would be useful as a sort of black-listing program, and should anyone call that number while blacklisted, they would most likely remove the number from their list. I see this being beneficial for telemarketers, collections calls, Ex-boyfriends/ex-girlfriends, that stranger in the bar you gave your number out to after you had too much to drink, etc.
While I realize there are a number of call-blocking programs out there, I think the main selling point of this would be that it would stop the calls from coming from that source.
Sorry if a thread like this exists somewhere, or even an app, but I couldn't find anything. I've just been thinking about this a lot lately, and while I have some experience programming, I have yet to touch anything for the Android OS.
Thanks!
check the market for a callblock app, shold be what your looking for
Not exactly. The call blocking applications I've seen so far either send them directly to voicemail, or pick up the call and immediately hang up on them.
The primary difference I'm looking for is muting the microphone and playing back a message prior to hanging up the call.
Does this already exist? If not, is it possible to create? Again, I have no experience coding for Android, so I don't know what we can and cannot do, although I imagine it probably would be possible, preferably without root (so as to reach a wider audience).
i believe you can do this with google voice.
i think if you mark the number as spam or block it in google voice it plays that type of message.
The only problem with that, is it requires the use of the Google Voice number, right? Which does not help for those who already have the current number. See OP:

I apologize for this needing to be moved. My original question was actually whether or not it was possible, but this turned more into a "Try this app" thread.

i believe if you end up using google voice for voice mail (where you dont have to have a gv number) it does this also.

[Q] iBlackList Android Alternative

Hi Guys,
Firstly i apologise if this has been asked before, but i did search and the only results i returned were no way detailed enough.
Ok so the only Android Device i currently have is a Nexus 7. Its very good. i really like android. For my mobile phone i currently use an iphone 4S. im due an upgrade soon and iv decide that im gonna go android ios has just had it for me. it takes too long between jailbreaks and really the only benefit of getting the latest iphone is they hold there value pretty well.
So i was looking towards the S4 or something similar. However before i do this there are certain requirements i need to ensure will follow me to the new device. This is on Ios an app called "iblacklist"
as the name suggests its a call / text blacklisting app. I have seen call blacklisting apps on android but as i am unable to test i cant be certain they have the exact same features as im use to. these would be.
1.Ability to create a blacklist
2.Chose to block calls or texts / MMS or all 3
3.The ability to have discreet notification to show a call block has been actioned like a slight vibrate. (I dont want a whacking notification across my screen saying call blocked etc)
4.I want to be able to chose the result of the blocked call e.g. the caller will be presented with (voicemail / keeps ringing / cuts straight off)
5.Ability to block any number not in my phonebook
6.Ability to block any unknown or withheld numbers
If anyone uses a similar app on android id appreciate your input.
Sorry if this seems lazy i just dont want to take the dive into android unless this app is 100% available and at the moment i have no way of testing all the so called call blocker apps offered in the playstore or anywhere else for that matter.

Incoming gsm/lte phone connection priority over other communicators audio connections

HI all,
My gf's phone behaves in a really strange way...
During an audio call using common communicators, say skype, whatsapp, messenger, if a new incoming gsm/lte connection is coming, then it automatically takes priority over communicator call. Communicator call is put on hold.
What is most annoying, is that you are not able to inform the person on other side of the line that there is a new incoming connection - no, the second incoming connection is appearing on screen, current connection is put on hold. To clarify, user can chose whether to accept or cancel new incoming call, but the 'communicator' call is already on hold;(
I find this most annoying coming from iphone environment, where I have full control on all live and incoming connections and where no connection is prioritised. When im on a whatsapp audio call and a regular gsm connection is coming, I can let other person know that I have incoming connection and decide to answer, cancel or put current call on call. I find this rather normal behaviour. Unfortunately this is not the case on my gf's phone which drives me nuts
Please let me know if this is case of specific ROM, or android os in general? I hope you could guide me toward an easy solution, hopefully not requiring reinstalling new rom. Many thanks!
Phone is running MIUI Global 10.2.1.0, Android 8.0.0.
