Hello,
My S3 will not charge when the phone is off or on but will charge when in download/Odin mode. When the phone is plugged in the status says "Not Charging". When I was on 4.1 it keeps on giving me the error "battery disconnected". Once I moved over to 4.2 with the phone off the icon will appear as if its charging the phone but in reality it does not charge the phone.
Help, the only option for me at this point is to charge in download mode!!
I am really confused where the problem is. The phone is rooted and running a custom ROM, I already tried multiple ROMs and Stock but still the same problem. If I go back to 4.1 it starts the error "battery disconnected".
I have tried to connect it to the computer and the AC, the battery is original and so is the charger.
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys
I couldn't get an answer to my question in any topic, so I decided to post here and ask for help.
I bought a Galaxy 5 from my neighbor and I didn't test it 'cause it was with the battery discharged.
I charged the battery to 100% I tried to turn on my galaxy.
But every time I try to turn on the smartphone, It get stuck on a screen with samsung logo and with the text: "Ramdump mode (arm9 mode)".
I just tested it in 4 computers but everytime I connect the phone to usb it just starts to charge the battery.
I can enter in download mode to put a stock rom on it, but it doesn't help me so much 'cause if my phone isn't recognized in the PC and in Odin, I can't do nothing.
So that's the situation: My smartphone isn't recognized by the computer (windows don't at least show any message about usb device connected). When I plug it in usb it just starts to charge.
So I'm asking for help.
Is there any way to put a bootable android in my microSD that starts automaticlly the installation when I turn on the phone ?
Thanks
Anyone haver a solution for this problem?
The problem started a few days after flashingMegbyte Kernel r_4 on top of RR 5.5.8 on my 1.5 year old Moto X.
Here's what i did and what happened after that-:
-Kernel Auditor->Battery-> Enabled "Fast Charging over USB"->Apply on boot (Wasn't available in stock Kernel)
- Worked fine for a day or so
-Phone starts to misbehave. I plugged the usb cable, but it used to take a few seconds for actually start charging
-The ROM becomes unstable
-I switched off my phone and plugged the charger. The motorola "Bootloader Unlocked" warning shows up. It shows that big battery indicator, but then switches off automatically. The process repeats and this keeps happening until i don't unplug the charger or force boot.
-Meanwhile, when my phone is turned on, and i plug in the charger, sometimes it shows the charging indication in statues bar, but when i got Settings-> Battery, it shows that it isn't charging.(Can't post any link to screenshot yet ._.)
-Sometimes, when i plugged in the charger, the phone didn't show any indication or charged
(MY CABLE AND CHARGER IS COMPLETELY FINE. USED ON OTHER PHONES)
-I thought it was the ROM's fault, so i flashed CM 12.1
-I am on CM now and still facing the problem
-I've tried callibrating the battery, no luck!
-My computer detects that theres a device when my phone is connected via USB, but cant detect what device it is. I've downloaded Motorola USB drivers. The computer did detect which device i was using but only for a minute or so.
I am in need of help and your help would be appreciated! :]

Hi all please help me resolve this issue. The issue is My lg g2 D800 is not charging. I still got 30% of battery left. everything is working normally. There is no problem with any other functionality. also the battery is draining normally. I did a factory reset but that didn't solve the issue. but when i totally shut down the phone and connect the usb it shows that it charging in shut down mode but its take like 5 hours to charge 4%. I also can go download mode by pressing and hold vol+ and connecting usb to the pc but i cant find my phone in download mode. also in normal mode USB cant find my phone.
only the phone shows the red notification of charging when i shut it down but normally it's charging in a super snail mode. i tried different cable and charger that works perfectly with other phone.
should i replace the charging port? or is there any voltage regulator that is damage? in that case i might change the whole motherboard. I thought of resetting the phone to kitkat using the lg flashing tool that i normally use to jump from 20c to 20y then to lollipop but since i cant find my phone in download mode i cant even try that. I did rooted my phone previously but now i am using lollipop without rooting.
thanks in advance for any helpful suggestion.
I have this problem too. . .are you got a solution?
Hello there everyone, hope you guys are doing great. Well, this thread might be a bit stupid at first since many others might have posted something related to it but since I couldn't find the exact answer, I had to post a newer thread.
I have a Fire Phone which used to run great and perfect and I had been using it the other day while charging it with an Aspor Powerbank which does run great. The Fire Phone got stuck due to a few NOT FOR THE FIRE PHONE apps such as the Instagram and the rest. When stuck, I held the power button for 10-15 seconds to do a reset and it did work while it was still on charging. Now the phone wouldn't turn on without the AC power via the USB. It gets stuck in a boot-loop. Just shows the Amazon logo and restarts again. Nothing works at all, not even the recovery mode or the rest or even resets without the USB plugged in.
I did try to upgrade but was of no use at all, did try the Cynogen OS by flashing it in. It didn't work at all and the same issue persists. I have removed the battery and plugged it back in but again of no use. The battery does charge if you think it's the battery, The battery does stay there active and great. I did try changing the USB cable and the Adapter. Nothing!
One more thing, when plugged in to AC, I can go to the Recovery Mode and then remove the USB cable, the Recovery Mode does stay active on battery power for countless hours. What should I do?
Is it the USB port? Is the battery? Or is it just me?
Oh btw, I did try installing the Stock Update available on Amazon.com and the PC (Windows 8 64-bit) does recognize the phone on ADB mode. Does list the serial of the phone when connected but when side-loading an update via the ADB, it says that it doesn't read! Gives an error. How do I work on that? I did try installing the ADB drivers again but still nothing. Did try downloading the updates from other sites and even a downgraded file, nothing works. What should I do?
Hi,
yesterday i replaced the mainboard of my g955f. After that i rooted the phone and flashed a newer stock rom with odin. I didn't like the rom and tried to install an older one. But because of the newer bootloader version of the installed stock rom i got a FAIL in odin after hitting the start button. Then i disconnected the phone, downloaded a newer stock rom and flashed it via odin without any problems. But since then my g955f shows some strange power charging behavior:
1. When i turn it off and plug in the usb charger then the download (odin) mode comes up and it doesn't charge. But i can exit the download mode via power+vol. down and the phone restarts and boots up normally. Everything else works and looks normally, too (booting into twrp, connecting to pc via usb, turn phone on without usb connection etc.). It also doesn't charge when i plug in the cable and turn it off.
2. I can only charge my phone when i restart it, wait until the homescreen appears and then plugin the cable. If i would wait until the lockscreen/standby-screen shows up or i put it into standby and then plug in the cable it won't charge. Furthermore it wont charge after i charged and unplugged it, put it into standby and then plug it in again. But if i avoid standby/lockscreen after unpluging and plug it in again, then it charges.
I have already tried other stock and custom roms but the behavior is the same. Because of the working usb connection to the pc and the ability to charge (under special circumstances) i don't think that the problem is hardware-related. To me it seems like a file/software/firmware-problem. I guess that standby and shutdown set some status information/flags that prevent the phone from charging.
Have you any idea what i can do to fix the problem?
