Push notifications - seemingly all apps not working? - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can I get some ideas? It seems all apps I use which have push notifications, like mail droid, friend caster, text plus, are no longer pushing, but opening these apps will update them normally. I've tried clearing all cache from twrp , reinstalling one of the troubled apps, disabling adaway, no help. Its got to be a stupid setting. Anyone got an idea here?

-check the apps' settings
-go to App Info and see if "Show notifications" is checked

I discovered it was the guest WiFi network I was on. When I got home to my internet, all was well. Weird. Thanks for the reply.

disable ASUS keyboard

I believe there was a way to uncheck ASUS keyboard and just have the default android keyboard. However, that option is greyed out for me. In fact, now both android and ASUS are greyed out and can't be unselected.
I have installed a bunch of keyboards which I think what caused this issue. I also updated to 3.1 so I'm not sure what caused this or I am dreaming and that option was always greyed out.
Can somebody please check input methods and verify if they can be checked off. If true, what can I do to disable ASUS keyboard?
Thanks!
I would also like to find a way to uncheck one of those keybards (though I would like to keep the Asus keyboard and deselect the android default one).
I'm using Asus eee pad Slider (sl101)
thanks

YouTube app totally borked on Transformer

Anyone else seeing a problem where the YouTube app is totally borked on the Asus Transformer when it's docked? Type something into the search and press the spacebar, and it seems to scroll the page rather the type a space...
bizzare...

I have the same problem, and no not touching anything except the space bar.
I have just been pressing the search button on the dock when I'm looking stuff up on youtube. The space bar works fine that way til someone finds a way to fix it.

WORK-AROUND: click the youtube logo at screen top/left and use the search box on the home screen instead, as that one isn't affected by the typing bug.
I have the same problem. Thanks for the tip.

[Q] Clock/time problems

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing clock/time issues?
My infinity taskbar clock will occasionally get stuck at a certain time (i.e. 4:28 is stuck right now) and other times will continue to work but show the wrong time. Other times it shows the correct time. The clock on the asus options panel will show a different time than the taskbar, or show the right time.
Anyway, the time is always correct in the settings > date/time menu. I have tried changing from auto time/no sync, asus panel/normal panel, etc but I still experience problems with the clock.
I doubt it is a hardware problem because in the settings menu (and it apps that grab the time) it is always correct. It just displays incorrectly (or pauses for hours at a time) on the taskbar and the pop-up menu.
Anyone else ever experience anything similar? I am eagerly awaiting the bootloader unlocking tool that will open up all of the awesome custom roms, adding functionality and fixing things ^.^
No clock problems here -- have you tried clearing cache/data on the asus clock app? What about a factory reset (I know, I hate them too)?
Yes, I have the same bug and it's very frequent... I'm not sure but I think it occurs when I use the "One-Click clean" button of the task manager widget.
Do you use this button?

hm... yes I have the widget on my home screen, and I use it often. I will test this and see if that's whats causing the problem.
Thanks for commenting! I will post back my findings...

Solved: How to disable notification about docking and sd card

Just got my docking, but I se now that everytime I use the docking I get a notification that stays in the tray informing me that I'm using the docking. Also I get the notification that a sd card is present and when I turn the device on from sleeping I get the notification that it is preparing the sd card for use.
Is this normal and is there any way to turn them of?

Try this, and see if it works.
1. go to Settings -> Asus Customized Settings-> uncheck "Use ASUS Quick Setting" -> exit
2. Bring up the notification menu (tap bottom right corner where the time and wifi signal is) -> tap the settings button under the time -> Turn Notification off -> tap settings at the bottom -> go back to Asus Customized Settings and turn on the Quick Settings. -> Exit
I now do not have the docking icon or the external drive icon, only the time, wifi signal and the power icons.

Right now it's starting to be a little bit annoying. Now i have 3 notifications. 2 for sd cards, and one informing me that my tablet is connected to my docking..
Hmm.. thank for informing me. I was starting to wonder what i was typing on..
Do a little (re)search on the Prime in such cases, the firmware is very similar to Prime's. Try this:

Just curious - why are you even setting that option? My understanding is that it will just limits how many apps you can multitask with (could be wrong though).

I would also like to know why this option keeps getting reset on power down/up.
My reason, if you require a reason, which you shuoldn't really, is wanting to control the amount of tasks on the machine. If they have the option available, it shouldn't have to be re-enabled each boot.
Could be wrong here.
Aren't certain developer settings only available for rooted devices?

From just messing around with it, it seems that if enabled, the setting does restrict the amount of processes.. it just doesn't carry over on reboot.
Which would be a very cool built in auto task killer, in my opinion.
Its a bit frustrating to have to continually re-check the option.
I just installed the most recent firmaware update though so I'll see if it sticks now.
This option doesn't stick on any android device I've used. Didn't stick on the original Samsung Galaxy, Nexus S, Asus TF101 or Galaxy S3.
Just assumed this is by design.

I did a cold reboot yesterday, the 4 processes maximum setting remained enabled...

Because for many, it prevents random reboots. It also means you don't have to constantly clean out the background processes when launching something heavy. Let's face it, you're not going to multitask whilst playing a bluray or heavy game.
