I went from synergy 1.3 rom to beans build 5. i wiped all 3 and installed, for some strange reason on beans i would lose signal 70% of the time so i decided that i would go back to synergy. i wiped all 3 again and flashed and now i cant get any signal at all! i dont know what i did that would cause this. does anyone know how to fix?
Did you flash kexec then Beans? Also did you mess with the phone info settings at all?

Should I be concerned with IMEI if I just plan on flashing kexec and then Beans ROM?

I would back it up even before rooting or flashing anything...its easy and will save alot of headaches down the road.

Just using the terminal command?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
i flashed beans with cwm 6,0.1.0. i did back up my imei, i thought it was the same thing so i restored it with the terminal and rebooted and its still the same. and no i did not mess with any of the system settings all i did was wipe wipe wipe and flash and when it booted i had no signal
Edit: can you also explain how to flash kexec? i always thought that you had to have the kexec able recovery and it did it on its own.
Why does it say to not use the method on backing it up? Is there another method? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791291

i used the terminal method and i think it worked haha i dont even know if that was my problem in the 1st place. but this is the method they recommend now. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1802024
Okay, I saw that. It doesn't show how to back it up just recover, I guess? So if I lose it I just go this route instead of backing it up? Sorry if that's confusing.

If you flashed beans r5 then you already have a kexec kernel.

OK I pushed factory recovery and kernel. It rebooted then I pushed cwm to the factory recovery and it didn't work. Now I am stuck in factory recovery I don't know what to do I may have bricked this phone. I tryed clearing memory and cache and installing the ROM I have on my SD card and I won't let me do that what do I do. I hope I can fix this

I'm thinking of selling my phone and want to make sure that it's been cleaned of all personal data. My phone is rooted and on CM 10.0
Do I just do the following:
>>Reflash latest clockworkmod recovery, boot into recovery and wipe data + cache + dalvik<<
Is it preferable to sell the phone with the stock ROM? If so how can I do that (assuming it's possible).
Thanks.
I would probably do a full wipe and flash the factory images thru fastboot and lock the bootloader. This will return it to brand new out of the box software.

This but format SD through the computer first. This will wipe everything and make it "Zip" again.

The best way would be to flash the factory image, which will return everything stock and new. I have a guide here for it.

I've been formatting the SD through CWM.
What is the difference between formatting in CWM or a computer? CWM sees to wipe it clean, or am I missing something?

Formating through the computer will wipe and defragment it as well. It is a 'true" format than with CWM. CWM just wipes but not like through the computer.

I would format SD card through the computer than flash factory image from Google than root again by fastboot flash CWM and flash SU. This will ensure all is wiped and it will amaze the new user how fast it is.

So, I finally decided to take the leap into custom ROMs with MiUi (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879064). I got Darksides Super Wipe (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477955) as the instructions listed.
I followed the instructions to the T: I did a back up, I flashed Darkside, then I flashed MiUi. Everything worked until I tried to flash MiUi and all I got was E:Can't open /sdcard/MIUI...... (bad) Installation aborted. I tried to flash my backup through CWM on my external SD and that also isn't working. I have no idea what to do and I'm terrified my battery is going to run out and I'm going to be SOL.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
You shouldn't use darkside wipe.
Did you check the md5 sum of the download?

I actually just figured out how to fix it, I guess I jumped the gun on coming to the forums. I guess I'd rather just look dumb and have an answer than wait for my battery to go from 44-0
I was just doing what they said to do on the instructions. Doesn't it basically just reset to factory default/wipe cache?
I want to try again, but I don't know where I went wrong the first time. Should I not have put it on my external SD card?

No one has used darkside wipe for a long time. I don't see anywhere in the instructions where it says to use that script.
External sd is the best place to put it. Make sure it's on the root of the sd card though.

Uhhhh, I'm looking at how to do that and I have a MD5 Check, but where do you find the Hash Sum?
I feel like I dived in over my head....sorry for all the questions. I read up on some of the guides, but I guess I didn't understand it as well as I thought.
EDIT: Okay, I have it verified, about to try again.
I've now tried CyanogenMod and gotten the same message about it being bad. I'm so confused...

Okay, I boot to recovery, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, and then install zip from SDcard>choose zip from SDcard>MiUi.... at this point I get the error so I just have to go to backup and restore from backup.
I'll try that when I get home from work today, but I tried it earlier with the older version of CWRM and still got the same notification. Maybe the update will change that.

Hello my friends, I would like to make sure I am clear on how to return the 1727 to stock in order to return to ATT for service.
My understanding thus far is that I must do the following:
1. Return to stock firmware using ODIN
2. Reset the flash counter
How do I delete the traces of CWM recovery, and also ODIN itself? Is it possible to make the phone look entirely 'unrooted' for ATT to fix and/or service?
Thanks!
Flash the stock rom with odin. It'll replace cwm with the stock recovery. You can use triangle away to reset the flash counter. Do that after returning to stock.

A stock tar restores stock 3e recovery. If you're counter had not been incremented, and it probably hasn't, you don't need triangle away. We also have a "counter reset" that you can flash if you have increased your counter. So, no need for triangle away anyways.

Using the official tar from sammobile will not trip the counter. You are good.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
the only way you could of tripped the counter was by flashing koanes tar rom from way back in the i727 early development or similiar modded roms which there are none that tripped the counter in the past 12months or more. if you did trip the counter there is a reset fix in the 1stop sticky, triangle away wont work for our devices
to return to att just use odin to return to stock as it will replace everything you flashed and be completely stock, just follow the guides

I suppose you could do flashable zips but you still have to return to the stock recovery. I'm pretty sure there is a flashable stock recovery around somewhere.

It won't matter if it's ics or jb since there both officially released by att. You can find the stock firmware at sammobile.com. They're zip files and you'll need to extract the .tar.md5 file from them to use in odin. Use 7-zip to extract.
