I tried this on Sky ICS 4.2F-6 and didn't notice any difference. Maybe it's only for AOSP/AOKP ROMS?
Just flashed on aokp build 40, no real changes. I guess the transitions are kinda smoother

Yeah that was the only thing I noticed as well. I asked in the original thread about it and his response was that the context pop ups have different animations (i.e. long pressing a conversation in messaging)
Thanks!
Animations are supposed to be like in this video after you flash my .zip:
It's completely different if you compare it with AOSP ICS. A bit similar with GB. Since Samsung is a fan of GB, it is similar
Yeah it's obviously not working for us

This is not the OTA boot animation, this is for the window transitions from JB. I didn't notice much of a difference but perhaps others have?

It does, but it's just the very subtle window transitions when entering and exiting context menus (nothing dramatic)

Nope, the transitions are supposed to be different. Even tried the zip from the note section, nothing.
Could this possibly be why? http://rootzwiki.com/topic/31658-vrtheme-zips-not-working-with-twrp-recovery/
Or is the zips just not formatted right for us? I can't figure out how I would try and push this update with root explorer.... Any ideas?
EDIT:
Tried to merge the framework this framework with the one I pull from the latest CM9 nightly, using Framework Flasher but I can't compile it, it fails with lost or error.
I took the animation files from cm10 and used the universal flasher to try and put them in cm9. The framework for ics has like 83 animation inputs, but there were many more than that in jb.
The results were pretty odd, I had the basic animations working (new window blows out from the center) but the app switching animations (squishy in and out of top and bottom) did not work. The strange part was the pop up menus, like power button options. They would slowly expand like a balloon blowing up. Very slowly.
My point is I don't think the ics framework is capable of handling all of the jb animations.
sent from my part of the problem
Why does it work for everyone else then? Best example is the note. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1758585
I have tried the font and it works mostly but I've lost text altogether on a few things, one being the names of the people I'm getting text's from.
I thought our skyrocket was very close to the note..?

Working terrific so far. Looks absolutely identical to regular miui. Except keyboard which is a tiny bit smaller I believe. Also noticibly faster in general. I do recommend it from my experience so far.
been running ICS build since it's availability and everything has been smooth and stable. it "feels" faster than any other MIUI build i've used, but could just be placebo effect unless ICS' hardware acceleration is really working.
i even had wifi calling working a couple times, but this has not been consistent. sometimes it worked and other times i had the "invalid sim" error.
can't really comment on battery life as i'm still re-calibrating.
the only issue i've run into is a Market FC only when i try to swipe through the screenshots for apps...weird.
other than the issue listed above, this rom has been great and error free for me.
tried it out.... hated the Ui would much prefer weapon x ui with ics improvements and toggles going back to weaponx 2.8.
Been using the ICS build. No crazy real world speeds were felt by me. Only going to keep running this build if the battery life is better than the regular one.
Missing extended power menu. Might be missing gps.config fix & APN fix files in this ICS build.
Looks & feels the same as any other MIUI Whitehawkx has ported over.
Installed just now...works great and benchmarks return 2700+. Also, I was having terrible problems with Youtube before with any other MIUI version (very, very, very, verrrrrry slow loading). Now Youtube is faster to load than when it was with Gingerbread.
THANK YOU Whitehawkx!

Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
I had that happen but only because miui considered it a favorite app and wanted you to submit a rating.
That's the only thing I found impressive was the media player, galnet player. I'd love to see it in cm7 or in a market.
Playing with miui on my G2 just to get a feel for it. Would have moved it to g2x but I need T-Mobile wifi to work

Big thanks to designgears from rootzwiki for this leak & ks0 for bringing it to my attention:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/23105-i727ucld2/
I'm from the T989 side. I was pretty excited for this, turned it into a CWM so enjoy
There are no T989 specific tweaks at all on this. I didn't change anything but what I say below.
*THIS IS A STOCK BUILD...with all AT&T and Samsung software UNTOUCHED*
I took it, extracted it (<3 WinHex), and turned it into a CWM flashable ZIP.
Aside from that, I added root and busybox to it.
Its fresh...built April 7
I have nowhere to host it...so here is a torrent.
If you can mirror it that would be good.
Initial downloading may be slow since I'm the only seeder for now.
(update: +2 more )
UPDATE
Flash these two fixes after flashing this ROM but before booting:
Root fix - Ignore the error after flashing this...then just go into Superuser and update after bootup
The attached UCLD2FontHotfix.zip to fix Facebook and Samsung keyboard
Run Fix permissons after flashing the above 3 fixes ^^
Cheers

For the life of me I cannot seem to find a stock ICS blue theme (notification bar icons) for this phone. I have searched high and low to no avail.
Stock ICS 4.04, Deodexed/Zipaligned running Touchwiz4.0
Currently I have the regular Android green and would LOVE to have the ICS blue. Prefer something that can just be flashed.
Basically something that looks similar to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1677032

Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
The UMS transfer speed is indeed ROM related. It's been a problem with CM since CM9. Using MTP mode speeds things up. As well as mounting USB through recovery.

Not a dig on the ICS and JB devs, just IMO seems with a GB kernel there's little reason to on a dd'er. When/if Aries gets going, that's a reason to try it.

I prefer the bml over mtd for the touchwiz features....I like going to contacts and sliding to text/call,and so on.
I don't mind waiting patiently for this.
Although it may never happen due to what seems to be most people here don't care much for bml and what it offers...which is all good by me....i do flash everything that comes out and give it a great amount of trial before i end up going back to the gb bml.

Replace the G with J in GB.
LOL
I use FBs VB still. Of course, I like ICS and JB, but GB this ROM is just perfect for what I want. With ICS/JB I have battery issues and also weak wifi signal. So GB feels right. Anyway, there has been a lot of progress and I know it will continue.
The facts
on GB almost everything works perfectly from the box (only some launchers require ver 4 and above, including Apex, my favorite).
Obviously memory management is better on ICS and JB, but most novice users won't feel the difference.
Regarding the UI experience, I think it is much better on ICS and JB, but apps like this - ICS/JB task manager, ICS system style (and maybe a systemUI) can make the difference minimal.
I prefer the UI in ics than gb. It is much faster and more intuitive.
If it helps, hit the thanks button. It's my motivator to be more helpful.

Just got done flashing on stock odexed MDL and I gotta say that it's alright. I'm gonna give it a few more hours and see. Initially, what I don't like about it so far (or not used to it so far) is the abrupt way in which the screen pops off and pops back in.

Shouldn't depend on the launcher...my guess is that it's one of a couple things:
1. Go to Settings>Developer Options, scroll down, and make sure that the window/transition/animator durations aren't at 0.0x. If you want to feel the full effect of the animations (and tweak later based on your performance preferences), I recommend starting them all at 1.0x.
2. Go to Nova Launcher Settings>Look & Feel, then scroll down to "App Animations" and make sure SYSTEM is checked. It's possible that you have a custom setting here (I remember I did at one point) that is overriding the framework anims.
Good luck!
Thanks, the developer settings were all OFF.
I set them all to 1.0, now I see some differences.
But, I was expecting extreme differences from all the posts.
Thanks again.
