[Q] Hannspree Hannspad SN10T1 recovery

Hello.
After recent acquisition of a Hannspad tablet i decided to install ubuntu desktop on it. Starting from the basics, clockworkmod was needed to be installed. As this tables is a replica of the gtablet , following this tutorial was mandatory. viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com
After installing clockworkmod from that tutorial for the 1.2 branch, i discovered that the softbuttons from the right side were broken, only buttons working for clockworkmod were the up/down (vol+, vol-).
So another recovery.img was neeeded. NVflash for nvidia tegra 250 was downloaded. When trying to understand the program, i issued the default command residing in a batch file, in the nvflash dierctory root " nvflash.exe --bct flash.bct --setbct --bl bootloader.bin --configfile flash.cfg --odmdata 0x3c000011 --create --go " ( still wonder why i did that ).
After this, the tablet became unresponsive, except for the apx mode. Only thing working was the power button. So i downloaded the bootloader for gtablet. After loading that bootloader, the tablet will start for half a second, but restart immediately. No recovery mode, no booting, just the backlights staying up for half a second.
My answer is, if anyone has any time and patience to help me and others who might encounter the thread, is there something that can be done to bring back the device?

yeah, you´ve 2 options : first you delete the partition and tell them you don´t know anything...
or install win 7/ or use ubuntu

I don't think that win7 can be installed on an arm processor. As for ubuntu, i will try to install it, but i have to learn more about the post/storage/arm cpu in order to bring the tablet back to life.
Can anyone direct me to some resources on how to install an os on an arm architecture?
I tried to find the resources, but in no avail.

download the update 4789 etc. from hannspree, rename just update, take zip file(update) into root of your external device than boot ( push volumen up+ and power button 5 seconds) than should the system reboot with old settings, if nothing happens try with ac adapter and usb.
@fxandrei : i try to install win 7,bootlloader etc. if you know something or have honeycombfiles/updates etc. pls say it thx

Any news on it? I am on a worst scenario, the one where one decide to use nvflash_gtablet...zip on the Hannspad (modify partition scheme, and worst cbt )
I can't boot, or rescue anymore, and trying to recover the partition scheme seems to end in only APX mode to work (no more wolume up or down + power working)
Reflashing nvflash_gtablet restore viewsonic start screen but that's all...
I need a fresh and complete dump of hannspad SN10T1 (cbt+partitiontable+every partition dump)

For those interrested, with the help of people from slatedroid and forum.hardware.fr, I've been able to recover my tablet (not stock 12 patitions, but a good working 10 partitions images).
You can find instructions and the full package (rom 1.2.1-4789 + Linux and windows nvflash +drivers for windows + scripts) there:

Instructions:
Connect your PC and Tablet with the usb cable
Put your device in APX mode.
APX mode is obtained, whe you have bricked your device, or when doing the following:
tablet is off and you start it by pressing and maintaining volume down + power button, it must power on and go to a black screen, it it goes to a freezed boot log or a work in progress image, the try wolume up + power button.
Linux:
You can see if your device in APX under linux by doing a lsusb, if you can see a line with:
Bus XXX Device YYY: ID 0955:7820 NVidia Corp.
So now you have a APX connexion with your tablet.
Download Recovery-SN10T1-1.2.1-4789.zip (link at bottom of post)
Extract it where you want, and execute ./nvflash_sn10t1.sh
After it is finished powerdown th tablet, do the opposite combo key (volume up or down + power for 3-4 seconds) and make a wipe data/factory reset.
You can restart, you have a stock rom (10 partitions only, not stock firmware)
Windows
Download Recovery-SN10T1-1.2.1-4789.zip
Extract it where you want
Now boot your tablet in APX mode:

Thanks, that fixed the problem. Although the tablet is working, the quest to have Ubuntu on the tablet is still on the table(some pun intended). On slatedroid forum there are some folks with the exact same ideea, so, let,s hope that running x11/Ubuntu on sn10t1 will happen.

Cant boot into recovery

Am sorry if I have posted this in the wrong thread.
I have a 53 version Hannspad and I was able to successfully install Flashback 7.2 onto it.
Everything was well until yesterday when I installed Rom Manager from the market and installed Gtab flash recovery by choosing first option in the rom manager and then selecting Gtab from the list (the list had Advent Vega' Elocity A7' etc).
It said "flashed successfully" and I almost forgot about it until yesterday when I decided to install fards Gtabcomb 3.3_refresh. Now I am unable to boot into either CWM recovery or stock recovery. The tablet boots and runs just fine just doesn't go into recovery. It says 'Recovery key detected' and gets struck though I can boot and use the tablet. I am writing this using the tablet. My main probelm with Flashback is that it doesn't allow me to download apps via market.
Please suggest me how to get CWM back.

Help please! My device wont enter apx mode... it does open the recovery mode every time and i can't make modifications because the side buttons aren't working aswell.

I thank everybody for there hard work to get these problems solved, I do have a good one :
I tried to flash Recovery-SN10T1-1.2.1-4789.zip and it excuted ok on my hannspad I saw the Hannspree logo, than the Tap N Tap running logo .. but now the Hannspad didn't startup, it came in a loop of the Tap N Tap screen, after 4 times the screen became blank (only the green powerlight showing) .
Now I read i had to do a Data wipe (go into recovery mode) .. but After (hard) reboot and pushing the +/- button it just goes to APX mode and no recovery (stock nor CWM) i just can't seem to nvflash any recovery.img to make the thing work ..
I would love to have some help, i would really appreciate it

Sadly enough there isn't much of a Hpad community @XDA, so for help with your problem you might be better of in the [email protected] forums or, depending on your language skills at android-hilfe or hannspad.fr. All three have excellent recovery guides. Good luck.

I thought I had bricked my friends Hannspad for good after trying many other "solutions" until yours did the trick. Thanks for being both clever enough to know how to solve my problem and kind enough to share.

[Q] [Help] Tablet won't boot, no recovery, only APX-mode

Hi all,
I have a bit of a problem and in need of some help. Yesterday my TF101 shut itself down and since then it won't boot anymore. The screen stays off completely, so no freezes on logo's or bootcycles (as far as I can tell since the screen is not showing anything).
I've tried:
- Holding power button for 30 sec, release, then hold it for 3 secs (hard reset)
- Holding power + volume down (cold boot)
ADB doesn't work either (since the device isn't turned on)
The only way I get some sort of response from the tablet is when I boot it into APX mode (power + volume up while usb is connected to pc). My computer recognizes 'a device', I've installed the nvflash-driver and started looking for unbricking-roms. To no avail.
I've tried numerous downloads/versions of nvflash unbrick-tools with basically two results:

After downloading and unzipping I boot the tf101 into APX mode, doubleclick download.bat and it starts. So my tablet isn't _completely_ dead. But after uploading bootloader.bin and waiting for bootloader to initialize I get an error:

I got the nvflash+stockrom files from xdafileserver.nl (NVFLASH_ICS_9.2.1.21_WW_NOROOT.zip).
Again, tf101 in apx-mode, doubleclick download.bat..
- this time it uploads blob.EBT (instead of bootloader.bin) and then gets stuck on 'waiting for bootloader to initialize'
I've run out of ideas.. Anyone hasn't?
I'm running the latest firmware (.24) on a WW B60-model (+nvflash has worked before)

Try using blobtools to unpack an EBT partition of the latest stock update, then rename to bootloader.bin and flash using NvFlash, or try different NvFlash versions.

First thing first... have you check and confirmed if your battery had totally drained and it caused your TF to shut down? Which all you need is charging now..

Drained battery is not the problem (it was fully charged and I charged it quite a long time when it wouldn't start - and it 'boots' into APX-mode so it wasn't totally dead anyway)
Will look into the 'create your own blob'-suggestion, I've some time today for that. I'll keep u posted

[Q] Getting Blank Screen, not even boot logo

Hi Friends,
Need advise as currently my TF101 is having blank screen and i can't even boot it up and also the Asus Boot logo is also not appearing.
It happened as i was trying to flash it stock rom to my device using Easy Flasher in APX mode. After all success, i got below screen on my PC and also tablet:
Screen on PC - refer attachment
- Getting message NVFlash [resume mode] and hangs
Screen on Tablet - refer attachment
- Flash success, then flash failed.
Really need help from anyone on bringing back my tab to life. I am just suspecting i am stuck in APX mode (even when i already tried to press power 30 secs), i still get blank screen. At the same time, as per the second screenshot, since i can see contents on the screen i assume no problem with the tab screen.
Hoping someone can advise and guide me on this at the same time provide alternative solution to get any recovery flashed or even alternative way to flash stock rom.

I used to get stuck on a black screen after NVFlash too
Holding the power button for 30 seconds, and then powering on normally again always fixed it
You can test if you are stuck in APX mode by plugging it into the PC and see what device manager says
You can try NVFlash to stock using this

I have downloaded NVFLASH_ICS_9.2.1.27_WW_NOROOT.7z and extracted it, later on i have put Wheelie files replacing the ones in NVFLASH_ICS_9.2.1.27_WW_NOROOT folder. And i launched the reflasher but it is stuck at below state. Am i doing something wrong? How long does it normally take for the flashing process? Can guide me with the correct way to use wheelie/nvflash?

Update: I have managed to flash the TWRP via EasyFlasher to my Tf101 and i can see "Phone update success!!!" message twice. From here i still cant go into recovery or also on my tab. The screen is always blank and also i can't even get the boot logo. Really hoping someone can help me with this. Thanks

Try a 30 second power button press followed by a 3 second press and see if you get the Eee pad logo.

The NVFlash file I linked you to doesn't need anything added to it, just extract it, put your tab in APX mode, connect to PC > USB, run download.bat as Admin
Wait for it to complete, the result all being well should be 100% stock tab
It takes about 10mins~ from what I remember, been a long time since I used it though

Hi bro, thanks for your reply. Tried both methods and i still get it to Flash. Each time i use NVFlash it just gets hang halfway and not moving. I have tried on a few PC. There was once it was success, but i can't get seem to come out of APX mode (pressed power for 30secs). Each time i plug the tab to my PC it always detected as APX mode.
Guess it is time for me to bring it to the Shop

If you leave it plugged into the PC > USB, and hold down power for 30 seconds, does the PC see it disconnect from APX mode and then enter APX mode again when you let go of the button ?
Try that, and keep hold of the power button until the PC recognises that it has disconnected

Hi friends, thank you so much finally i got it working! Really grateful. The problem is the tab was stuck in apx mode. Hence i got EasyFlasher to flash again and it worked fine.
What i did was:
- Flash TWRP via EasyFlasher in APX mode.
- Came out from APX mode as per advise by leaving cable on PC, press 30secs and make sure the detection of APX is gone via Device Manager.
- Removed and reinstalled the APX driver and flashed stock Rom from ASUS via EasyFlasher. This way the flashing did not get stuck half way.
- System rebooted and i had a working Tab again.
- Flashed KatKiss 4.3 and it is awesome!

[Q] Cannot get in recovery mode!

ok here's the story... a while back, I loaded katkiss4.4.4_20140720 with easy flasher 0.8.3b stable and TWRP 2.2.1.

All was ok, but my tablet was a bit unstable, wifi issue, and Twitter official app was not working.
So I decided to upgrade. Back in the original thread, I ask for a new version of TWRP/EasyFlasher... got this version:
EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE_TWRP2.3.2.3.zip
So I ran this, all good, got the new version on the tablet here a screen shot: screeenshot186 attached
On the tablet I see
- Entering NvFlash recovery mode / Nv3p server
- Chip Uid: 038061c642f33d7
- !!!!! phone update success !!!!!!
- !!!!! phone update success !!!!!!
Now! When I reboot, by pressing power a few seconds, I got back to KatKiss... then I reboot again (reboot to recovery) to get to recovery mode but always get back to the normal android screen.
So... I do I get back to recovery mode so I can update to latest katkiss version?
UPDATE: I tried this: hold Vol down and Power until you see the white text at the top of the screen, then release all buttons and quickly tap Vol up to enter recovery ... Still going back to KK, not recovery

Continuing from your other thread, cold booting linux means you either hit the wrong button after holding Volume Down & Power, or you didn't hit Volume Up quick enough when the white text appeared, you only get 5 seconds or so
From your screenshot, you didn't wait long enough for it to complete, it says 97% done
With Easyflasher, make sure you're selecting the correct SBK version, 1 or 2
SBK1 is B6O serials and lower, some B7Os - SBK2 is all the rest

Sorry but...
1. Yes I did press volume UP inside 5 sec and even faster <1s
2. The screen shot is at 97% because at 100% the windows closes and I cannot take a screen shot
3. The first time I did the update, I used SBK1 because I have a B60... and I also re-used SBK1 to update to TWRP2.3.2.3.
Anything else for me to check?
Can I re-load the "original" TWRP?
I am stuck here.

I re-ran this version: EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE
The output in windows and behavior if completely different. (I would need to film it)
Now I can reboot in recovery.
So I did the same thing with this version: EasyFlasher-0.8.3b-STABLE_TWRP2.3.2.3.zip
But it does not work.
Now I am back to version 2.2.1.4... which had a bug with wiping one section of memory I think ?
Any other version of EasyFlasher with TWRP that I could try ?

I think I'm in serious problems with my tf700...
I run (ran...) Chromi-X on internal with f2fs-formatted /data and the modified twrp from the xda f2fs thread.
I didn't do anything special and used the pad in this configuration for a few days (some time ago I used Zombi-X for a while... I often switched between ROMs and never had any problems with my pad).
Though I had to unbrick my device some weeks ago for another reason, so I know how to unbrick it with the wheelie method.
Here is what I did:
During the day I noticed the dock battery to be empty and the pad battery being ~ 45%. I didn't care about that, because I used the pad very long before and never had battery drain problems.
After a few hours when I was back at home my pad was shut down. I wondered if this might be caused by a somehow fully drained battery during the time I have been away.
So I pressed power button, the pad vibrated twice and the boot menu with the 4 green penguin appeared.
After the first line of the preinit script nothing else appeared for minutes, so I turned the pad off again and then turned it on while pressing volume down.
When I tried to enter rck, the 4 black penguin appeared, but instead of starting recovery there is just a line that reads "a n d r o i d _" blinking for minutes.
I tried the above steps for several times without success.
So I turned the pad off again, plugged it into my pc, then turned it on pressing volume down and started a linux terminal, typing "adb devices". The device is recognized as usual.
So I tried to reflash twrp recovery using adb. Doesn't complete sending data or doesn't send data at all, I don't know...
EDIT: I mean fastboot, not adb.

Ok, last chance... I turned the pad off again and then started it using power and volume up to start apx mode.
Then I bootstrapped (successfully) with wheelie and entered nvflash mode:

But when I try to nvflash my unlock-token.img it doesn't finish sending it or doesn't send it at all... no error message, nor in terminal nor on pad, just nothing...

After waiting for many many minutes I opened another terminal, typing "adb devices". Device is no longer present.
(I have to mention that I don't know if this is normal or not while in apx mode, just writing down everything what I did)
So I pressed power button to shutdown the pad.
Immediately the other terminal window (running NVflash) told me:

Wow... 131 kb out of 8390?
How long can (should) it take to send the unlock-token.img?
I don't know what to do now...
Should I press the tiny reset hole? :/
Or should I wait for ...hours... to send the unlock-token.img?
