I've recently just ordered a Newman N2, to replace my ageing HTC Sensation XE, and was wondering whether anyone had any experience, views, opinions on this phone? As you can see from the specs below it is quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy S3. Importantly though it costs a lot less.
The reason I'm posting this on XDA is in hope that some developers will be interested in it and start to develop custom ROMs for this impressive budget alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S3.

I currently have this phone and I'm using the Loqi Rom (Android 4.1.1).
It is really fast and has a nice clean interface. A Cyanogenmod rom would make it fly very high...

That would be good. I'd love to see AOKP myself, as I'm currently running that on my HTC Sensation XE. I've tried lots of different ROMs, but I always come back to AOKP.

this phone currently is just a combination of great hardware and crappy medium firmware.
Buggy and unstable firmware which is annoying.
I hope there would be some awesome ppl who will create some better roms.

Totally agree. If someone can create a solid ROM, then this phone will be amazing. Especially when compared to the similarly spec'd Samsung Galaxy S3, which costs a whole lot more.

Sorry.. I can't help.. i have no ide
I'd say the evo, has more dev support than just about anything, and definitely has CM7.

I'd recommend to wait out for the Nexus 3.
htc desire or desire hd
The future is floppy
It's more bends and twists really..

I love Galaxy S and Nexus S so SGS 2 would have win points over Motorola Atrix 4G (CES Winner 2011), though I've seen poor reviews, I find it hard to believe with all the power and features this could mess up, love the WebTop ;-)
Nexus 3 is January 2012, here and now it's Galaxy S II, even with it's missing physical camera button, flimsy battery cover, missing notification LED and whines from reviews made with pre-release models, I find it hard to accept such an amazing device, only made better could be wrong!
For the record, I also think the Sony Arc is a nice phone. I'm not interested in nice things.. only truly inspirational and feature rich devices make it to my view. SGS screens are amazing but then.. they did practically invent HD Television so it stands to reason ;-)
For the record I own two Desire HD's... My wife likes the functionality. I think she is blind and the second, is what happens when you get over enthused with HBOOT ROM hacking and carried away
I've blown up Sony Xperia X10's and keep one around for fun.. does not mean I endorse a PlayStation phone.. I have a PSP for that ;-) The DRM system implemented in Sony's early devices is now gone, thankfully and have been told the ARC is what I expected when I purchased my first Xperia X10 and wouldn't doubt it either, but it's not a Tegra 2!
What do you want from your phone? I use a camera for photo's, games machine for games, computers for programming and tablets for reading.. my phone really is a phone with email and SMS... it's your call!
Good luck!
I'm kinda looking at the evo but not sure because of the flimsy screen the nexus looks good aswell but I haven't had the chance to play with one as for the others, those are GSM it needs to be CDMA thanks for all of your suggestions keep em coming.

If 15K is your budget I would say push 1k more and buy Auxus CoreX4 that is one hell of a config that you can get for 16K
check the comparison on ebay India it beats Ipad 2 and Note 10.1 in some aspects only drawback is camera and one doesn't buy a tablet for camera
CoreX4 doesn't have good resolution. 1024 x 768 would look pathetic on 10.1'' screen.

Just to update you its 9.6" and if you are misinformed then you might need to check the resolution on Ipad 2
The iPad 2 features an Apple A5 SoC, which comprises both the CPU, 512MB of RAM and a PowerVR SGX543MP2.[1][37] Other features include front and rear cameras, a three-axis gyroscope, headset controls, proximity and ambient light sensors, microphone, magnetometer, accelerometer and a 9.7 inch multi-touch screen with a maximum resolution of 1024×768 hence resulting in 132ppi.
help me i got corex2 3g and its stuttering in every game
Problems in iberry corex2
I strongly recommend don't buy this tablet. I bought used it for one week, faced various problems. Listed the problems and raised a ticket, after continuously calling customer care finally they agreed to take it for service. They collected it, kept it with them for 10days and returned without fixing a single issue.
I'm going to write a detailed review on the problems with this tablet on my blogs and post a link link soon.
i heard this smartphone yesterday from gizchina,it looks very good, what do you think? guys here.

- The latest Android 4.4.2 System
UMi have had an interesting past. After launching the hugely popular UMi X1 a few years ago, the company hit the spotlight again last year with the UMi X2. But since then the UMi candle has been burning low, despite even the launch of the UMi X3.
The problem seemed to be that although UMi could make a capable flagship, they always seemed to produce lack-luster low to mid-range smartphones.
This is all behind them now and a new mid ranger is about to turn the company around. The UMi C1 is based around the chassis of the flagship X3, so you can be sure it is a great looking smartphone, and hardware has been tweaked to make it more affordable.
A quad-core MT6582 processor and 1GB RAM plus Android 4.4.2 are always a good mix when building a powerful phone on a budget. Throw all that in to a great looking steel chassis with 5.5-inch 720p Gorilla Glass display, micro SD card expansion and 13 mega-pixel main camera and it is all looking very peachy.

November/December will my HTC One M8 arrive !
Is a good phone.
Great post! So, which ones and how many of these should I be trying to implement? What do you suggest?
Good phone but photo quality is poor and this is not a gorilla glas
Yes this phone is a good phone for the price, but, keep in mind that this phone is not a gorilla glas 3 mobile and that the photo quality is poor, if you want to root it you must use the last Vroot in chinese.

I am satisfied with the photos this phone is making, regarding the gg, putting on the screen protector available in the stock package will solve the issue. One drawback is the hd resolution for a 5.5" screen, this is the only thing i found a bit annoying, FHD could have been way better.

Has anyone noticed that screen randomly turns on and that sometimes you don't have internet access on wifi (this is very noticeable on hotspots which require log in) and then you have to turn wifi off, turn it back on and login again?

The New Jiayu S4 has been rumoured for some time now, but there are finally some pictures for it! Check them out here:

Rumoured Specs:
4.7" 1280x720 Gorilla Glass 3
MTK6752 Octacore 1.7GHz
3/2GB RAM
16GB ROM
2G GSM 900/1800MHz
3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz

It was rumored that the specs had been somewhat simplified, i.e. a MTK6753 instead of the MTK6752. Anyone knows what's what?

I'm also waiting on this device. It has been a long wait already though, so I hope some definitive specifications and/or date of release will become availabe soon. Some specs appear to be quite certain, but in the end we have nothing but rumors at this moment.
I do really hope they maintain the 4.7" screensize. I really don't want a bulky phone that will annoy me when I have it in my pocket...
The latest info I can find is from the facebook-page of Jiayu Germany. https://www.facebook.com/JiayuDE/posts/865090990278818 (this link is in German of course, but for those able to read it (or use google translate) I include it here). It seems that the German distributor is the most active in spreading the news about the S4. I'm defenitly keeping an eye on them for this.
I guess we will have to wait a little longer...
This is false, Jiayu phones have Jiayu LOGO on the back.
This photo comes from the facebook-page of Jiayu Germany, an official distributor. They say it was a non-functioning dummy. That could explain the absence of a logo.
But like I said: all we have at the moment are rumors. I'm really waiting for some confirmed specs.
Hey all
This thread is for general discussions regarding the Samsung Galaxy S Duos specifications and general design features. As the device has been around for some time, it would be interesting to hear from members who own the device, what has made you stick with it for so long?

2016 say ta ta, Bye Bye, Adios, Sayonara, Astala vista
This is the worst phone that Samsung made, and to think that they made Samsung s Duos 2 and 3 too (even worse than worse). it's a shame on us as well. it was heavily priced, and we made it the most selling device back in 2012-2013. just because it had an S series title and 5mp camera. nothing else was good about this. (Now I realize it's not even 5mp, check in antutu benchmark)
200 USD You get octa core devices man, even if it was quad core, dual core atleast, we would have survived, for another year.
2016 is "The End" for this.
We are only using this mobile, to take out with us, so that if it get lost, we don't feel bad about it that much.
We are keeping this mobile, to get rid of our wives and bosses cause the battery drains faster in call than they come to their point where you can't take any of them with you, the battery dies. :good:
People are selling this online as low as 30 USD, in exchange, it's even worse, they are giving 20 USD.
change the subject to farewell s duos, will you. that would be much appropriate.
Thank you
