Hey guys, I'm in a bit of a pickle....
I downloaded skype a while back, but while it was downloading, it randomly hard reset my phone (Im running bionix rom and it does that sometimes). It didn't even show the samsung logo. It went to the boot animation and continued to loop it and never started back up. Now, whenever I try to redownload skype, it freezes my phone because part of skype is still in my phone and it doesn't know what to do with it. I tried uninstalling it but I didnt show up under my apps. What the hell do I do??
Did u try using root explorer to find it?

I don't know where to find it, I've looked.
att one x, rooted and bootloader just unlocked. i had just restored a titanium backup when it suggested a reboot. after the reboot i get the messages com.android.phone and process.acore have stopped. then the phone reboots and the same messages again. anybody know how to get out of this loop?
We're you restoring Titanium Backup to a new ROM? It sounds like you could have accidentally installed the past phone application or other system applications. I suggest restoring again and checking the apps that are being restored

Hope you have not restored system apps or data... just do a factory reset... and restore only user apps... also u have not mentioned about whether you installed any new ROM, if yes then app data compatibility issue may crop up between different ROMs . Try the first solution first however....

i cant get the phone to stop rebooting long enough to do anything ive tried to do a factory reset and clear storage but all i get is an htc warning about development purposes
Can you get into the downloader? I'm prettysute you can access it by holding do the sleep/wake button and the volume button for about 30 seconds to a minute

Hold down the power button until the capacitive buttons start blinking (about 5 seconds). Keep holding it until the phone shuts off. The phone will be off for a few seconds, then reboot. While its off (screen and buttons dark), hold the volume down rocker. Don't release it until you see the white bootloader screen, you can factory reset from there, or go into recovery and do it.
solution
use cwm recovery reset everything(including data,system,cache..) ,switch to twrp and install any rom and see it working.it worked for me too(i had this problem).
i recently flashed New firmware 11.0.A.4.27 (http://d-h.st/nCu).. after few days me started to get some probs
1st the pics in gallery r blur and wen i try 2 set it as wallpaper using xperia gallery the app stops responding and closes
and wen i restart my phone sometime my phone automatically resends some mgs (the msg wic i sent to my frend days back wic got deliv to him) again to the same person ..and the app wic i updated recently also asks to update again (wic i did b4 restarting) after restart. i dont kw y it happens
and my phone becomes vulnerable, slows down a bit suddenly and takes time wen i try 2 open call log and also menu items..
and my ringer volume also changes often without my knowledge ..i kept it bit higher but it get reduced suddenly
wat might b the reason for all thes issues ?

Good morning - Well, except for the phone problem. Let me see if I can help you. It sounds like your dialer got messed up.
Some ideas:
Try clear data from dialer (Settings -> Application Manager -> All -> Phone -> Clear data) first, reboot recovery, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, reboot system.
Did you recently flash or make any modifications, even if you think they're unrelated? If you did, restore the backup you hopefully made before that mod.
Last resort but would work: dirty flash the ROM.
When I have the time, I try to go through Q&A threads and answer the ones with zero replies... Good luck.

I have jelly bean 4.1.2 and on my Phone Dialer app icon, the number of missed calls is not resetting though I've check all the missed calls from the logs. Its stuck with 1 miss call. Even though when I get 3 or 4 missed calls it still shows '1' on the Phone icon.
I've tried switching off and restarting the phone several times. I've tried clearing cache and clearing data of Phone app but still no Luck.
Can anybody please help me on this?
Try using a custom launcher
Or clear ur logs

I dont know what I did, either by deactivating a service or after an update to JB, I dont see any numbers on those icons after missing calls anymore, or when I get a msg on FB or sms.
How can I activate it again?
just got the solution, the service name is BadgeProvider. activating it solved my problem.
In case you want to refresh to start from 0, just delete the cache data there.
