Does anyone know if there is an easy way to reinstall the sense ui launcher after install viperdna rom? I checked to remove it, but now I realize that if I want the HTC weather lock screen with the unread counts I need that launcher back.
I can always just reinstall viperdna, i'd just rather not.
thanks

Hey everyone...just thought of an idea since I'd like a non-sense ROM and a custom launcher such as ADW or LauncherPro.
I wanted to create a ROM with the system version of ADW.Launcher (http://jbthemes.com/anderweb/2010/06/adw-launcher-0-8-5-released/) as the DEFAULT launcher and without the Sense launcher (free up some space and RAM). I'm wondering if it would be as easy as deleting Rosie.apk and Sense widgets and adding in the system version of ADW or what.
Any suggestions or help from ROM devs and other brilliant individuals would be greatly appreciated as Sense can be sometimes difficult to work with. Thanks in advance.
I believe that there is a signed zip form of that that you can flash and it completely replaces launcher 2 so ya could get one of the roms with sense mostly stripped out then flash that without wiping

I know but I don't even want Rosie or any of the Sense widgets, just wastes space/RAM

Rosie and all the widgets have been deleted in all non sense builds on here

I would love to see this too. Most of the non sense builds of roms though removed and broke other aspects of the rom.
I did some XDA searching and some Google searching and no firm answer was located...
I know that the Sense ROMS on Froyo and GB with their applicable Sense apps are wholely dependent on the Sense framework.apk. I was wondering if this also applies to the Sense Messaging app mms.apk?
I am currently running a MIUI 1.4.22 ROM and I really like the Sense messaging app over the MIUI stock, GB stock, CM7 stock, Handscent, Chomp, etc messaging apks.
Before I try to install a GB Sense mms.apk on my HTC DZ to replace the stock MIUI mms.apk which will likely result into boot loop after boot loop, and invariably screw up, was wondering is anyone has tried to do the same WITH SUCCESS?
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, any HTC app will require HTC's framework..this applies to the phone app, contacts, calender, friend stream, the Sense widgets, etc. I haven't tried to do this myself, but I could only guess it applies to the mms.apk also. Although, I don't think it will put you in bootloop if you tried and it failed, probably would just FC. For it to work with CM7 or MIUI framework I think it would need to be ported.
hey friends i am pratyushashu here i want to know something that can we get only only ics theme full theme by default without go launcher adw launcher or any theme launcher everything like ics lock screen ,settings, everything like icecream sandwich execpt functions
I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but yes there are quite complete themes for most of the launchers.
However, if you are referring to an entire OS skin, then it will depend on your device and perhaps someone has made a custom ROM with an ICS skin for your phone.
You mean ICS rom for your device?
Me want too. But too impossible for my device..
But you can using ICS-like Custom Rom..

Also I would need a complete theme for my htc hero. Any advice?
I suggest these
--Go launcher
--Go launcher ics theme by kovdev
--WidgetLocker with ICS lockscreen
--PowerAmp
[--go SMS, go contacts and go search] apply ICS All in one theme by dcmobile to these
Perfect. I used these before I rooted
Go Launcher is pretty good with the ICS skin. Although it doesn't do it for the actual dial pad when making a phone call. It skins the app drawer and desktop. I ended up getting the SKYICS 4.2 rom for my GS2 LTE and love it.
I like it lot better than touchwiz. Also the official ICS update from Samsung for their Galaxy S2 is a lot like gingerbread so much so that its difficult to tell you have even upgraded the operating system.

Flash a custom ROM for your phone! It's quite easy and imo the devs here tweak the firmware VERY well!
But many ics are bugged

Apex is only for 4.0+
i prefer nova launcher
Holo Launcher is probably the best ICS launcher ive used. As for the other apps, you can probably find themed versions somewhere on the market that are really nicely themed. But if there's a ROM for the Hero that's ICS themed, I would love to know.

Hi! I'm on the Official Android ICS with Sense 3.6 update and the standard Sense Launcher restarts itself when I'm pressing the Home-button. I read a couple of other threads saying that turning off the Fast Boot option would fix it, but it don't work. Do you have any idea?
Edit: Sorry for posting in wrong section...
Edit 2: I've also flashed this mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1699591
Yea this is normal since the phone is really bloated with stock rom... Theres just too many things running on the background and sometimes the device shutsdown some running process like sense to free up some RAM... Atleast that was the situation on mine....

Root and flash ARHD. Has a nice mod that forces launcher in Ram if you should run out.
You can also try Ram Manager free from the market. There is a checkbox to keep launcher in memory. Works for me when I was getting Sense restarts.
Is there anyway to install the launcher and app drawer from the newer ICS sense roms either as an apk or a flash?
Short answer: No
