[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace not coming up

Hi everyone,
I've got a BIG problem
I have a Galaxy Ace. A friend of mine played with it and Since then the phone is kinda dead
When I press the On/Off button, a series of vertical color bars appear on the screen (filling 2/3 of screen) [See attached]
Screen reduces the brightness in 5 secs
Then nothing happens and phone does not respond to any key combination
When I combine volume down with power buttons, the same thing happens although this time the phone camera flashes once!
Using the Volume up button gives me two flashes!
By the way, Odin recognize the phone on a COM port, but I don't know what I can do with that?
I also tried ADB REBOOT RECOVERY command in Android SDK as recommended by someone in here. It says DEVICE NOT FOUND
Does anyone have any idea how can I restore the phone to a normal state?

any Ideas? I'm very worried about the phone

Try holding homescreenbutton and on key. Recovery menu should turn up. Then perform a hard reset

I just bricked my ace today and there was no way I was able to fix it, the closest I got was getting the device into a 'connecting' state in the samsung kies software but didn't got any further, no screen no nothing..
Eventually I went back to the store and they replaced it without asking too many questions, I told them it died while doing a factory reset.

Yes looks like the ACE still got problems, my friend's ACE also hangs alot.
My problem is that I can't see anything on the scree (see pic above) I dpn't know what state the handset is in!!!
Any one has a link to a recent firmware for ACE that works?

Weird, don't know if the resistor trick that works on the Galaxy S could also apply on this model ?

n den suddenly the phone switched off
now its not turning on
i tried pressin the

inorder to go to download mode n re-flash it but

Rom manager? If so your phone is dead. Do you honestly think selecting software meant for another device will work? Rom manager does not support the galaxy ace, yet. You've now ruined the partitions and so far noone has managed to get a successful unbrick. Make up a bull**** story and hope you get the phone fixed in warranty. Tata.

[Q] LG P920 3D briked!!!...HELP please...

help me please. I rooted my P920 with oneclick root and everithing was ok. than I installed the r2 patch from this site ,to improve performance,with cwm recovery and it was ok. than after a restart, I flashed another patch r1 I think, to use ext3 partition. after the zip installation the phone is turn off by it self and now it's dead. if I push power and volume up for 10 second my pc plug and unplug it in loop. what can i do? I made a backup befpre the crash but now i cant do nothing with my phone.....please help me

the phone is still in lg hands...nobody knows anything about when and if it will come back

it's really hard to brick a phone...
read the guide for flashing via pc and it will work again.
i'm not shure but think the o3d has also a downloadmode (volume down+power)
if the downloadmode also doesn't work it's really ****ed up
but as i said i'm not shure if there is a downloadmode...
edit: ok sorry... at the moment there is no way to update the phone via pc without a running os. sorry but you'll have to w8 till there is a way. (like odin from samsung)

Flash KDZ or use LG's recovery to go back to normal. Boot it up on download mode for this.
This is what happens when you start flashing crap from 2X.
Probably since partitions are different, you've just formatted what you shouldn't have.

Try this:
1. Remove battery
2. Press volume up
3. While it is pressed, insert the usb cable
Should enter download mode I think.
If it doesn't, try the same thing but with volume down.
Afterwards, you can let go of the key, and go to LG mobile tools and on the menu click recovery. It'll ask for your IMEI, put it there and press ok. Wait for the process to finish.

but...KDZ is a us odin is for samsung? this is the first lg i have...maybe the last too

I've try to flash a kdz but the problem is the same than before. the pc don't see the phone. I've try without battery pushing vol up and plug usb but it begin to feel the phone andg give error message sound continuosly like a loop. if i look the hardware in PC proprity it appear snd disappear with the sound tha i told before. it is like if I plug the phone 1 time for second...the pc reveak and reject it...I'm in a **** situation

yes of course..as I wrote on first message I've had allready root the phone with oneclick when everything happened...so the pc was allready pared with the phone...I really don't know what to do! that's a bad day for me

Spero che tu sia piu fortunato di me... ti spiego in inglese se no mi cazziano.
Connect usb cable, the telephone start automatically.
Press and hold power button to shutdown the telephone (ca 5 seconds)
Press Power button and volume up (hold the key for 10 seconds).
You can hear the usb sound from your operating system.
Repress power and volume up for another 10 sec.
You can hear usb sound, don't remove finger from two buttons, waiting another sound.
Now you can use lg software to try to restore the original firmware.
The problem for my telephone is the "upgrading firmware" page don't start... any time I power up the telephone I see the upgrading firmware page but the progress bar don't move.
I hope you have more lucky

This is a little guide on optimus 3d, for reset to factory settings
Get updater if you don't have go here http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe
After the installation start the updater and follow these steps.
1 Install the correct drivers
2 select the top right option and select your model phone from list “LGP920”
3 after the drivers are installed extract the battery and shut-down, then while holding volumUp button insert the usb cable in to pc.
4 Once your pc finds the phone let it install the drivers
5 Once done your phone will display “S/W Upgrade”.
6 now in the updater go to >support go to >select disaster recovery.
7 before recovery starts enter imei and serial number of the phone.
Wait until the process finishes and everything is completed, remove the usb cable insert the battery and start normally.
Hope this helps.

I faced a similarish problem, though a little different to what you describe. I wasn't quite able to get my phone working again, and the store I bought it from are exchanging for a replacement, but perhaps something in there can help you out.

No way! Nothing to do it is dead. I have only one possibility. Official customer support now it is better pay something than loose everything. Thank everybody help me. I ll update when device will back. Sorry for my bad and approximately English

[Q] Power Reset Or Unknow Download Mode

Hi Friends,
i had my galaxy gt-i9003 upgraded to gingerbread official rom i downloaded from xda, i have a few problems like phone going into sleep and camera not functioning, i wanted to role back to fyro but i cant get into the download mode anymore, it says POWER RESET or UNKNOWN DOWNLOAD MODE.
Please help.

Which Firmware did you flash? And, are you seeing any logo when you go to the download mode or is tit that only the text is appearing?
And DO POST THIS IN THE Q&A SECTION HENCEFORTH!

You need to press VOL - first, then press HOME key without letting go of VOL -, then press POWER button. When you feel the unit vibrates you can let go of POWER button until Downloading mode is displayed.

i do c the android logo on d scree with the text message, odin can see the deivce on com5, but just stays at the line saying connecting to deivce. The phone it self is working, but i am not happy with the upgrade, so wanted to roll back. Please help me solve this problem. The rom i upgraded to was I9003JPKP5.
The mistake i did, i think, wast not to upgrade to kpe first and then come up to kp5, i directly did a kp5, misssed that part.
Please Please help.

you need to flahs xxkpe twice to avoid camera problem too.

Weird!!!!!!!!

Tell me the method using which you flashed the firmware. Give me all the steps!
I will tell you where you went wrong!

U need to switch the phone off to get to download mode.
Also XXKPH is a final GB release. Install that by first flashing XXKPE twice, then using the single XXKPH file as the PDA in Odin with nothing else.

thanks for your help. I was able to get to the download menu, i removed the battery and inserted it back and used the assigned keys to get to it, the reflashed the same set of files i had, now i am getting the download menu and the camera is working fine.
Will download KPE and follow the instructions given on XDA step by step for the upgrade.

Hi. I tried the method up there to go to download mode but so far I can't get there. It's so weird. I can go to the recovery mode but not the download mode. Are there any more methods to go to download mode? I press all three buttons for roughly 1 min but no vibration at all. after I let go the power button, it go to the startup and stuck there.
Thanks in advance for any opinion.

You must press the volume down+home+power button and let go at the right time

Optimus 3d : SU760 bricked

Hello all,
I recently asked a friend to get an optimus 3d from china , he got it for me but it was not p920 but SU760 , i dont care really but when i inserted my dutch sim card the network signal was coming and going often , also the phone was already rooted with clockworkmod rom i tried to reset the phone y going into privacy > delete all data > but clockwork mod rom was still there and the signal was coming and going , so i connected my device into recovery mode to hard reset to latest stock firmware using recovery phone option using samsung tool.
It downloaded 430 mb file and installed the firmware and said completed , but when i powered on the phone i got LG logo and later T world logo like the logo which is on the back pannel and colours changing all the time like a pattern and it was like that for 30 - 40 mins later the screen went lack but all there buttons at the bottom , home entrer and options were illuminated .... no android OS .....
I? tried to recover the phone again via LG software but did not help same result , i am really seperate to get the phone working as it's my first android phone in my life , i really wanted to use it but now i cannot ....
also on all over the internet they talk about o3d p920 and not 03d su760 ...
Please can someone tell me where to find su760 stock firmware and how do i flash it to the lg phone ,,, i cannot even enter hard reset mode using volume key combination and home and power button ,,, seems phone is stuck in a cycle .... please HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the 3d comes in two variants su760 for asia i think and p920 for all over the world ...

For Hard Reset try this
remove your usb cable
remove your battery
insert battery again
press and hold volume down button
press power button
(you dont have to press 3D button thats for CWM Recovery)
(you also dont have to press the Home button)
after 8-10 seconds it will show you LG logo
release the power button and then the volume button
It will take you to the recovery menu
select yes
then again wipe EVERYTHING
ALL 4 OPTIONS
you can move with volume up and down and with menu key you run the commands

try volume UP and power, sometimes it needs to try several times to get in the CWM.
and its very crucial to do the fully wiping.
i wipe everything before the flashing and after.

i tried volume up and power still nothing ......
Where can i get stock firmware for su760 .....
all sites have it for p920 .........

xsball : thank for a detailed guide , i tried to flash the phone but , the lg flash tool hangs up (not responding)
So i decided to give the phone to LG they are going to fix it or give me a replacement until ...
but thank you for guide maybe it's my computer that is not working properly ....

The KDZ tool needs to run from a Win XP environment. That's how I managed to downgrade my LU620 (also from Korea.)
I've tried over and over to run the program on win 7 but it almost always crashes...

i will try from XP and let you know

just watch this video i have uploaded the procedure here
if your phone doesnt start put it in download mode like Trekfan422991 does in here (this is p920 but try it might work)

XSball : first thank you for the video , i tried again still no luck also i put it in SW download mode still no luck ....
even formatted my PC did clean install of XP still no luck ...
i can try lg flash tool and making custom usb cable by soldering resistor on cable , but i dont know wher to find su760 bin file ...
or last resource is to send the phone to LG and get it fixed ...

beore you start soldering open a teamviewer session and send me a pm..

i tried this but. my su760 only vibrate and blink when i power it on.
i tried to use lgflash tool but it keep saying wrong dll. i can't find a dll. for su760 help please,,, :crying:

Su760 can also be flashed with p920.dll

my lg su760 bricked or bootloop..
I was flashing a cwm recovery using terminal emulator appp on my lg su 760 ics v30b....i typed the command and clicked enter nothing displayed but it started a new line .... i rebooted normallly and everything was fine...when i typed in command reboot recovery the phone shutdown itself and now it is in kindda this situation when i press the power button it vibrates LG logo appears for 2 seconds and then shutdown itself i hope any one can help me..........

Galaxy Fit Problem!!!

Ok let me begin by saying i have problems with my phone like in touch screen doesn`t work at all,capacitive buttons (touch buttons near home button) don`t work after i flashed without knowing s5570 firmware ( a lot of them before i figured out i had s5670) then a lot of s5670 firmwares but still no success ((( what is there do to in this case ? Phone boots every time but can`t use touch screen and the two side buttons that stand for back and settings on screen i think. Power button works and volume aswell. Please help !!!!

Since ur touch doesn't work anymore, switch it off by removing battery. Now,
*Requirements:- Samsung Drivers, Odin.exe, BENI_v1.0.ops, firmware package.
1. Re-insert the battery & go for download mode by pressing & keep holding Volume Down+Home+Power buttons together. Yellow triangle appears with downloading written below it.
2. Install Samsung mobile drivers in pc.
3. Connect ur phone in download mode to pc via USB cable. Let the pc ensures ur phone to be "ready to use". Then open Odin.exe & see the COM PORT mapping box will turn yellow(indicating that ur phone is connected successfully)
4. Place BENI_v1.0.ops under OPS field & the .tar.md5 file under One Package. Click start, wait for ~10mins till done.
5. Now again remove & re-insert battery. Press & hold Home+Power buttons to enter stock recovery. Wipe data & cache there & reboot.
Problem solved...

If don't go with stock ROM with 1 file, he can try with stock ROM with 4 files.

No go ... Tried like 1000000 milion times not working what can i do ? Like I said i have the phone from Romania i tried even downgrading to froyo ... nothing works(( help i think i have blocked bootloader coz even when i installed froyo same bootlogo went up .... what is there to do in this stage?
