Touchscreen not working - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had my screen protector on, the touchscreen and then I took off my screen protector and it was grimy and dirty, so I used a little bit of dish soap and water to wipe it, and after I did, the touchscreen didn't work, help? The phone is responding but it's just the touchscreen doesn't work. Help, please, it's my sister's phone.

My touchscreen became silly

Yesterday after I took out my touch pro from my pocket something happened. My touch screen didn't work. I don't know why.
I thought a flex/ribbon cable don't connect so I took apart it. Everything was right. I removed the Digitizer ( plastic over the T.screen) and tried out the screen it didn't work. I inserted the Digitizer back the phone feels my touch but isn't there where I touch.
So what can be wrong? Digitizer can cause this problem because of scratches?
I hope you understood my problem and you can help me. I am not an English man.
Uh, did you try screen alignment after replacing the digitizer? I can't imagine that it'll work still after taking off the digitizer and replacing it. I'd probably say best to just replace the entire display.
I tried screen alignment with a new rom. After that I had known
it is a hardware problem. But I don't know the touchscreen or the digitizer is wrong.

[Q] No Oleophobic Coating?

When I got the nexus s a couple of weeks ago it was just fine but now the screen just feels hard to swipe on if I have mildly moist/sweaty hands. It also happens when I apply pressure on the screen
My question is why is the screen so hard to swipe on is my oleophobic coating wiped off? Or is every nexus s just like that?
The thing is it becomes hard to just swipe sometimes because it feels like an effort everytime I move my hand across the screen.
Just for info I never put on a screen protector on this phone
It's perfectly normal, moisture doesn't play nicely with the coating.

Touch issues after screen replacement...look here

(There's plenty of guides to help you replace your screens out there...so I would redo one of those.)
Ive replaced a few of these S3 screens with new glass and the double sided tape method and the only issue that always happens is that the glass will touch the digitizer in the middle once in awhile. This registers a touch that is stuck on and locks up the rest of the touch screen. The only work around is pressing on the glass around the outside of the lcd to release the unwanted touch. Tonight I discovered a great method for curing that problem. I removed the glass and cleaned up very well. Then applied a cut down screen protector for a LG spectrum to underside of the glass to bridge the gap between the glass and the digitzer. (The spectrum protectors was big enough to trim down to the right size) Retaped and assembled. This has worked perfect to correct and the screen looks great! Make sure to buy a screen protector that is clear. A protector that is anti-glare would dim the display. With the clear you cant tell its there. The touch screen acts like new. Very happy with the results!!

interesting. i have recently replaced my S3 with the prokit from amazon, but had occasional touch issues like you described. i might try this. to be clear, with the screen protector, do you still need to apply any adhesive between screen and digitizer?

No you do not need adhesive/loca between ur screen and digitizer. BTW I've went down that road with using the adhesive...not very fun. The UV glue method is tough to apply correctly. That is why I was experimenting with the under glass screen protector method.
One more add on to my description of adding the screen protector between glass and digitizer is doubling up on the double sided tape around the perimeter. I wanted to make sure I got the tape high enough to bridge the slightly larger gap between the glass/digitizer due to the screen protector. Hope this helps.
maybe not the perfect solution....
The wifes phone that I tried this fix on is working awesome. She said it hasnt had one issue since. But I've tried this method on two other S3 without the same sucess. Both were the US Cellular verisons of the phone (wifes is Verizon), and both still had touch screen lockups. So had to redo with the LOCA replacement method to cure issues. Just FYI...

Wife dropped phone in toilet, but seems to be working except touch screen?

Hey guys,
My wife dropped her S6 into the toilet and I can't see any visible water damage, like water under the screen, camera, etc. The moisture indicator inside the sim card area is white. It charges and runs fine, but the touch screen isn't working properly. It only registers some touches and gets confused like the finger stays on the screen even though it was just a tap. After a soft reset, the touch seems completely dead now.
Are there any tricks to getting the digitizer to work again? Is it possible the water didn't have any effect on the touch screen and is just a red herring?
