Any idea if these would work on Sonic Rom?

Just got done flashing on stock odexed MDL and I gotta say that it's alright. I'm gonna give it a few more hours and see. Initially, what I don't like about it so far (or not used to it so far) is the abrupt way in which the screen pops off and pops back in.

I flashed and do like the animations, but Im wondering has this affected anyones battery in a negative way?

Hmm, I'm not seeing anything different.
Does it depend on the launcher?
I'm using Nova launcher.

Shouldn't depend on the launcher...my guess is that it's one of a couple things:
1. Go to Settings>Developer Options, scroll down, and make sure that the window/transition/animator durations aren't at 0.0x. If you want to feel the full effect of the animations (and tweak later based on your performance preferences), I recommend starting them all at 1.0x.
2. Go to Nova Launcher Settings>Look & Feel, then scroll down to "App Animations" and make sure SYSTEM is checked. It's possible that you have a custom setting here (I remember I did at one point) that is overriding the framework anims.
Good luck!

Thanks, the developer settings were all OFF.
I set them all to 1.0, now I see some differences.
But, I was expecting extreme differences from all the posts.
Thanks again.

So, before installing the CrossBreeder mod, http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2113150
I was saying, okay, it does something, sometimes, but now it is way cool.
Guess CrossBreeder kicked my phone in the ass!
Sprint S4, stock odex MDL, CF-Auto-Root, TWRP recovery, Hot Spot mod, XPosed Framework and mods,
[KERNEL] (004_r3)TouchWiz(UV/Intelliplug/dyn fsync/FauxSound/Hybrid Linux 3.4+) -
[MOD] CrossBreeder - 6.13.13-Lag Reduce/Entropy/DNS+/Tether+/Adblock/Censor Bypass

After setting the Window Animation to 1x, this mod became smooth and less abrupt and therefore more pleasing.

These are really nice, good find indeed, thank you

These transition animations are very easy to install yourself on any ROM. Just use Metamorph from the market. There is a pro and free version. These transition animations are all over XDA and you can try as many different ones as you wish with the Metamorph app. Try this one out It's almost exactly the same as the ICS one in the video and is the one I am currently using. Also if you want things to go fast like in the video just use the Spare Parts app free in the market and set the Window & Transition animations to fast.
(spare parts doesn't break CRT animations anymore or atleast it doesn't with Team Acid's Octaine build)

Nope, the transitions are supposed to be different. Even tried the zip from the note section, nothing.
Could this possibly be why? http://rootzwiki.com/topic/31658-vrtheme-zips-not-working-with-twrp-recovery/
Or is the zips just not formatted right for us? I can't figure out how I would try and push this update with root explorer.... Any ideas?
EDIT:
Tried to merge the framework this framework with the one I pull from the latest CM9 nightly, using Framework Flasher but I can't compile it, it fails with lost or error.
I took the animation files from cm10 and used the universal flasher to try and put them in cm9. The framework for ics has like 83 animation inputs, but there were many more than that in jb.
The results were pretty odd, I had the basic animations working (new window blows out from the center) but the app switching animations (squishy in and out of top and bottom) did not work. The strange part was the pop up menus, like power button options. They would slowly expand like a balloon blowing up. Very slowly.
My point is I don't think the ics framework is capable of handling all of the jb animations.
sent from my part of the problem
Why does it work for everyone else then? Best example is the note. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1758585
I have tried the font and it works mostly but I've lost text altogether on a few things, one being the names of the people I'm getting text's from.
I thought our skyrocket was very close to the note..?

Same way you do it with stock - you have to open up the app drawer, hit the menu button, then select edit. You may need to switch the view type first - do that, and then you can drag things from the app drawer into the dock and vice versa.
Hey again -
To the few that do try this rom out - feel free to drop suggestions for other things to try and work in (beyond lockscreens of course). While I do have one known (and one unknown) surprise ready, I'd like to get a few more things worked into an update if at all possible. I can't say I'll be able to work in what is suggested, but I'll give it a shot at least
Having an updated tw launcher or a different launcher with the ability to have 5 or 6 apps in the dock would be all that I would ask for. Everything else is fantastic. Thanks for all your efforts.

Yeah I've thought about such things, but I always circle back to the idea that there are so many great 3rd party launchers out there I should let it be to encourage folks to explore those options lol. I also am leery on putting in a launcher that has a pay version or has the whole ask-for-permission hassle (that's not really a hassle), but I'll keep my eyes peeled for something different.
I am of course open to suggestions

Google Now should have been working - all the stuff from the referenced link was added for it anyway. How is it different now vs. when you first flashed the ROM? Could you get me a screenshot of what it looks like for you now? Perhaps I missed something...
LOL on the swag toggle - I meant to change how that behaved. The toggle is there for fun only, but to mess with people on the Gingerbread build I had it set to force download mode if you turned it on while auto-brightness is turned on - I forgot to change that, my bad
EDIT: Derp... I see what I forgot... Ok, it will be fixed in 2.1, sorry about that For those not wanting to go and flash anything, all you need to do is delete /system/app/GoogleQuickSearchBox_USA.apk and then reboot and all will be well. My bad.

Yep - everything in that is already in the rom, I just forgot to remove an apk. D'oh.
First off - thanks to those that have offered some feedback on this, it is very much appreciated. That being said, I know not many have tried this out but I'm getting an update together, so I wanted to ask if anyone has noticed anything else not working quite as they expected or anything that should be changed/added/removed...?
I haven't come across anything I wanna do with the launcher yet, but I have cleaned up a few things in the toggles, Google Now is now working as it should, I fixed another little bug I found when you first turn on wifi after flashing... outside of that is there anything people have found that I should address before updating? No worries if not - like I said not many have tried this out, but I'd like to get all the little issues ironed out before updating if possible.

Hey everyone
Halo is a new, awesome feature. Though it's by pa team, many other roms will surely include it in future. I am creating this thread so that the pa thread or the pac thread or any other rom that has halo doesn't get cluttered with questions on halo. So, post all your queries about halo in this thread and post only the bugs of the rom in the rom thread..

You guys could simply extract the halo_bg.png file from the zip and then drag and drop it to SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-hdpi.If you want you may resize this png file to suit your style.
Then place the SystemUI.apk in system/app with proper permission and reboot.
I've been using it this way..

Ok I've made a sample flashable zip to change the theme of HALO
All you've to do is replace the png files from the theme zip in SystemUI.apk with the desired ones and then place the modified SystemUI.apk in the sample.zip and flash it.No wipes needed.
It also might be a good idea to place the original SystemUI.apk in the zip and store it by the name Revert HALO so that if you ever wanna go back just flash the zip.
I've zipped up the png files according to the name.Just open the SystemUI.apk using 7-zip goto res/drawable-hdpi or res/drawabale-nodpi(as the case maybe, see where the png files are originally) and drag and drop you choice of png files in there. Then place the SystemUI.apk in sample.zip and flash it.

And yeah halo is pretty cool as of now but I think it has still a long way to go to reach its true potential.
Say for instance the halo ring sits there as is it can be used to show the battery status in form of ring. This would come in handy to gamers and streamers as they'll have easy battery info without having to even move a finger while doing what they are doing.
Even this theme customization which is manual ATM should be integrated. There should be an option to set the amount of memory allotted to the background app and the front end app.Ahh there are just so many ideas.Hope someone takes a hint(@PA team).

I totally agree. hopefully as other roms adopt it, more development will get done. I really like the idea of a central feature that everyone can base off the same source. Like, PA made this, but if all the CM, AOKP, and other people work with it, but don't totally keep it to themselves, it can be kind of something all the roms have.

It's CM10.1 + paranoidandroid + aokp so the extra system overhead causes the lag.

I was just bout to say the same....... I'm sure with some tweaking, I can reduce this lag. Just have to wait and see. My OG is asleep on the Welcome Screen for the night, because that is how I usually do to let it ALL settle in. Although, I flashed the NoA2SD version straight up, so I don't know if that will make a difference. Either way, it is still PAC-man 4.2.2 on the OG. Can't say it hasn't been done.
Sweetness presented to us again from the great Wambo, nice stuff brother.
Like the NBA Jam game, Wambo is on fire! We are getting ROMs on the OG Evo I'd thought I'd never see.

To help a little with the lag, I go to settings/developer options, scroll down towards the middle & turn off the animations. Change all 3 from 1x to off. I think it makes a difference, you might not.
And by the way, I'll say it here too, thanks a sh!t ton for this Eric, love this on my og. Running great still, thanks bro!

No problem man. I appreciate it. As I said, as long as I have to use this phone, its gonna get 4.2.2. I saw the light with the Note2 for a little bit and there was nothing quite like it. I'm hooked on jellybean.
P.S. my default action is always turning animations to off, then sideloading Nova and disabling there too. Yes. Works like a champ here.
Yea I always either turn off animation or set it to.5x

Side load=have a backup copy from play store in an app folder on my sdcard. Go into file explorer and tap to install.
I meant to add it into the ROM, but I got lazy. Its a lot smoother than Trebuchet imho.

Not necessarily sideloading it makes it smoother, I mean nova in general. In Nova Settings - Look and Feel - Scroll Speed and Animation Speed set to faster than light.
