my friend installed Rom from CWM and it stuck on HTC Logo (i guess boot loop)
after some research i told him to do
we found out that he phone is S-ON
is it possible to fix this kina of Brick?
i dont need links or something like that just a possible route how to fix it..
Thank you..
You have to flash boot.img from rom zip file from fastboot "fastboot flash boot boot.img" without quotes or enable smartflash in 4ext recovery... Do you have matching fw?

you may have to flash the boot.img manually
that's why it's not booting
in order to get S-OFF i need to install the Boot.img?
i cant just install Stock FIrmware (if possible)
and unlock Bootloader"?
S-OFF is a different story
i suppose you have already unlock bootloader
what fw do you have?
can i take Customize Rom Install it via CWM then install extract boot.img from Zip install it via Fastboot?

yes you can do it via cwm but i suggest you to install 4ext recovery.it is better
As you have cwm your bootloader has been unlocked.... Fastboot or 4ext recovery with smartflash enabled

now with that hboot version you can easily S-OFF your device using this site
http://revolutionary.io/ after this you have to change your cid to supercid in order to flash whatever rom you want
if you don't want to do that:go again to this thread

flash first the appropriate 3.32 fw then the appropriate 3.33 fw and follow step4B in the link i provided you in my previous post

Did you take a nandroid backup before flashing custom ROM? if yes then restore it, if no then that was silly
If no then there are 2 things you can do:
1. Flash a GB ROM then S-OFF using revolutionary.io method
2. Flash a 3.32 or 3.33 RUU then flash custom ROM
Out of the two I would go with no. 1 because it will save you a great deal of headache later on because revolutionary S-OFF is easier and more user friendly than JuopunutBear
we manage to fix the Brick by using this Thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469296
Thank you all
Dears,
Steps i done till now:
1-Unloacked bootloader
2-s-off using Juopunutbear method
3-flashed Juopunutbear hboot
4- flashed cwm 'recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.9-pyramid'
5-flashed root 'su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed '
6-backed up my current rom using cwm
7-factory reset and full wipe
8-flashed bruce's cm10 rom
The problem: cannot charge phone when turned off ... keeps blinking orange led and nothing happens
1-should i change the recovery to ext4 ?
2-if i changed to ext4 .. can i flash anyone of the custom roms ?
Best Regards,

Hi,
There is no harm in trying what you are suggesting.
I find 4EXT an easy recovery to use.
Yes,you will still be able to flash any custom ROM.
If you get the same charging problem with 4 EXT,then, try a Sense ROM.
Thank you

If you're S-OFF then a better recovery to use is TWRP (TWRP has many benefits including the fact that it won't spontaneously corrupt your boot partition when flashing a kernel, unlike 4ext). Try 4ext and TWRP and see which one you like; the nice thing about being S-OFFed is that you have nice options like this

but TWRP i think is the best one for S-OFF devices
if you are S-ON then use 4ext recovery

did you use htcdev unlock method to unlock the bootloader?
edit:if you tried to flash an ics rom then it won't boot because with your hboot version you have gb firmware
you have to upgrade first your firmware to ics and then flash the ics rom
and to upgrade firmware you must S-OFF first
to SOFF: http://revolutionary.io/
to upgrade firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
flash 3.33fw universal
just follow very carefully the installation steps and before flashing check md5 sums(important)
after flashing the firmware install the ics rom because your current rom(GB) won't boot on an ics firmware
continued rnexpec
if you don't want to S-OFF
You must have 4Ext Recovery, before flash a zip rom. Enable Smart Flash in 4Ext and after that install the rom

you have 2 options:
1)using htcdev method to unlock the bootloader and root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
after unlocking the bootloader flash this zip from recovery to root
http://download.chainfire.eu/333/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.34.zip
2)use juopunutbear method to S-OFF and root the device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1661631
the difference between S-ON and S-OFF
with S-OFF you are fully unlocked(means that you can flash also firmwares, radios, rils which on S-ON you can't)
with S-ON you are limited only for flashing custom roms anf kernels

basically it has the same steps for S-OFF and unlock bootloader
so you can use that too
so i need to do is to first unlock bootloader(through Htcdev site).Flash any custom recovery and then root the device or I need to S-off the device too to get a root?
PS:
S-Off requires wire-trick which is like a operation of my device. :silly:

Follow this till you have a custom recovery with smartflash on.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
Then copy any zip to sdcard, boot into recovery, flash.
If you get stuck in a boot loop, extract boot.img from your custom rom and use fastboot flash boot boot.img
I recommend that you do not soff or flash radios till you feel comfortable.
Happy to help.

Yes, that's the way you do it when you're S-On, though you don't need to use 4ext, you could also use twrp and enable HTC Dumlock.
If your phone doesn't boot after flashing it could be possible that you need to flash 3.33 firmware first.
