I'm on md3 and it sucks, so I was wondering since I made a nandroid of mb1 should I dirty flash it, and is there a way to get the apk for multi window and the new gallery to add to the previous?

No your phone will just bootloop abd you can't restore a nandroid without it wiping because a nandroid will wipe your current setup. Just use a custom rom many rom's on here have mulitwindow and note 2 gallery that are on mb1. You can't just pull out the apk for mulitwindow it's not that easy it requires framework modifications.. Lots of it.

Hey guys. What is the easiest way to get rid of all the bloatwear and unwanted apps that came with this phone? I've tried the Root Explorer method but the apps are still there. What can I do?

+1. That's what I did at first. I've now moved onto the JMT rom.
Use Titanium Backup, you can uninstall just about anything, and because you can uninstall just about anything you want to make sure you know what you are deleting is non-essential.

After restoring all of my apps through titanium backup on a new rom, the phone (mostly the launcher and UI) lag quite a bit. Is this just because there are more apps on the phone or is there a problem somewhere within my backup files?

To do a test reinstall the rom and then all the apps from market as opposed to titanium. That will tell you what's wrong I bet. Do restore just app or data too?'

I have been restoring app+data on everything except games. I reinstall those and then restore data. I will try doing it one by one later to see if that changes anything

Try fixing permissions in your recovery. Usually under advanced options. See if that doesn't help.

I always fix permissions when I install a new rom. Are you saying I should fix permissions after I restore my apps? That would make sense

i've seen this mentioned before for performance issues -- just curious, but why would fixing permissions solve this? I always thought force-closes were usually the symptom of messed-up permissions.
I just installed CR 5.0 and I selected some bloat that I don't want any more in aroma. I I can't get rid of it anymore. Is it possible to rerun it? I do I have to re flash?

You can just wipe caches and reflash ROM. You'll have all your data but not the bloat you don't want.
Or use something like titanium backup to just uninstall the bloat you don't want.

Thanks for the quick reply but I have a very nooby question. How do you use titanium to backup and restore. I thought I new how to do it but It ended up not working. I saved my backup to my sdcard and tried to restore right from there. Any help on what to do is appreciated.

Just use a file manager or titanium Backup and delete the bloat that u don't want

I have titanium backup and it worked fine but suddenly as of a couple of days ago whenever I backup everything, then wipe my data and flash a new rom, I go to restore my settings and it says that there is noting to restore. I was wondering if there was a way to fix this or if there is a better way to backup. Thanks in advance.

Did you happen to flash a rom that wipes? There's one in here that does. I believe it's Rally stock.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
The roms that I flashed so far that have done this are I believe cm 10.1 and synergy. Those are also the last 2 roms I flashed. And the first 2 it did this to.

I created a update.zip using TB. I transferred the zip to my pc and was trying to figure out where my backed up sms would be. Just trying to learn, thanks.

Depends what ROM your running, if its touchwiz, it'll be under system/app and its named- Sec.MMS.apk, asop will be MMS.apk, unless your talking about the actual messages, if so, TB doesn't always save the data so u may not be able to gt the back up messages,

I am running TW, I made sure to save save app and user data. So if I replaced the mms apk I possibly could recover the messages? Worst case I get a FC and put original back?
