Simple Mobile APN HTC One S - Works! - HTC One S

Had to do a factory wipe on my kind-of-stock One S. Tried all APN settings on the SM website but had no mms or data and kept getting APN error notices. Spent an 2 hours on the phone 3 times with Simple Mobile tech support. They were worthless. Flamed them on FB and after 2 emails was sent the APN data below. Applied it and device works perfectly again. Interesting that the APN is accessing Cingular authentication severs...
APN Name: Straight Talk
APN: att.mvno
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: 66.209.11.33
MMS Port: 80
Save from Menu and select the new APN then power your phone off and on. Worked for me just fine. Hope it does for you!

[HELPFUL ADVICE] Working MMS on custom ROMS with correct APN settings

OK, so after some work(and luck) I think I have the APN settings for the Inspire figured out for those that are using custom ROM's. Here is my step by step guide to get it all working. Data, MMS, all work great like this for me on CM7 and others.
1. Boot into your favorite custom ROM.
2. Go to Settings, then Wireless and Network, then choose Mobile Network, then APN settings (YMMV, ROMS can differ, but the actual APN screens are the same once you get there)
3. Check what APN you have already. If your name is "phone" and there is no wap.cingular, go to step 3a. If you have wap.cingular and no "phone" as name, go to step 3b.
3a. Create new APN (menu key, new APN) The Name field can be MMS, or AT&T or whatever. The following are the settings that have yet to fail me(the password is CINGULAR1):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Once entered and saved, go to your other APN and verify mms is NOT listed under it.
3b: Create new APN named MediaNET(rename other if needed, this MAY not be necessary, but it is what I did) and set it up as follows: APN: phone; APN Type: "default, supl". Menu button - Save. Change APN Type on other APN to "mms". Menu button - Save.That's it for this one. Once done, the new APN should be the only selectable one.
4. Enjoy.
The final settings should look lime the following:
Name: MediaNet
APN: phone
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC:
MMS proxy:
MMS port:
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 410

MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS port: 80
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: None
APN type: mms
So.. you lost me. I have one APN with the following settings:
Name: AT&T
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: <not set>
Port: <not set>
Username: WAP.CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Server: <not set>
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS port: 80
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: <not set>
APN type: mms
This gives me MMS and calling features but no internet obviously. What settings do I use to make the correct APN to get the internet to work? I just want to make sure I have everything exactly correct so I resolve this problem.

Yes, it gives you two, and no, the default info in the MediaNET APN is all you need.
I reset to default APN, it made one for me and I made another. Now I have two APN's... The first is the default, second is the one I made for mms.

Well... I set everything to that EXACTLY and on Auto GSM/WCDMA it worked. Then I restared my phone and its back to the same old crap. Only works in GSM only. I'm ready to take this thing out back and put a few rounds in it with my .45
Now it works. Hmm. 871kbps down/609kbps up. I'm thinking it's just AT&T's network having issues.

No mobile data stuck on GSM
I am having this same kine problem.. last night edge and Hspa stopped working.. I spent an hour talkin to an att specialist and he could not help..I changed my apn settings.. nothing phone wont go past GSM... no edge no hspa nothing...
If this keeps up then imma have to take it back and get a new one.. sucks cuz i'll have to root again and it was a pain in the butt last time ..
I have no idea what happened
Went down the street where there is better signal and it started jumpin on EDGE and HSPA... so I don't know if its a weak antenna in the phone on or a weak signal from At&t
I fixed my problem with the hinky switchover from wifi to 3g/4g by adding a second apn by choosing 'reset to default' which created a new one named MMS/wap.cingular.

Tmobile mms

Does anyone have the apn settings for tmobile? I can't find them and so far the phone can receive but not send
Theses are the settings I am using on T-Mobile US, and they work great. In my case I had to get GoSMS and manually add the User Agent and UA Prof before my MMS would come through where they could be seen.

T-Mobile - US APN settings

Mods if you think this should be in a different location feel free to move it. Also I'd like to see a sticky APN thread, because apparently google is too hard to use.
I thought I'd post this because it comes up alot and there isn't a single place this information sits(as far as I could found in my searches). Also I have to find them all over again when it comes up. So here it is.
The KB from T-Mobile:

Name: T-Mobile
APN: epc.tmobile.com or fast.t-mobile.com (for LTE devices)
Proxy: <Not set>

MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Not set>
APN type: default,supl,admin,dun,mms <-- Specified for MT4G otherwise --> <Not Set> OR Internet+MMS (depending on software version)
If you find yourself not able to send MMS messages it is most likely because the proxy,port,username,password fields are not <Not Set>. Just tap these values and delete any information in them. I always restart but not always necessary.
Some people enter 216.155.165.50 for the MMS Proxy and 8080 for MMS Port I have never had to and am not exactly why these values might be needed but try them if the T-Mobile settings don't work.
thx
just what I was looking for :good:

I wonder if these settings might help S3 phones get LTE :/
I have been trying to get an ATT GS2 - I777 that is rooted and unlocked running on tmobile to accept and receive photos with texts for a week with no luck. I have used the settings provided by T-Mobile with no luck. I am running ICS though and it has a couple different settings. Any idea if that is what is causing it not to work. I can send regular text fine but it dies if you try to send or receive an image. Sending an image shows sending and it never goes. If I try to send from another carrier to this phone it comes back with a failed message in about 5 minutes.

First I have Use Packet Data and Data Roaming checked.
Then I got to APNs
There is NO MMS protocol listed
APN Type shows Internet+MMS+SUPL or each listed individually.
Then APN Protocol is IPv4 or IPv6 or both together.
APN Protocol when roaming also shows IPv4 or IPv6 or both together.
Then APN enabled has a grayed out check box that I can't select. Shows APN enabled.
Last is bearer - LTE or eHRPD or Unspecified.

Well I would keep it ipv4. If you can leave any extra settings blank do that. Definitely use APN.
Have you tried leaving everything blank or "not set" except for the servers? The MMS issue is definitely your APN settings.

I've seen this happen often with areas of poor or slow network coverage. If the coverage is full 4g try rebooting the phone that helps sometimes

As far as I know, you have to have mobile data in order to receive MMS(picture messages) for SMS (text message) you only need network. Message can't be sent or received via Wi-Fi.

There's an article out there that follows the entire messaging cycle. To my knowledge, which may be wrong, Android routes all messages through the radio. So that if you have Wi-Fi on and your radio off, none of your messages will send until your GSM radio is on and has connected to a network.

Sure. When I say Radio I mean the GSM wireless radio, which is responsible for the wireless communication between your phone and the service provider's cell towers. And, to my knowledge, all messaging is sent and received through the cellular (GSM) radio through your cellular carrier (T-Mobile in this case.) As for MMS I was under the impression that went through the data network connection and SMS was handled just with the mobile network (Voice call etc...) Make sure your messaging plan includes SMS, if it does contact the carrier (T-Mobile) and make sure they haven't messed anything up. (maybe not phrase it quite like that) but inquire to make sure it is all good on their side.
