Glass screen protector that fits UAG? - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

What are the glass screen protectors that fit the S4 UAG case? I'm planning to get a Spigen Glass.t to go with it. However, I see some people say that it does not fit.
Edit: Bought Spigen Glas.T nano slim. Fits UAG case. Pictures below. Apologise in advance, due to the poor camera quality and dusty phone.
Cables used: HTC Charging cable (roughly same size as S4 cable), Original earpiece that came with S4.

Pictures of phone(with Spigen Glas.T Nano slim) in UAG case.
Pictures of camera, speaker and connector parts.
Pictures of cables connected to phone.
My thoughts on both of the item:
Spigen Glas.T Nano Slim
- Amazingly thin, not much difference in thickness when compared to plastic screen protector
- Damnnn smooth!! Best surface of screen protector ever!
- Touch seems normal. Doesn't seem to be affected by it.
- Display looks alot more clearer and nicer!
- Edge of screen protector are "sharp". It actually "scrape" a little when I was using the phone with a soft cover. (That's why you can see that there's dust at the edge)
UAG Case
- Looks cool and seem to have some protection.
- Kind of hard to take out or put on the case. (Might be a good thing)
- Sounds from speaker doesn't get blocked completely. Actually it kind of sound loud and clear.
- Ports fits connectors. (Not sure why most review says it doesn't fit)
- Phone looks a little bigger, feels a little heavier(Just add a tiny big of weight)
- Camera doesn't get into direct contact with surface.
- Buttons might be a little harder to press, as compared to an S4 with no cover.(Obviously)
- Volume up/down buttons are a little hard to differentiate.
UAG and Spigen Glas.T Nano slim Combo
- Screen protector fits.
- There's still abit of lip left at the side.Lips at top and bottom of case are actually bigger than the sides.

I haven't heard anyone mention one not working with the UAG. I currently have a UAG and I have the MIME glass and it's no problem.

MIME glass for s4 currently unavailable.

See my post today in the Glass Screen Protectors thread. MIME is days away from a new design of their S4 glass, so they've probably cut off shipping the old one for the next few days.

Thanks for notifying me. Was about to get some other glass protector. I'll wait for the new MIME glass screen protector.

It fits fine I just didn't align it right. I alighted it slightly too much to the right and high. Not 3 in a pack to mess with. Got to get it right the first shot bc once it was down it I could not simply pull it up to readjust. Adhesive was that strong. So I just left it.

How much lip is there left? Will the screen protector be of the same height as the cover once its pasted? Can the lip cover the screen protector?

The lip of the case does not cover the screen protector. The screen protector fits perfectly inside the lining of the case lip. There is no overlapping

Seems like it could be easiest to get it lined up by installing the screen protector with the case already on the phone? I haven't installed one but maybe you have some thoughts on that since you have?

I asked someone else that and it was recommended against. I think that it's not a good idea because your screen protector installation needs to be a very quick process so that dust doesn't get in there, and if you DO run into a problem with the case, you're screwed while you hurry to take it off. I guess you could always take the screen protector with the protective films still on it and see if it lays down in there with the case on.

I dun think other spigen glass screen protector might fit. The uag case overlaps the spigen glas.t nano

I am using the GLAS.tR SLIM with the Otterbox Defender.I removed the built in screen protector and it fits good.Might be a little snug for some people but it seems to work fine.

Google Nexus 4 Screen Protector Steinheil Dual

Just a heads up for any fellow SGP fans. They now have a crystal clear protector for the front AND back of the N4. i really wish they had an ultra eleophobic version, but i've used the crystal clear on my e4gt and have been extremely satisfied with the quality of the product. clarity is crystal clear just like the name states, and its very durable.

Do these cover the entire screen?
Do these have the cutouts for the sensors and Why do these other ones have such bad reviews?

I think the front only covers the screen areas not the curved parts. The back since its flat might be fully covered

guess the complaints come from people who bought it early.
SGP has stated that they now include the proximity sensor cutout for all their N4 screen protectors.
Bought the dual protector and will see if its good. been holding off for too long to let the companies iron out the creases
these do have the proximity sensor cutout. it doesnt cover the front completely due to the curved glass, the following is a review of the oleophobic protector on a One X which also has curved glass. the reviewer points it out at about 1:50. I actually dont mind it, and it isnt even noticeable. only way you're going to get one that covers the entire screen is if its a wet application protector. but the quality/feel of wet apply protectors is just not for me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcV0AJzNC4U
No SGP protector completely covers the front screen. They are cut too short all around and do NOT extend to cover the area just before the curved glass and the curved portion itself.
There was also massive issue with the proximity sensors malfunctioning due to SGP. They have allegedly "revised" it but no telling if you get stuck with some old stock.
Personally, I've owned and dealt with SGP. Too many negatives with their product and too many other better choices to be bothered buying from them anymore. I can't recommend them but good luck to those that do buy.
Note: If you want a screen protector that covers the ENTIRE SCREEN including the curved edges with cutouts for Proximity censors and camera, I highly recommend Skinomi.

Do you have the Skinomi protector installed? If so, how does the screen feel and does it work with a case?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
I got the SGP before they fixed it, no cut out so the phone was a pain to use, also if you do not get the screen protector exactly in the center of the screen one side tends to lift due to the stiffness of the film. I sent mine back and ordered a Skinomi, should have that tomorrow.
Funny as my Spigen does not have the proximity cutout, only the camera and everything functions as it should.

Yes, I've had my Skinomi on for over a week (front & back).
The screen protector adds a tiny bit of grip which is great for keeping it from sliding off surfaces. It's not sticky like I've found some other screen protectors like Zagg but it's not as butter smooth as the naked screen, as to be expected!
My fingers glide smoothly over the screen with no noticeable drag. So far it feels great. Again, not as good as the naked glass but almost.

I ordered the oleophobic screen protector for my N4 (which I'm still waiting for from Google) and found out I did not receive the revised one. A quick email to them ended up in me receiving a second set for free days later without needing to return the ones I already have
I find Skinomi and most wet application screen protectors to easily form imprints and wrinkles that don't "heal" perfectly after a while, although still not bad. Just received an XOSkins full body kit from their Cyber Monday sale which I'll compare to the Skinomi one on my iPod Touch. I'm also getting the bumper, so the lack of full coverage on the SGP really doesn't affect me.
I just got my oleophobic and although it seems to be recommended by everyone, it got scratched from day one. Never had the same problem with Zagg or others. Conclusion: I wouldnt recommend SPIGEN! Sounds fancy - "olephobic"- but doesn't actually protect or fit as well as others.

Oleophobic coatings are always softer than glass. By ordering that one, you essentially chose fingerprint resistance over scratch resistance. Glass with oleophobic coatings is also more prone to scratches because the coating itself scratches or wears down with use. Ask anyone with an iPhone 4.
If you want scratch resistance, get a harder screen protector (like the Ultra Crystal).
i would be looking forward to have this skin compared to the XOskin protector. I've used XO skins before and they are great! but i wonder how this does when they are side by side

today i got my screen protector in the mail so i thought i'd share because SGP has done something i haven't seen companies do for a while in regards to Android devices [that i've owned, anyway]...
there are cutouts for the earpiece and home button. yep, you read right. there are cutouts.

nice. i opted for just clear. the SGP rep said it would have the highest hardness rating of them all. i wanted to make sure i wouldn't get little dents on the screen protector from accidentally tapping with a fingernail or etc.
may end up getting one of the glass ones just to check it out
Don't most screen protectors have cut outs? And I was able to get a free one when ordering the Neo Hybrid. I currently have one on my Nexus 4 and they're great screen protectors. You can easily go six months or maybe longer without having to replace them.

Yeah the Ultra Crystal does have the hardest rating. I have used them before on my iPhone and Nexus 4. I got the Oleophobic one to reduce fingerprints and smudges. I was looking at the Glas.t screen protector too but since its a 1 time fit, I will probably end up f*ing it up and getting angry!
I had the Ultra Nano and Ultra Crystal on my S3. The Ultra Nano had oleophobic resistance but it got scratched up in weeks because of the 2H hardness rating from Spigen. The Ultra Crystal didn't get scratched at all, but it seemed to really degrade the image quality much more, and the fingerprints accumulated really quickly. I'm hopeful that the Ultra Oleophobic will be the perfect one with a 3-4H rating.

no, they don't always. the S3 didn't on most. the Galaxy Nexus didn't on most. i think the S2 did.
in particular, SGP did not have cutouts. on my S3 sitting in front of me i have an SGP Oleo and it does not go all the way around the home button and earpiece.

i was thinking the same thing about the Glass.t. if you mess up, though, you can send it back and they'll send you a new one. just means you might not have anything on your phone for a little while unless you have a spare lying around.

this. so much this. i didn't know how to explain this, so thanks. but yes, i have a ~2H rating on my S3. it's a Nano. it has little dents in the screen protector all over. you can tap the screen lightly with a finger nail and it'll do that to it
the Ultra Crystal is totally clear so it shouldn't degrade the image unless you meant because of finger prints. i wipe my phone off from time to time already so it shouldn't be a problem. i'd like to know how you're liking the Ultra Oleo when you get it in. thanks!
I had the Ultra Oleo on my Galaxy Note 1 but it still smudged and scratched too easily.
Gonna go for the Ultra Crystal this time and hoping for the best.

How is the fit and finish of the ultra crystal? Any image degradation? Any complaints?
Any chance we can get those after pic too
I'd like to know as well. I'm particularly interested in the image clarity. I bought the Ultra Fine...while the anti-fingerprint matte finish is EXTREMELY impressive the image degradation is not. So it looks like I'm back on the hunt for a new screen protector.
in sgs2 with ultra crystal almost no image degration if any at all.

yeah any time you get a Matte protector, there's going to be a good amount of image degradation. this isn't a Matte protector so there shouldn't be any even though i believe the description says there is. it should be totally transparent on the phone.

I got my Ultra Crystal on Friday and applied it. So far I'm perfectly happy with it as the fit is spot on. As far as image quality......WOW! I had not viewed the screen on phone without the Ultra Fine protector as I put it on directly out of the box before I even put the battery in.
Needless to say the Ultra Crystal truly showed me how beautiful this screen is. The jury is out on how tough the protector is. I'm a pocket guy so I should know in about a month.
Can anyone that has installed this screen protector see if it interferes with any of the sensors/gestures/etc? I noticed it doesn't have cutouts for those (though it might not need it). Boxwave screen protectors though (similar to the SGP ultra-crystal in my experience) leave the sensors (and front camera) uncovered:
http://www.boxwave.com/samsung-gala...-crystal-2-pack-for-galaxy-s4/bwpdd/cvt-zmgm/
I got the ultra oleophobic and had it installed on my s4. in my opinion, it's one of the best fitting screen protector I've seen. the cut outs are spot on, leaving very little gap differences between the screen protector and the exposed area. here's a picture of it. pardon me, the lighting wasn't good for a clear contrast.

[Review][+Pics] Seidio Surface Case AND Vitreo Tempered Glass Screen Protector

Seidio Surface Case (without kickstand)
There is no denying that I’m a sucker for a good cell phone case and, without surprise, I nearly always end up going back to Seidio Surface case. My wife ends up feeling that my case is better than hers and ends up stealing my case.
This time, we got HER one first (hence the Fuchsia color).
Per their website:
The SURFACE™ case is the right case for those who are looking for sleek protection. This case protects your Samsung GALAXY S4 from scratches and drops while adding minimal bulk. Durable plastic is accompanied by our soft-touch coating which enhances the look of your Samsung GALAXY S4 without attracting lint.
- Sleek case that provides scratch protection without adding much bulk
- Case raises the camera away from a flat surface in order to protect your lens
- Precision cut-outs for access to the ports, controls, speakers, and camera
- Unique slide-in design makes putting on and removing your case easy
- Felt lining on inside protects your Samsung GALAXY S4

Fit and feel of this one is likely the BEST I’ve seen. No gaps or overlaps. Edges line up perfectly! All cut outs for the buttons are spot on and VERY easy to find. All cut out for ports (headphones, IR blaster, charger, camera, etc) are perfectly centered except for one that is quite literally a hair width off center. The case is made from a hard plastic and features a soft-touch textured feel that makes it grip in your hand but not in your pocket.
The case is NOT compatible with Spigen’s Glas.tr (it’s a VERY tight fit and won’t close all the way) but Seidio made sure that they offered a glass protector that works just fine with the case.
They also offer cases with a built-in kickstand and a holster to wear it on your belt. There are multiple color options available for the case as well.
Get it here! SEIDIO | SURFACE Case for Samsung GALAXY S4
Seidio Vitreo (Tempered glass screen protector)
Recently, there have been more and more of a market for a tempered glass screen protector and, to be honest, when I first heard of a glass screen protector I laughed. I firmly believed that those willing to buy such a product would also be willing to buy a few bottles of blinker fluid. Upon getting my hands on a few different ones, I can gladly admit that I am wrong. Tempered glass screen protectors are WORTH THE MONEY!!!
Glass screen protectors aren’t without flaw. They can still scratch, break, chip, etc. They aren’t perfect. They DO allow you to keep your screen on your actual device in perfect condition (I’d rather scratch a screen protector then the screen of my device) and, more importantly, allow that crisp clean feel of a glass screen to be used. There is no debating that glass feels better when compared with high end or low end plastic based screen protectors that we are all used to. These protectors simply feel amazing (and of course they cost a bit more too).
Seidio’s Vitreo tempered glass screen protector is no different.
Per their website:
Seidio's VITREO™ is a tempered glass material that utilizes advanced technology to shield and protect your Samsung GALAXY S4's screen. Made from a high grade glass with a 9H hardness rating, VITREO™ is shatterproof, allowing it to absorb more impact than your regular PET screen protector and prevent damage from occurring to your screen. The VITREO™ surface feels just like the device's screen without interfering with optical clarity while giving you an extraordinary level of protection. The design and lightweight material will provide peace of mind no matter what comes in contact with your device.
- High grade tempered glass with a 9H hardness rating prevents damage in the event of scratches and abrasions
- Tapered (rounded) edges provide a premium and more aesthetically enhanced profile for your device
- Engineered to reinforce the strength of the critical points of impact which results in prolonged durability
- Oleophobic coating resists marks and smudges with advanced technology that reduces the appearance of fingerprints
- Precision cut to not interfere with proximity sensors and front camera
- Slim profile allows fitment with Seidio cases while providing maximum coverage of the screen
- Allows touch sensitivity and enhances optical clarity
- Easy installation without bubbling and lifting
- Only 0.55mm (0.02in) thin

As can be seen in the photos below, the protector fits their Surface case nearly perfectly (and more importantly it allows you to put the phone screen down without having the glass make contact with the table). Installation was easier than the old plastic screen protectors and went on easily and quickly. I did have a minor issue with bubbling/streaking when installed but pressing firmly on the screen protector allowed those areas to stick and it has not become an issue since. All sensors and the home key are fully accessible when this product is used and the rounded edges feel smooth and nearly non-existent (except for the corners underneath the home key which just feel a tad bit out of place - non issue when their case is on the phone).
It’s worth noting that the protector doesn’t surround the home key. With the Surface case installed, this does not bother me. Without the case installed, I found that my fingers would rub along the edge. I found that this design made accessing the home button easier than with other brand glass screen protectors without the use of “extension” keys such as the jelly home keys (provided) or with the aluminum keys sold by other manufactures. Of course, adding them extension pieces sure didn’t hurt the feel either!

Thanks, I really like the look of the seidio case and screen protector. Definitely getting these for my S4!

i have never really been a fan of the two part cases like that. i had something similar for an ipod i had and hated it. as far as the screen protector i am also not a fan how the bottom has an open space around the home button. i much prefer to have it all one piece like my spigen nano. the price for the screen protector is also on the high side. the most important thing is if you like it though. everyone will have their own opinion :good:

My initial reaction to the glass not covering the home button was the same. After "trading" phones with my wife for the week while I tested everything, I REALLY prefer it this way. Your thumb INSTANTLY finds the home key and the use of a jelly button or aluminum home button isn't needed (but if you want to use one it doesn't hurt the feel either).
Yeah... it leaves some uncovered, but it feels damn good in the meantime!
In regards to the rest... yeap, comes down to preference! :cyclops:
are these too thick to work with a case? like otter box or uag

I don't have an otterbox or UAG to test it with. I can confirm that the Vitreo it is slightly shorter and thinner than the Glas.tr (which I believe I've seen someone said that it works with the UAG so that one shouldn't be a problem).
And it covers the screen OK? How ya like it?

Covers screen fine. Only real "dead spot" is directly under the home key which I find doesn't bother me when I grab the wife's phone (where it's currently at).
I had Spigen Glas.tr on mine and had two different defective units where the glass stopped "sticking" randomly and would spread.
.... so I guess you could say that I like it a lot more than the Glas.Tr :cyclops:

Same as plain screen and every other screen protector I've ever used. No delay as a result of the screen protector.

Sounds good I might order one from amazon then. Any drop experience with it? Hold up OK.

Only something you can decide! I'll tell you that using a glass screen protector is great and you'll wonder how you ever used a film screen protector though.

Tempered Glass

Hi Guys,
Any one has idea about where can I buy Front AND Back Tempered Glass Protector for HTC One M9,
I am pretty waiting for it.
Thanks & Regards.
Amazon, AliExpress.
Only front though, how do you want to protect the back with glass?
maybe it's diffcult for the screen protector manufacture, because I know the M9 back part is curved ,but the glass screen protector is flat, it just can cover the flat part of phone, and cant not cover the curved part.

Wouldn't putting glass on the back just make it more fragile?
I hope spigen will make a TGSP for the M9. Love their TG on my friends M8

I got my HTC M9 from taiwan this morning. I have brought a orzly HTC m9 Orzly glass screen protector and can confirm that the fitting is spot on. The cases i have brought from amazon.com are
- Orzly M9 invisicase which i love
- Fonem8 transparent TPU case
I had brought a few others as well but they didnt fit the phone perfectlty
i can recomend both these cases as a perfect fit and also they are transparent and show of the phone
Won't an M8 screen protector fit? They're the same dimensions aren't they?
I've pre-ordered my M9 and will probably go with a Tech Armour HD Ballistic Glass

I thought it would too. But it seems like the M9's screen is slightly shorter than the M8's screen vertically. I personally tried to place a spare M8 xtremeguard tempered glass screen protector on my M9 and it wouldn't fit and caused bubbling because it's too long. It fitted fine for the M8 without any problems.
The back is metal

A back screen protector wouldn't work, as far as I'm aware glass screen protectors can only adhere to the flat portion of the glass display. The back of the device has a curve, plus its made from metal so it's unlikely that any screen protector will stick to it.
If you're worried about damaging the back why not just get a case on it? there's plenty of cases out there that still show off the back of the device without adding too much bulk.
Or get a skin.

I've gone with Tech Armour Ballistic HD Glass. I get the phone tomorrow and the screen protector comes on Saturday

Orzly works well, I can confirm as applied to my M9.
I still have the HTC one m7 and will probably upgrade to the m9. Here is what I have been using for my m7. they make it for the m9 now as well.

This is by far the best glass screen protector I have ever used and the thinnest. Highly recommend. If for what ever reason it cracks or breaks they will send you a code for a new one at half price. I know because I have done it twice.

Just like the M8, The M9 isn't completely flat on the front so a full top to bottom glass protector wouldn't work. The glass panel sits ever so slightly lower than the speakers
Here's a nice one you guys should check out from a very respectable brand :good:

Hello,
In case you are wondering I tried a spare M8 Zagg glass screen protector and it fit really well. It did go the full top to bottom, and on the M8 had about 0.5 mm on the top and bottom. Maybe the xtremeguard screen protector is a little longer.

It protects the phone but still keeps it slim.
All ports are fully accessible, I can plug in any cable; other cases can't do that.
feels good in the hand
looks good

The glass back of the Xiaomi Mi5 slippy and this case makes it better.
can you make some pics from bottom and top? wondering if it protects frame from scratches and drops.

I think so, only bare metal is visible.
Also, I ordered some more, that fully cover the phone. Will post pictures as soon as those arrive + one NILLKIN Bluelight-filter thing Tempered Glass is on the way and should arrive soon, will post that one too.
What's on the way to me:
Mod Edit
I wont make a drop test, but can tell you that the sides of the phone are covered and so are the edges.

Cool, thanks. Will try to order this case
Just got today nillkin soft case, fits perfectly, buttons really comfortable. Price 7$ with free shipping (mine delivered in 2 weeks from China to Lithuania)
Here's link: MOD edit
I have very similar case (Nillkin frosted) for my HTC One (M7) and it is great. It did saved my phone couple of time including dropping it on a concrete surface from 1.5m. The design is very similar and will protect the screen also (it has raised edges which should absorb the hit). One disadvantage is that it doesn't protect the bottom/top side of the phone (where connectors are placed) so after a few years I got my phone heavily damaged in those areas (I'm not particularly gentle with this one). Ordered similar one for my Mi5
i already put nillkin tempered glass on my Mi5 and wear it a nillkin frosted shield.
but the frosted shield push the tempered glass, and the tempered glass is opened so often.
do you have similiar case like me? how do you fix it?
Confirmed. This case feels awesome in the hand!

so far it didn't destroy a single one of mine. Using it formore than two months now and had no problem
I did change the temepred glass inbetween, tried one of those "blue filters" -> what sucked. So went back to a normal tempered glass.
But anyway: did not break my tempered glass with this thing.

Mine wasn't placed properly, bit more one edge.
I've had a Nilkin hard shell for my OnePlus One for 2 years and it's still in great condition and the phone is immaculate because of it.
Glad to see they make one for the Mi5!
You should definitely check the Ringke Fusion case as well. I got the Fusion smoke black for my black mi5. It looks good with this one too and it feels well protected. I replaced the Nillkin Nature TPU case which I had been using The Nillkin Super Frosted shield looks good too though.
I also have the Nillkin tempered glass installed (for about 3-4 days ) and I can spot already some minor scratches on it. I never had the phone in the same pocket with my keys.. I hope it will last more than 4-5 months before it needs replacement..

I am using the same NILLKIN super frosted Shield, no extra thickness whatsoever, feel premium, and above all, retains the beauty of Mi5.
Today, I have ordered Graphene Armor tempered glass protector, with a minor doubt whether it will fit or overlap with the back case.

People should put temperate glass with nillkin frosted on MI5 for perfect alignment.
No issues here.
