Hi, I recently attempted to install a custom mod on my Galaxy Tab 2.0 (GT-P1331) and of course, I screwed up - and now I'm soft bricked.
My backups aren't working, and I can't find any firmware or stock I can install to unbrick my tablet.
I'm stuck on CWM v6.0.2.3, and I'm pretty much a noob to most of this stuff..
Any help?
PS: Also, is there a way to update CWM while in recovery?
You can restore it by flashing the stock ROM with ODIN.
Give a search here for downloading the latest stock firmware files for your tab and flash them using Google.

As I said earlier, I've searched up and down but I cannot locate any stock firmware for my device.

All of those links are dead. And either way, none of them are for the P3113.. is the P3113 compatible with any other stock ROMs?
Hi,
I´m a neewbie to Samsung. My phone is a S6 SM-G920F, Baseband G920FXXU1AOCW
I came form an HTC and I´ve seen that flashing things are very different. So here are my questions:
1. I think, my bootloader is unlocked but I didin´t know for sure. So how can I check this?
(My HTV showed me this by using fastboot, didn´t know if there is fastboot with Samsung and how to start it - only know the download-mode and how to enter TWRP recovery)
2. Flashing firmware via Odin (i. e. from sammobile.com) means to loose my root again, right?
3. If I loose root, where do I get custom Firmwares and how do I flash them (if this is possible)?
4. If not, is it enough to flash bootloader and modem through Odin?
All answers are appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
Maybe someone can link me to an step to step instruction...
Fastboot is android doesn't matter who makes the phone.
If you flash a rom from sammobile then you will go to whichever stock you pick.
Other ROMs are available here. The phone is new. There aren't many yet. Cyanogen mod isn't available yet.
Root is available by flashing cfautoroot with Odin. You will need to get the specific one.
You can replace the recovery by flashing twrp team win recovery project with Odin.
You can flash boot loader and modem. Make sure you get the right region. The modem frequencies are different in different places.
You may find flashing a whole ROM even stock will fail. This is because the partitions are not the same size for all s6 stock ROMs. Don't ask me why. You can open the tar find which file stopped the flash delete it from the tar and flash again.

Thanks for answering. My questions had an other intention, I think.
My S6 is already rooted and I have a custom recovery (TWRP) :good:
I would like to know if you have to flash a whole firmware or only bootloader/modem? Because I didn´t seen a post here for a full firmware yet.
I am not familiar with the differences between htc whole firmware and samsung bootloader/modem
Actually I am on Firmware G920FXXU1AOCW. But there are newer ones like XXU1AOE3 or XXU1AOE4.
In the days of my htc you couldn´t flash only bootloader or modem, you had to flash a whole firmware (like radio, drivers, bootloader, modem etc.)
Flashing only modem and bootloader will it update i. e. touchscreen drivers? If not, where do I get this ones? You know, because of root I don´t get OTA´s anymore...
The modem just controls how your phone hardware connects to carrier towers etc.
The boot loader is a tiny thing that tells the processor where and how to load the OS.
The software for pretty much everything is in /system.
Many of these releases are the same software, region specific. The dates are fairly unimportant for the same version number. They generally reference the time when they were uploaded by someone. Not that they have updates and fixes.
Just wanted to know can I change my phone logo MetroPCS to say T-mobile with all the T-mobile add on. I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 by MetroPCS
My parents have a Galaxy Note 10.1. For some reason, today the device seemingly died, stuck in Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 logo. It can enter Odin download mode, but not recovery option. The device run stock 4.0.4 ROM (N8000XWALG7).
Should I reflash the 4.0.4 N8000XWALG7 ROM? All links I found are dead. Or what else I can/must do?
Flash a stock rom via Odin .
See sammobile for firmwares .
Presume you read the FAQS and tried a factory reset first .

I am trying to flash the original stock ROM it came with (4.0.4 N8000XWALG7 XSG, I think. Don't recall if it was an Emirati or Saudi CSC), but all links lead to dead Hotfile links. Right now, I am looking for that particular ROM to be flashed.
I have a samsung j7 (j7ooh) and flashed the enigma rom by allooosh98, after flashing the rom my imei got changed into 350000000006 and it shows emergency calls only, everytime i try to register it into a network it says can't register into a network, i reverted back to stock firmware but it did'nt fix the issues, and I forgot to make a back up after flashing the enigma rom, so i dont have the back up for efs and radio, so i kindly ask for help or suggestions on how i can fix it, and if someone with galaxy j7 (700h) could give a back up of their efs and radio i would be greatful, thank you.
Give SmartSwitch a try.

Use odin and flash stock rom with some odin options tick...
1). Re-partition
2).Nand Erase all
and then go to pit tab
download the pit file for your model here and load into odin. ( J700H odin file)
and flash the ROM.
your phone will be like new. With 100% original IMEI restore.

Either you're flashing wrong Rom or trying to downgrade.

I am getting same cm.bin error in this rom
Download mode of my phone shows sm-j710f so I downloaded a rom of SM-J710F and flashed using Odin and it worked
On the phone box the model says SM-J710FN but the actual model of the phone I guess is SM-J710F
Anyways thankfully I am on complete stock now but the first boot image is still of Samsung Galaxy S8. The image that shows when you first switch on the phone.
It is from the supernova rom that I had flashed.
I don't know who this didn't change back to stock :crying:
And now I don't even have root to change it back
Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks in advance
You need Flash boot image Manually

Stock rom package doesn't include the boot image, you can flash it manually through twrp
look for boot animation for your phone you'll find, then you can flash it via twrp.
or
use rom tool box/flashify to flash the boot image package.

Yes but I am not rooted now and with Samsung recovery.
I do not want to root since that will increase my warranty void counter.
Right now the counter is on 1
Any other work around?
Flash This

If the counter is 1 you're already out of warranty.
There's no other way to change boot animation.
And you can even change boot animation with samsung recovery, If you're rooted.

After flashing a Combination Firmware which someone has told me yo, i searched for a COMBINATION FIRMWARE for my SW-G920W8 and found this >>> COMBINATION_OYA_FA50_G920W8VLU6ARA1_OYA6ARA1_CL6591030_QB16590691_REV02_user_mid_noship.tar.md5
i flashed it and booted it to factory mode i think and tried to unlock it using Samsung tool and it succeeded (had to unlock coz its from canada given by my uncle but wont work here in Philippines) now when i try to flash stock rom from SAMMOBILE it fails and i also noticed that it changed my Baseband Version = G920W8VLU5DQI2 (former) now G920W8VLU6ARA1 after flashing that combination file. can sum1 help me fix it? i tried flashing custom roms for SM-G920W8 but to no avail im stuck in samsung logo.
